Many schools have different rivalries and trophies with those rivalries. It doesn't matter if NDSU has one with SDSU just as UND had a trophy with USD back in our DII days. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_NCAA_college_football_rivalry_games Dartmouth plays for 3 different schools each for a different trophy. Hell NDSU could start a trophy with UNI in football it shouldn't matter to UND. Everyone on both sides know the Nickel Trophy was the big trophy, well that trophy is retired and its time to move on. Good luck NDSU/SDSU for the Road Marker, just as good luck UND if they do start a trophy rivalry with MSU.

I also think its a good idea. We need to establish a new rivalry with the Montana's. This idea of a trophy would be just a start. UND has played more games against Montana State than Montana so I think a Bakken Trophy with MSU instead of UM would be more ideal.

Seems like UND is not on the radar in polls, and ranking top players. That means either we are unknown (not making noise during transition), or our players (team) just isn't matching up to the rest of the big boys of the FCS (and BSC). So that means UND needs to make some noise this season and it starts by crushing Mines into dust, and then tearing up the field against Portland State to get some BSC team's and media attention. UND will be ranked higher and higher with wins and with those wins people will take note of our players. I don't take much stock in preseason polls or ranking players this early. But at the end of the season thats when we should care about polls and ranking players.

11 games 30 TD's...avg of 2.72 a game If Hansen throws 1 TD in one game and 4 in the next it would average out. If he throws 30 in a year and we have a 1000 yd rusher it means defenses covered one or the other and not our duel threat. I guess we will find out in 50 days what Hansen is made of.

Taylor could face his biggest fear...losing to UND in the playoffs. What kind of implications would that have. No revenge game until at least 2015 (unless they meet in the 2013 playoffs), recruiting problems, and of course media attention. Kolpack will have a heart attack.
