Speaking of youth hockey, my son (8 years old) wants to join hockey. I have heard it's expensive and very time consuming. There are two leagues he could join this upcoming fall/winter a recreation league or a travel league. Travel league is more competitive but they travel in a 100 mile radius of Fargo (I wouldn't mind a trip to GF) so we are leaning towards the recreation league just to get his feet wet as he just learned to skate and is now in love with the sport. Can anyone shine the light on the truth/ myth about it being expensive and time consuming?

Getting a little ahead of the topic, but the Herald says that UNI will be making a return trip to Grand Forks in 2015-2016. NDSU will also be coming to Grand Forks and I'd assume SDSU will as well. Not a bad start to the home OOC schedule for next year.
Why should Kelley be fired when he is doing what his bosses (SBoHE) told him to do. If I went against my boss I would be fired. If there is blame for the nickname loss it's the NCAA, Wayne Stenjum, and the SR tribe.
We know all about the "we want Bama" talk, but why rip on the level which UND also competes on. If you want to slam NDSU and its football "team" by all means go for it, we got your back, but when you slam the "FCS" you are on your own.
Don't you get it, you rip NDSU for being in the FCS you are also ripping UND for being in the same class. If you are a fan of UND athletics (including football) you would refrain from making asinine remarks.
1984, 1993, 1995, 2003, 2004, 2010 these are Central's championship years going back 31 years. This year is the 5th year in the drought, Central went though 9 years, 8 years, and 6 years of a drought. Does Grant need to be fired.....NO!
On a post earlier this season it was said that UND hosts UNI this next season, I would assume both the SU's will be coming to Grand Forks, anyone else have news on who else or would like to see? I would like to see more Summit teams like South Dakota, Denver, and Omaha permanently on our OOC schedule. Its a lot better than scheduling those worthless Mayville/Dickinson games.
