So UND played SDSoM in 2012 and Bison fans laughed and ridiculed us for playing a non DI team, then NDSU played Ferris State last year, they made excuses to pump them up (FSU is the best DII team ever), now this year you have their conference mates South Dakota playing NAIA William Penn (no laughing on BV), and this thread on SDSU vs Oshkosh (http://www.bisonville.com/forum/showthread.php?32982-SDSU-v-D3-Oshkosh-B-Gosh) no one is laughing and pointing at them. Shows how immature they get when something bad happens to UND but yet they can look past it when, it happens to them, or its their "rival" and another conference mate.

To give them a little credit it was their 12th game penciled in, but no SD DII teams are available? At least DII will give you partial credit for a playoff spot, DIII does nothing, nor does USD's William Penn (NAIA).

South Dakota St has to play DIII-Wisconsin Oshkosh in 2014 so maybe UND can get a another home and home with them in upcoming seasons starting in 2015. USD plays William Penn this year so UND has gone the longest among the 4 Dakota teams without playing a non DI team (2012). Hopefully SDSU learned their lesson from the loss to UW-Lacrosse and never overlook anyone.

Last year everyone's hopes of a playoff season with 7 home games were crushed and thrown out the window. This year everyone knows Bubba is going to clean up Muss's mess, and it's not going to be done overnight or through one season. .500 is the bar set, Muss never had 6 DI wins in one season (his best was 5 in 2011), so if Bubba can go 6-6 on an all DI schedule that is a hell of an improvement. Winning will increase attendance more than a spring game.

Look at the hype last year and the result. I think with most everyone not giving this team a chance and not much or any hype Bubba's team could very well shock everyone. The season doesn't start Saturday, it starts August 28th. A lot of time to get the team ready for the season.

Why Spanish? I would think the way the dolts on BV hate Canadian athletes (except the ones on the Bison teams) you would say Grand Forks in French. Or did that thought go over your head.

How many scholarships does UND have overall and what sports don't have any? I think UND should think of offering. Red River is the tennis king of ND, I would think they would want to go to UND but with no schollies there isn't really incentive on the court.

Seeing I waited until 2011 to start one lets see how Bubba has done with the team through 2016 and into 2017 to see if he can turn the Muss !@#$ show around.

Anyone else think it's odd how we are talking about the poor offense and not poor defense. We have talked about poor defense since early in the GWFC days, our offense hasn't been stellar except 2012 but that's because we threw the ball like the 1984 Miami Dolphins. Trying to switch to a more running attack is going to take time and lots of tweaking in the OL. This team doesn't have a game for 4 months. That's a lot of time to start improving on run blocking, so just 10 practices is not going to give us a 2000 yard rusher. Be patient!!!

UND's home opener (Bismarck doesn't count) is this weekend!!! UND vs Seattle U Friday at 2pm, Sat at 1pm and Sunday at noon. UND is 7-5 and 7-18 in the WAC for 3rd place tie with Seattle U and New Mexico State. Sac St 12-3 Grand Canyon 10-5 Seattle U 7-5 NMSU 7-5 UND 7-5 Bakersfield 8-7 Utah Valley 8-7 Texas-PA 7-8 Chicago St 2-10 UNC 1-14 UND has 15 games left.

Softball is doing as good as tennis.....2-6 in the BSC and 4-31 overall for 5th place (out of 7 teams). YUCK!!

UND men's tennis finished the year 2-8 in the BSC and 3-15 overall for a 9th place tie with Portland State, only SUU finished worse at 0-10. Women's tennis finished no better at 3-7 in the BSC and 6-13 overall for a 7th place tie with SUU and ISU. I take it UND is not a tennis school.

So either our run defense is going to be good or we are going to be chucking the pigskin a lot.

I don't expect this team to win a conference title but I hope there is some improvements in every aspect of the game. If the defense gets more solid but the offense is lagging then that is something to address next season. It's just like RT did in the mid 80's and it took awhile but it was worth the wait.

Hopefully it's all good news and it's been a much needed improvement from last year.
