And if she flops don't worry people will be intimidated by the new building they will forfeit right? 721 saw the flop last season on average, maybe Taylor will keep the women's team at Scheels after the new building is built as not to taint it. A new building is not going to help if the product on the floor is winning only 6 games all year. Just because you pay someone a lot they are not nesseccairly going to be a clone to their predicessor. Also I love how FU fans praise their coaches with little or no experience but laugh when UND fans do the same with Bubba. Can you say hypocrites.

I agree, if Jones's teams can't get 20 wins, beat OOC teams on the road even beat a team with 1 DI win all season this upcoming season and beyond could mimic the last seasons of Muss.
-
Unless you count conference titles.
-
New buildings don't always result in titles. Minnesota Twins They did win the AL Central in 2010 so I give them a little credit with the new field.

I don't think USD is a lateral move, more like a downgrade. The last winning season by the Yotes was 2010-11 (18-15)....their last lost of that season UND 77 USD 76 2OT GWC Title game http://espn.go.com/n...ameId=310710155 Since then 10-18, 10-20, and 12-18. Talk about a team that has done nothing since joining the SL.

Last winning record for NDSU's women's basketball is 2009-10 (16-13)....its been a long time and their attendance is proving no one wants to see a losing team, plus the only Dakota team not to make the dance (has to sting a little). If the coach is a proven winner people will come.

2013-14 avg attendance: MBB 1839 WBB 1580 FB 8357 VB 1130 Did NDSU have these 4 sports over 1000 average?
-
Pretty steep for a crappy women's team.

Sounds good, thanks.

Any chance of a SL/MVC merge?

Any reports on the kicking game? Who will be our starting kicker?

This was posted on FB from the powwow. You think he needs sensitivity training along with the sorority? -

Both conferences have unattractive teams to fans and teams that are attractive. The Dakota 3 would equal Weber St, UM and MSU as attractive then you have Idaho St, Sac St, SUU would equal the Indy teams and WIU as unattractive to fans unless the title was on the line. I think the MVFC equals the BSC as far as toughness so switching to that I would be more in favor of than the SL, I just wouldn't want to join the SL then have SDSU, Omaha and DU join the MVC, the Indy schools bail out east leaving the SL on life support again. That I why I am so glad the BSC is extremely stable right now especially with Idaho rejoining. If the Dakota 3 even DU with them joined the BSC it would be great.
-
I agree it's all about stability, that is why I am not fully towards the SL, it's a revolving door of a conference. Other than that I wouldn't have a problem being in the same conference as the other Dakota schools if they were a solid core that stayed put in that conference like Western Illinois. I think more teams will bolt and maybe the other 3 will be looking at the BSC if one or two gets an invite to the MVC and leaves "A" Dakota school alone.
-
I just don't see the big deal on moving to the SL if the revolving door stops over there. NDSU, SDSU, Oral Roberts are basketball powerhouses of the SL, we are not a powerhouse in the Big Sky unless the women's teams (volleyball and bb) repeat. The men have no BSC titles (regular or tournament) we are the same as Omaha..oh wait we lost to them in the CIT that's one more win for them than us in that tournament. Saying the BSC is like the Big 10 and the SL is like the MAC is funny!

See above post.

With my kids getting older it's easier to get to a game. I used to attend 2-3 football games and 1-2 hockey games, but with my kids older I can take them on road trips that I can get to and back to Fargo in a day.
-
You mean there is no Summit League app?
-
I would like to point out travel. How many UND fans could travel to Vermillion, Fargo, Brookings compared to Sacramento, Cheney, and Flagstaff. There are beautiful locations throughout the Big Sky footprint, but getting there is a problem for most fans unless you live pretty close to those locations. Living in Fargo I would love to have UND in the same conference as NDSU, SDSU, and USD, plus its just a couple hour drive to Brookings and another couple hours to Vermillion. 4 hours west of Fargo gets me to Dickinson. So obviously travel is a huge plus to joining the rest of the Dakota 3.

Can't have Thunder...too scary. Even though Oregon has ducks I suppose that could work with our state. I like Cavalry but I think RoughRiders will be a favorite. Here's a question no matter the nickname do we keep the word Fighting in front I it? Fighting Ducks, Fighting Norse?
-
Academics?? What does that have to do with sports?
-
In what sport? SL = BSC (1 bid leagues) BSC= MVFC.
-
Hopefully a coach that gets us OOC wins (crown College doesn't count), a coach that gets us a 20 win season, and a coach that can keep his team consistent. I suppose Travis Brewster can't coach both teams.

http://bisonmedia.areavoices.com/?p=90375 Putting bad blood (Douple-Kelley) aside. If UND could get into the MVFC and Summit League at the same time effective immediately after MSU bolts for the Sun Belt, should UND accept or stay in the Big Sky? IMO there are so many pros and cons to the Big Sky compared to the MVFC/SL that's its tough to decide. Pros to moving: Travel Conference Tournament in the same city (easier to plan for that week) Rivals Cons to moving: No tv deal like watchbigsky.com (every game available) home court for regular season champs during tournaments and the big one.....Stability. To elaborate on the last one (stability), the MVFC is stable, the Summit has always been a revolving door, but if you have a solid core of 5 UND, NDSU, USD, SDSU, and Omaha that would be a good core....HOWEVER, with schools switching conferences who says that Omaha, SDSU wouldn't bolt to the MVC in a heartbeat leaving the rest behind. Denver has a history of switching so they aren't stable, the same with Oral Roberts. WIU is stable, IPFW, IUPUI could be major question marks, could be lured away by a more eastern conference. Just my opinion but its something to think about.
