You are dead on! It's sad that they treat the little guy who is supposed to be their division equal like a DII team. Think of the outrage by the S5 conference teams if the NC game was Wyoming vs Marshall.

Phase 1 will be a huge win against next winters snow and temps. Things are looking good for UND football.

Think of it this way between the FBS and FCS, if your school is playoff eligible in the FCS you have a shot at a NC, in the FBS you think anyone at Miami, OH, Western Michigan, Louisiana-Monroe, Marshall think they have a shot (a realistic shot) at a NC? No. If Miami went perfect and won the MAC they won't be playing for a NC against the big boys. If they expand it that's more S5 teams in unless it turns into March Madness. That's the only way the little guys have a shot at a NC. I love the FCS way!

Plus this thing is in 2 phases. The football field etc, is phase 1 and the locker rooms etc, is phase 2. I don't think all of it will be done by fall...maybe just phase 1.

When a MAC, SB, MW team is playing for a National Title and Alabama, Auburn, Nebraska, Ohio State is at home watching this I will believe the NCAA won't isolate FBS teams and conferences. Boise State had how many times to play for a NC but the NCAA prevented them from doing it. Just because there is a 4 team playoff doesn't mean it won't be 4 S5 teams. Wyoming, ULM, Miami (OH), and Marshall will never be a final 4 in the FBS championship tournament. It will most likely be Alabama, Ohio State, UCLA, Florida State. The day a non Super 5 teams wins a NC in football is the day UND wins the dance.

He said the MAC gets a million per big 10 road game, wouldn't that million be split per MAC team? 2014 there are 10 MAC @ Big 10 games so 10 mil is split between 13 teams as per what he said unless he meant the 1 mil/game is given to each MAC team playing.

So take Miami for example, they get 1 mil from ESPN, 76,923 bucks for big 10 road game (1 mil minus 13 teams) So this year (2014) Miami will get 1,076,923 bucks for playing at Michigan and having games on ESPN....sounds like a sweet deal BUT how much did they have to shell out to bring FCS Eastern Kentucky in, there goes some of that extra pot money. I bet the MAC would like to stop expansion altogether as that 1 mil is getting spread out throughout so many teams.

I don't think so since every sportscast has a Bison report from practice, while they say nothing about UND, that station is really bad at covering the "whole" valley while WDAY and Dom Izzo talks about UND. I watch KVLY for news and weather then turn to WDAY for my taste of UND sports

The Bison don't need gobison.com they have Valley News Live covering every story on Bison football while forgetting the other DI school in their coverage area. I get more UND stories from WDAY than KVLY.

Instead of going from 16-17 to a ONE game improvement (17-17). Jones is not the answer for this team, and its time for him to go. I would think Faison knows when to drop the hammer on Jones' UND career.

You just made the excuse this team won't have the high scoring due to minutes lost by the seniors. That means unless the "bench" players can find the bucket they better learn to rebound and play sound defense or else it is going to be a long season. When I can watch the game on my computer and see them getting beat by Southern Utah I can see them looking past them and into the tournament. Remember a loss to the first game in the tournament to Sac St would have kept UND OUT of the CIT. I know you want to count tournament games, but unless you can win on the road you aren't going to see a tournament game at home and its going to be tough to go to the Dance. Playing at home vs Weber St could have been our ticket to the dance, but when you have to play them at their court you are at a huge disadvantage than say a neutral court (like the SL does). All games are important but unless you win during the regular season (OOC and conference) then you aren't going to see "A" tournament game. (CIT, NIT, CBI, NCAA)

I love all the excuses you are giving Jones, its funny. I discounted the tournament wins because its a neutral court for both teams, UND outside the conference hasn't won on the other teams court since Feb 2012. They did win some GWC Tournament games and BSC tournament games but an actual OOC road win during the regular season was Longwood in 2012. So UND was pumped up to play one win Southern Utah at the last game of the year? Was this team pumped up against Cal Poly, Bowling Green, Omaha? When I said this could be a Muss type team look at UND's football season last year 3-8 worst team I have seen since the mid 80's and hardly any attendance. I think when this team is getting a butt kicking at home the attendance may rival NDSU's women's team.

If he has a winning record (overall) with this young team keep him to the end of his contract. I see maybe 10 wins if nothing changes from last season.

Shouldn't common sense be if a coach continues nothing but a .500 record there should be room for change? Or are fans going to be happy to get blown out on the road, no not to Wisconsin and Oregon but Cal Poly and Nebraska-Omaha. Last OOC road win (non tournament) was February 18th...2012, 2 years ago!!!! At LONGWOOD!!! Is that the best this guy can do? If he can't get his players pumped up to beat a team with 1 DI win (SUU) how can get a young team pumped up to play bigger games like NDSU, SDSU, and Major college teams (I assume there will be some on the schedule). .500 will be shocking and I see a 2013 Muss type team on the court. If UND starts getting blown out at home fans will stop showing up and it will take a lot to get those fans back. Just look at the work Bubba has to undo the mess that Muss left.

How do you know Jones won't get fired? Another 17-17 year and a first round loss in the CIT is not what I am looking forward to.
