Welcome Jason! A man like you that has his priiorities in order with family at on the top of your list is a great person. Having your family being able to watch you play all those games at the Ralph plus the series with the schools in MN will no doubt make them very happy. Take it from a former athlete that played for the Sioux, it was nice for my folks to drive to see me in action rather than read about it in the paper. Welcome! Enjoy... Great place to eat in Grand Forks, The .Red Pepper , may I reccomend the Grinders.

Thanks for the info. I heard the Sioux are trying to get a game at the Target Center this winter. That would be great for the fans in the Twin Cities area. Not sure who they would play yet but heard it's in the works.

I think the best thing you can do if you know of a good player is to email the coach and let him know about the athlete. Sometimes there are some kids out there that no one knows about yet.I am a HS coach in Minnesota and I get things all the time from colleges for my athletes. I hand them all out and tell the kids to look at what it is they want to be doing 5-10 years down the road. Will going to a certain college help you acheive that goal? I also wear a lot of Sioux Green with logos to the majority of my practices or to games. If someone asks me about UND, i tell them it's a great place for an education and I enjoyed going there. I also tell them I'd go back there in a heart beat and be a student/athlete again. I also had a parent ask me about whether her oldest daughter should go to UND or NDSU. They knew I was an alum of UND and a former athlete. I repeated what I said earlier. The result was that their oldest daughter went to UND followed by 2 more sisters. GO SIOUX!

Also thankful for the great humor the Sioux fans have. That is great with those mascots! Also thankful for the great respect we get from real hockey fans. Many times while I was at the Final 5 in St. Paul many came up to me and said that they thought ND fans were great. Heard it again while in St. Louis from Maine and Michigan State fans. Many Maine people also went on to say how wonderful our fans were a couple of years ago while we were out there to play the Black Bears. Keep it up Sioux Fans...many are watching.

I think we should start thinking of some new topic threads once this one is decided. Any suggestions? GREATEST GAMES IN SIOUX HISTORY....STRANGE STATS THAT NEVER GET MENTIONED.....A QUIZ GAME WITH CLUES TO FORMER AND CURRENT SIOUX PLAYERS(we could use the Jeopardy show as a guide)

okay, I'll add one. We do have the most knowledgeable fans of any in the country. I am amazed at the facts some of you know. I learn so much from you all. I am also so impressed by the websites some of you have made. The one by the person in Arizona is great! I am thankful for forums like this one. I have read like I said other threads from other schools and it's a joke at what they talk about or know. Thank you Sioux Fans!

In reading other hockey threads on uscho.com it really hit me the other day. We, the UND fans, alum, former players, really have a lot to be thankful for. Our number of championship titles, beautiful place to watch our home games, numerous ncaa tourney games played in year after year are just a few of the thoughts I have. I read about teams that made the the tourney and wanted to win just one game this year. Let's make a list of what we have and once again give thanks for it.

Since we're all just waiting for some news, let's predict which news source will be the first to break the news about his return or departure. Also the date of his announcement. I'm going with May 17th for my pick and Grand Forks Herald as the one that gets to print it first.

I will laugh with you! Still know in my heart he is back at UND. Stay tuned Sioux Fans!

Saigo at SCSU is about to retire this year. The SC Times ran a story of his "accomplishments" @SCSU. One of them was getting the ball rolling on the Sioux logo arguement. Pretty sad when that is all he has done at his school. The rest of the list was really weak. When the new President was introduced at a press conference one of the questions posed to him was,"Do you plan on trying to get the Sioux name and mascot banned from UND?" I attend a lot of SCSU functions and am tired of their agenda against UND. They are the only school that I know of that has students protest with signs out in front of the venue before the game. Most of the students are foreign exchange students. I asked one why they were protesting and his response was, " I don't know... I was asked to hold this sign and stand here by some American students." I truly feel that SCSU problem is it's envy of our traditon of excellence in athletics and academics. Also of our wonderful buildings which we play our sports. GO SIOUX!

And if I'm right all I want is handshake and for you all to say, "We should have believed you". :-) On another note... does anyone ever wonder if the Sioux hockey team ever reads these or if some of the current players are really posting some of these topics?

He Will Stay. (If I'm wrong I will buy a round for everyone that reads this and is payable at the first home game I attend at the Ralph for next season.) I knew in my heart that the others would stay too, and I think these guys have a lot of Sioux Pride. I think that they want to return to the Ralph some day as alumni and look up in the rafters and see the Title that they won. I have read in the past years of the regrets that many pro athletes have for going pro early. Everyone talks about the money they could be earning, but if you have watched TV lately and see all of these celebrities who are so unhappy with their lives and they have tons of money. It's not everything it's cracked up to be to have lots of money. Also... there is no Red Pepper in Chicago #9

As a high school coach who has picked out uniforms for my team, I like getting a design and sticking with it. When others see it, they are reminded of our history and tradition. Keeping the ND on the helmets is great and I hope they keep that. I still liked the old gray ones however and gray pants but since that's not even our school colors I guess the green and white is right. When I was at UND the only team that used the Sioux logo was the hockey program. Not sure why but I like the current uniforms now. Would like to see the word NORTH DAKOTA on the front above the number however.

Has anyone seen the Basketball schedule for the coming season?

That is correct. Nice job. Do you remember the sketches of players they use have hanging in there? Wonder where they ended up? I'm glad I got my mug out of there before I left town and they tore down the place.

NEXT QUESTIONS: What year did the Sioux stop playing in the Barn? How many years did Dave Christian play for UND? What was the name of the sports bar on Stafford Road back in the 70's and early 80's? Bonus: What was hanging over the bar?

In speaking with a source that is close to Brian Lee, they said he is weighing his options but they are 99.9% sure he will stay at UND one more year. That was as of April 29th.
