  1. On a better note, : The SCSU Center Ice Club will host a pregame social with UND hockey fans from 3:30-6:30 p.m. Saturday at Legends Bar and Grill at the Holiday Inn & Suites. There will be complimentary food, prize drawings and the SCSU/UND
  2. Link to article Sounds like protesters are gearing up to meet us this weekend. Remember to turn on your "mute" button when you walk by them. Article in today's St.Cloud paper said that Laasch sat out practice the other day because of a lower body injury but is expected to play this weekend.
  3. For all UND home games we have the basement of the Ultimate Sports Bar reserved for Sioux fans to watch the game. We even have door prizes at the end of each period so pass the word. SCSU broadcasts all of their home games on tv so anyone without a ticket could watch the game there plus have a few colds ones with some Sioux fans.
  4. I'd like us to sweep but have a feeling of a win and a tie.I was up for the NH series and was happy with some of what I saw but frustrated with Saturday night outcome. SCSU really gets up for games against us so we have to be ready. For those of you coming for the game let's be vocal during the game. The Ralph was pretty quiet I thought. No students there but the rest of us have voices. Let's use them. Go Sioux!

    new coach?

My first thought when I read it was 'I wonder if Hedberg from SCSU will consider this?' He has done a good job @ SCSU with the limited help he has gotten from the school. I doubt that Pat Berhns would ever come back to UND. I was there when he was the coach and he was not well liked by many. It will be very interesting to see what happens in the next few months with the search for all of the openings at UND. Realestate agents must be getting excited in GF with all of these moves.
  6. If anyone is looking for tickets for Saturday night send me a message. I think I can round up some in Section 208 or 210. They are $25 a piece (face value). Heading up to GF on Friday a.m. so might not check this board until Monday the 31st. Go Sioux!
  7. That would be great to see those teams in action in that format. I would think the attendance would be better if they keep it along the I-29 route rather than go to MSP.
  8. With all this talk of tickets my prediction is that Sioux fans out number SCSU fans just as we did for football here a couple of years ago. If not out number them we'll be louder. Looking forward to seeing more Sioux fans come to St.Cloud. Welcome and Go Sioux!
  9. Students are in 108-109,(avoid this area) 207, 117-118,213-214. I like the opposite end of the ice because that is the end we shoot at twice. UND gets tickets in Section 208 I believe. SCSU has a few diehards that will stand outside with signs about our name but the group is getting smaller and in the past few years they have had to recruit foreign exchange students . I know because I am a host family for a young man from Hong Kong. He was told last year to come and hold a sign and when he asked why they said, "you can return to your home country and say you were in a protest."He didn't go and for Christmas I gave him a Sioux t shirt which he loves. Here is the link to the NHC http://www.stcloudstate.edu/athletics/tickets/NHCseating.asp
  10. Has anyone seen exact dates of the new schedule for 2008? If so, please post. Thanks Go Sioux!
  11. Kelly Inn is a great choice. There is also the Holiday Inn which is near HWY #15 and close to the mall and a lot of places to eat. We have a great following of Sioux fans in the area. We even have the Ultimate Sports Bar and Partners Pub showing all Sioux home games on their big screens. We have drawings for prizes and it's been fun for us that can't make the trip to GF for the games at the Ralph. This year I bought 16 tickets for each night and we're up in section 210, right next to the tickets they sell the rest of our fans. Last year I had alum friends from L.A. fly out for the weekend. Shouldn't be a problem getting tickets because the students will still be on break. A sweep would be sweet as we start to skate in 2008.
  12. Thanks again AZSioux for the time you put into this. It's fun for us to take a look at the rest of the WCHA with this and I've enjoyed my first season doing it. Have a great Christmas break everyone !
  13. As a HS coach of 25 years I use to put little emphasis on the Conference title but rather had my teams peak for the Regional which would get us to State. In 14 years of coaching CC I had 11 teams peak at Regions and ended up at the Big Show in Nov. I always used the thought of "whatever goes must come down." I didn't want us to be playing our best early and I wanted my teams playing their best at the end of the season. I believe that Hak is using the early part of the season once again to develope the troops and also making sure all of them will be ready in March when it really counts. I remember well last year the fun and excitement of the "March to the Arch" and believe that we'll see the guys in Denver in 08 ready to get the banner that really stands out in the rafters.
  14. I read today that the Sioux will still play SCSU. Do you think they will play that game at home or on the road? This past year the game was in Grand Forks.
  15. I am an alum and former Sioux athlete and I agree...IF we have to drop the name then just go with UND or North Dakota. Still will be wearing my Sioux gear however to everything forever regardless!
  16. I was there too and was impressed. Also saw them when they played NE in the tourney at the U of M in early October. They are improving and I am impressed with the coaching staff. Go Sioux!

    Playoffs

Can someone supply the link for the playoff pairings that includes the dates and locations? I saw a list of all of the Regions but no dates attached. Thanks and as always Go Sioux!
  18. City/State you were born and where you live now? VALLEY CITY, ND / SAUK RAPIDS MN Did you attend UND? YES 1980-1985 B.S.EDUCATION/COACHING Favorite current sioux player? T.J. OSHIE Favorite all time sioux player? PHIL SYKES Favorite all time NON sioux WCHA player and team? MARK JOHNSON (WISCONSIN) SCSU team Are you a season ticket holder? No but make it to games played in St.Cloud, Mankato,Duluth, each year plus about 8 games in Grand Forks.
  19. i'll be at the Sioux -Husky Women's game this weekend and am excited to see them play again. I saw them in action when they played NE in the cities earlier this year. Keep em' going Brian!
  20. "Similar deals have been struck by the Florida State Seminoles and the Central Michigan Chippewas." Does anyone know what those deals were? Any chance we would be talking to those two schools and finding out how they did it?
  21. Whatever happens I will wear my Sioux jersey and jacket to every event forever. Keep in mind everyone whatever happens we still have the best hockey team in the nation, a great football team, awesome basketball programs, and some other wonderful Sioux athletic teams to watch and cheer for. That will never change! GO SIOUX !
  22. I for one am praying for the hearts of the board and that the Sioux name continues to be used at the UND. The PC issues are getting out of control in this world and I am getting tired of it. If I could, I would be at the meeting to support the name on Friday. If anyone can make it, please attend, be proud, wear your colors, be respectable and keep your head up. Go University of North Dakota Fighting Sioux !
  23. Gotta love the Judge's comment on the club which he belonged to over 45 years ago. So in the year 2052 if someone should discover that I was a member of the antique car club in St.Cloud would that label me as someone not suitable to be on the Clean Air Cmmt. in congress? I guess we all better be careful of what we attend these days. I personally wish the papers wouldn't report on any of this and let the courts , lawyers, and judge do their job. When it's all said and done the name will stay the same. GO SIOUX!
  24. Once again after reading all of these posts it shows what first class people Sioux fans are and I'm proud to be one of them. I too wish the injuried player well and hope he recovers to full strength in the future. Keep being the first class people that you all are and let's keep cheering for our team and let's do it with class. Go Sioux!
  25. YES IT SHOULD STAY.... and I believe it will. If for some strange reason it should change, I for one will ALWAYS wear my UND Fighting Sioux clothes to games and cheer "Let's Go Sioux!"
