  1. I wonder if the NCAA is thinking, "Wow...these people have dropped a lot of coin and they are serious about this. Let's settle this." I am so proud that we have people that want to stand up and fight for the name. GO SIOUX!
  2. HOCKEY- TONY HRKAC BASKETBALL- PHIL JACKSON FOOTBALL- MILSON JONES COACHING- PINKY KRAFT Can we add to the mountain and have 4 from each category?
  3. He was 18 but looked about mid 20's. the sisters had more male hormones than I me I think. Who knows, maybe after reading the website we will have him or a friend at school someday.
  4. Getting by in China reading "The Boys of Winter" story of the 1980 Olympic team. Last night was on a train from Harbin, China, up near the Russian border and there was a family of Russians on board my train car. They didn't speak English but their Chinese guide spoke Russian and Chinese. My wife speaks Chinese so through a conversation through her to the guide to the Russians we were able to talk about a lot of hockey. The family had a son along that plays hockey, huge kid, with arms as big as many people's thighs. I gave them the fighting sioux website . That was my fix of hockey for the week.
  5. I tried to get tickets last year and didn't in the lotto but found tons for sale on ebay the week before the tourney. got them for less than the original cost. Maybe it was because of the teams involved but there are always tickets out there is what I have found.
  6. I miss hockey too. I'm in China right now and just found out that they have ice hockey in the city I'm in!!!! I'm in the NE near the Russian border and they have winter sports. Went and watch some youth camp today for the fun of it. I wonder if Haks would want to recruit this far west or is it east? Zi Gin (good bye) from China
  7. I saw the Green/White intra-squad scrimmage this spring and it looks like they have some challenges ahead of them. But... knowing it's the last year in the NCC I think they will make it a season to remember. Lots of history in the conference and I know all will want to be the last champion of it. GO SIOUX!
  8. Nee how! Chur la ma?(did you have your meal) shing, not sure on that one. Just got back from shopping, nice dress shirt for $8 along with dress pants for the same. Went to a tailor to get them altered for 75 cents. No Grinders here and really miss them plus Sioux sports so just had to log on to see what fans are talking about. Will return in time to watch the first football game of the season. Zi Gin (good bye)
  9. Is anyone willing to call the Athletic Dept. today and ask them to post the schedule? I'm in Beijing China right now and don't want to pay the large bill for an international phone call. Thanks
  10. I'm already chilling a bottle of bubbly for the day the lawsuit is settled and the Sioux name prevails. I'm even thinking about getting a tattoo to match my Sioux hockey jersey. If the guy that refused to eat at Zorbas is passing through Sioux Falls, SD or Sioux City Iowa, I hope he keeps going and doesn't need to stop for gas.
  11. That will buy a few sticks for the team as we head out of the gate and down the stretch in 08 !
  12. It was fun watching the auction each day. Now I guess I'll just have to watch the countdown clock at the top of this website
  13. I didn't get one either! bummer... oh well. Nice job everyone that got one and wear it proud, be loud! Let's Go Sioux! Nice amount of money for the team. Anyone want to add it up?
  14. Let's guess which one went the highest and the lowest. I predict #9 Toews went for $2,800 and #20 Watkins went for $400
  15. Will the Sept.?oct. auction be done the same way?
  16. Fun to see the count of hits the website has had in the last few minutes. Awe being a Sioux fan is great! A buddy of mine is trying to convince SCSU to do the same. Their response from the boss: "The uniforms are State property."
  17. I agree... also good to see that the money the fans spent will go back into the program. A great cause. How soon will they post the final prices?

When does the camp end ?
  19. Has anyone else heard anything about the Sioux playing a game at the Target Center in Mpls. ? One of the coaches mentioned it to me in May but haven't heard anything since.
  20. Good for the Sioux Women's program to get another outstanding coach like that. I'm excited to see what this new crew will do for the women's program! GO SIOUX!
  21. "Appalled by the ruckus that attended each visit of the North Dakota Fighting Sioux hockey team to St. Cloud State, Saigo appealed to the conscience of the NCAA." WHAT IS THAT? I have lived in St.Cloud since 1994, graduated from UND and have attended EVERY Sioux-SCSU hockey, football, basketball, soccer, and softball games during that time in St.Cloud. The only ruckus I can think of is about 10-15 students, most of which 2 years ago were foreign exchange students holding signs outside of the hockey arena. I asked one foreign exchange student why they were protesting. He said in broken English, "someone in the student union asked me to come and hold this sign for 30 minutes outside the hockey arena." This year there was a lot of snow that day so no protesters showed up. During the football games in the past years several walked around the stadium during the game holding signs that were to small to read. They were about 500 yards away and nobody in the crowd could even read them unless you had a telescope. By the way, the Sioux fans outnumbered the Huskies 10-1 in fans and we had our own band make the trip. I have two friends that teach at SCSU and they said Saigo has done nothing for the school in his tenure. I believe he has turned the attention away from his own issues at SCSU towards the ban the Sioux campaign in order for others not to see the many issues that are on his own campus. At the press conference for the new President this past spring , someone in the crowd asked if the new president would continue the fight against UND and the name change. He looked confused and really didn't answer the question. The look on his face almost seemed to say, "What kind of stupid question was that?" GO SIOUX!
  22. I'm saving my money for that auction instead... the current ones are way out of my price league.
  23. gfherald.com They have some great photos from this past year in their photo gallery.

I agree, come back for an exciting 2008 season. I didn't use all of my eligibility when I was a Sioux athlete and still regret it to this day and that was over 20 years ago. 2008 is going to be one to remember and when UND honors that team in years to come you won't want to miss that reunion. GO SIOUX!
