A bit of trivia, Can anyone name another former Sioux star that scored in his first NHL game?

I was at the game and it was my first womens hockey game that I have ever seen. Very good skating and I was impressed. I will definately attend more. It really got my heart racing to see the people in a Sioux uniform flying up and down the ice. We had a nice small group of fans at the game despite it being over 80 degrees outside and sunny in the Twin Cities. The Sioux women took some steps forward this weekend. GO SIOUX! Can't wait for them to come to St.Cloud (where I live) and watch them in action again.

I think we here at Siouxsports should be good examples and not to be afraid of speaking to people that take the bait and talk back to the protesters. Once at a hockey game at SCSU some young Sioux fans took the bait. I quickly stepped in and said, it's not worth it. We're here to cheer on our hockey team and not debate. Let's go Sioux and we walked away. The one of the fans friends said they were glad I stepped in. Let's have our lawyers do our talking. GO SIOUX!

I totally agree. I live in St.Cloud and have to put up with the protests every time I go to A SCSU-UND event. I don't say a word, just smile and walk by. Just had to add this... I was attending the picnic to welcome the new international students to campus as I am a host family for students from China. I was wearing my UND t-shirt with the logo on it and the new President of SCSU came over to welcome me and thank me for being a host family. He looked at my shirt and didn't say a word, just smiled. Glad that the new one is not like the old president.

Just a reminder that single game tickets for UND @ UMD go on sale on October 2nd. I see they play two afternoon games there, a Saturday and a Sunday in March. 2:05 start time for both games.

I agree, go to UND. That way your parents don't have to drive all that way on icy roads in the winter to see you play some place else. Be a part of history as the Sioux go from the cellar to the penthouse in the years you will play here. Beautiful campus, REA, great community to live in, And if that doesn't sell you on UND.. remember Red Pepper is only in the Gf area !

I totally agree. Brian did a super job with other programs he has worked with and I'm excited that he is now working with the Sioux. I have never been to a womens game but have planned to attend some this year. Going to the Twin Cities and watch them in October and also when they play in St.Cloud. GO SIOUX!

Just picked up my tickets for when the Sioux play SCSU Jan. 4-5. Got 16 in Section 210. Last year I had that many and it's a good section to be in since it's in the same corner as the tickets they send UND. Section 210 however has backs on the chairs. GO SIOUX!

I walked into the Stadium just yesterday as the last truck was taking out the old turf. I was able to grab a hunk of the carpet with the goal line on it for my Sioux Room in the basement. Wish I had my truck with me so I could have grab a bigger piece for my garage floor!

The students will still be gone when the Sioux come to St.Cloud so tickets should be easy to get. Also SCSU will be down this year I think and the fans are really not that great. Even when they were in the hunt last year there were many open seats at each game. I had season tickets 2 years ago and live there so I know. Let's fill that place with GREEN !

Mankato, UMD for sure. I was thinking about the series out east during October but that will be my honeymoon. My future bride has never seen hockey before, (she is from China) and was thinking at first to show her curling. Then later take her to a hockey game and tell her there is more action in it! I've shown her clips of Sioux hockey on youtube and she is excited to see it.

Hate to post twice in a row, but on my way back from China now and on 8-4-07 was on a layover in Tokyo Japan. Saw several men in USA basketball shirts. Minutes later the coaching staff walked by and Rich Glas(former mens basketball coach for UND) was one of the coaches. Talked to him for several minutes and he said the team, from Northern Iowa was playing in a tourney I believe he said in Thailand.

DEc.24,2006, flying on United Airlines from MSP_-Chicago to Beijing China and talking with a flight attendant. We discussed where we were from and he was from the Twin Cities. Told him I was from ND but working in central MN. Started talking schools and he told me he went to UND from 1979-1984. I was there from 1980-85! Talked hockey for hours.I was flying coach so he went up into first class, came back with a bottle of champange, candy, crackers and cheese, all wrapped nicely in a fancy napkin. Enjoyed the rest of the flight eating first class. Two days later ran into him and other flight attendants in downtown Beijing China shopping. We both saw each other and shouted out, "GO SIOUX! "

What was the reason for NDSU and South Dakota leaving this conference? Where are they going in 2008?

Thanks... he has repaid me with taking me to the Wooden Classic , a Lakers game and to see USC-Notre Dame in football. Seeing the Sioux play hockey I think he still owes me more

If you call this number they can tell you when single game tickets go on sale. Phone: (701)77-SIOUX I always call on the first day and get mine for games I know that I want to attend. I live in St.Cloud and on the day tickets go on sale for hockey, I go over and buy my Sioux tickets for that series. Last year I had a section of 9 of us, buddies flew all the way from L.A. for the weekend. Blizzard but I got them from the airport to the game. Go Sioux!

Maybe I should tell the NCOO that as a Christian I am opposed to the Duke BLUE DEVILS. It bothers me that people cheer for the enemy. Or maybe I should go out and get upset with pro baseball and the Reds because I think it discriminates against all of the other wonderful colors we have. The NFL has the Bears, they scare me and bears have been known to kill people. Let's get rid of them too.

Just reading those names bring back such great memories. I think everyone's choices are great. we have been blessed at und. since we are talking fantasy teams I'd like to watch any of those combos seeing us beat the Gophers and after the game having a cool one at the original Whitey's and having a grinder from the Red Pepper at 1 a.m as I fall into bed
