8 recruits over a weekend in his SECOND year of coaching is remarkable, he has turned this sinking ship around and it's moving in the right direction. I am sure the recruits are impressed with Bubba's coaching skills and the facilities we offer and cannot wait to play for him.

And who will you be Fetch? I myself will be a fan of the University of North Dakota until two things happen either I die or the the school closes which ever happens first. No nickname (including Sundogs) will change that. I will still wear Fighting Sioux gear 10-20-30 years from now (as long as it fits) along with other UND gear no matter the nickname, why? Because I am a passionate fan for this university. Growing up listing to the announcer and crowd at Memorial Stadium from my backyard to taking my own kids 70 miles to cheer on UND to victory. Because....UND comes before any nickname!! That's who I am.

There are some Utes who find that name racist along with some Seminoles, Chippewa etc. Yes there are some who think the Sioux name was racist but there was a lot more Sioux who thought the name wasn't....majority did not prevail.

They aren't the only passionate fans, the ones that want a nickname are passionate too. I love UND and want them to pick a name and end this long awaited mess that this cooling off period started, by not having a nickname will this debate really be over?

You aren't an ass, also it seems the only people( or most of the people) who care about UND being without a nickname are the hard core Fighting Sioux or nothing hockey only fans who would rather piss in the face of the NCAA than retire the name fans. Am I wrong?

It was an example of people (probably most) don't find it derogatory, also Nodaks was used when we were the Flickertails as an "unofficial" name. So Nodaks are already part of UND's history and would be a viable replace to not having a nickname at all.

USD went with their states nickname...The Coyote State. Kinda like ND is the Roughrider State, Peace Garden State, Sioux State (I have a magnet that says that one).

When my mom addresses an envelope she puts Fargo, NoDak. She doesn't use N.D. I have never lived outside this state so NoDak was heard of and I am not offended because I consider anyone from this state a NoDak short for North Dakotan. As for your Minn-Dak comment isn't Minn another postal abbreviation?
