  1. Funny how the protesters at St.Clown U only came out for the Friday night hockey game to protest. None were found on Saturday nor were any present last night (Thursday) at the basketball games when the Sioux were in town. They must really be passionate for this cause to only come to one event. Our basketball fans felt bad that they weren't screamed at after driving all the way from GF.
  2. I was at the SCSU /UND game tonight. Husky women played with us for the first half which had me concerned. Our depth and adjustments made at the half told the story in the second half. Nice job. Good looking group this year and they ran the floor well. Go Sioux
  3. Just came from the game. A lot of turnovers and some very bad passing. Got down early and had to play catch up. SCSU came out in a zone that seemed to work very good against us. First game I have seen this season and I'm afraid it's my last. I live in St.Cloud and can't make it to GF for any buckets this year.

    Final 5

I believe the Gophers won't even be in the Final 5. I wonder how many tickets will be for sale after they lose the first round of the playoffs? This year the Tourney weekend is on Good Friday (no school for me!) Won't have to have a "Dentist appt." I don't have tickets yet but don't see a problem when very few MN schools will be playing.
  5. I thought after the SCSU game on Saturday that the Sioux have turned the corner and will get hot during the stretch run. I see a sweep at home against MTU and then heading down to Mankato we continue with great hockey sweeping them. Returning home the following weekend against Alaska should have us 6-0 by the time they head to the Twin Cities. I know we should look one series at a time but after attending games this past weekend I'm pretty excited and fired up. My voice just returned this morning after screaming my lungs out this weekend.
  6. Great win and fan support again for the Sioux. A buddy of mine from St.Cloud was very impressed with all the fans we had in attendance. I was hoping that Dunn would have finished the game so I could shout, "It's Over Dunn!" I thought the same about Roe, saw him whine a lot. Looking forward to the next series. Anyone in the St.Cloud area can watch the Sioux home games at Ultimate Sports Bar in Waite Park with a lot of great Sioux fans.
  7. I'm heading out to the game in a few minutes and am committed to come home with no voice left. I'll cheer for those that can't be there. Let's Go Sioux!
  8. I agree... seems that the 'creative writing' is a way to sell more fish wrappers. I hate issues like this because I am a former Sioux athlete and alumni of UND. I know what it's like to be in college and also a student athlete. I wasn't perfect either, non of us are. So quit throwing stones and let's get back to being united and cheering and supporting our team. A buddy of mine from SCSU said he has been loving reading how the Sioux Fans are all fighting against each other on this site. Let's give em' something to read after this weekend about how our team picked up the pace for a warrior not in action Friday night. Let's Go Sioux! Let's Go Sioux!
  9. It's (Holiday Inn) is located on the corner of Division Street and Hwy #15. If you come from the Twin Cities you can take the Hwy #15 exit. Just head North on Hwy 15 and the Holiday Inn will be on your right, (you can't miss it.) The event is open to all Sioux fans and Husky boosters. It sounds like our local chapter of St.Cloud Sioux Boosters will be in attendance. See you there.
  10. I've been to 3 games so far this year and I like the progress. Go Sioux!
  11. On a better note, : The SCSU Center Ice Club will host a pregame social with UND hockey fans from 3:30-6:30 p.m. Saturday at Legends Bar and Grill at the Holiday Inn & Suites. There will be complimentary food, prize drawings and the SCSU/UND
  12. Link to article Sounds like protesters are gearing up to meet us this weekend. Remember to turn on your "mute" button when you walk by them. Article in today's St.Cloud paper said that Laasch sat out practice the other day because of a lower body injury but is expected to play this weekend.
  13. For all UND home games we have the basement of the Ultimate Sports Bar reserved for Sioux fans to watch the game. We even have door prizes at the end of each period so pass the word. SCSU broadcasts all of their home games on tv so anyone without a ticket could watch the game there plus have a few colds ones with some Sioux fans.
  14. I'd like us to sweep but have a feeling of a win and a tie.I was up for the NH series and was happy with some of what I saw but frustrated with Saturday night outcome. SCSU really gets up for games against us so we have to be ready. For those of you coming for the game let's be vocal during the game. The Ralph was pretty quiet I thought. No students there but the rest of us have voices. Let's use them. Go Sioux!

    new coach?

My first thought when I read it was 'I wonder if Hedberg from SCSU will consider this?' He has done a good job @ SCSU with the limited help he has gotten from the school. I doubt that Pat Berhns would ever come back to UND. I was there when he was the coach and he was not well liked by many. It will be very interesting to see what happens in the next few months with the search for all of the openings at UND. Realestate agents must be getting excited in GF with all of these moves.
  16. If anyone is looking for tickets for Saturday night send me a message. I think I can round up some in Section 208 or 210. They are $25 a piece (face value). Heading up to GF on Friday a.m. so might not check this board until Monday the 31st. Go Sioux!
  17. That would be great to see those teams in action in that format. I would think the attendance would be better if they keep it along the I-29 route rather than go to MSP.
  18. With all this talk of tickets my prediction is that Sioux fans out number SCSU fans just as we did for football here a couple of years ago. If not out number them we'll be louder. Looking forward to seeing more Sioux fans come to St.Cloud. Welcome and Go Sioux!
  19. Students are in 108-109,(avoid this area) 207, 117-118,213-214. I like the opposite end of the ice because that is the end we shoot at twice. UND gets tickets in Section 208 I believe. SCSU has a few diehards that will stand outside with signs about our name but the group is getting smaller and in the past few years they have had to recruit foreign exchange students . I know because I am a host family for a young man from Hong Kong. He was told last year to come and hold a sign and when he asked why they said, "you can return to your home country and say you were in a protest."He didn't go and for Christmas I gave him a Sioux t shirt which he loves. 20. Has anyone seen exact dates of the new schedule for 2008? If so, please post. Thanks Go Sioux!
  21. Kelly Inn is a great choice. There is also the Holiday Inn which is near HWY #15 and close to the mall and a lot of places to eat. We have a great following of Sioux fans in the area. We even have the Ultimate Sports Bar and Partners Pub showing all Sioux home games on their big screens. We have drawings for prizes and it's been fun for us that can't make the trip to GF for the games at the Ralph. This year I bought 16 tickets for each night and we're up in section 210, right next to the tickets they sell the rest of our fans. Last year I had alum friends from L.A. fly out for the weekend. Shouldn't be a problem getting tickets because the students will still be on break. A sweep would be sweet as we start to skate in 2008.
  22. Thanks again AZSioux for the time you put into this. It's fun for us to take a look at the rest of the WCHA with this and I've enjoyed my first season doing it. Have a great Christmas break everyone !
  23. As a HS coach of 25 years I use to put little emphasis on the Conference title but rather had my teams peak for the Regional which would get us to State. In 14 years of coaching CC I had 11 teams peak at Regions and ended up at the Big Show in Nov. I always used the thought of "whatever goes must come down." I didn't want us to be playing our best early and I wanted my teams playing their best at the end of the season. I believe that Hak is using the early part of the season once again to develope the troops and also making sure all of them will be ready in March when it really counts. I remember well last year the fun and excitement of the "March to the Arch" and believe that we'll see the guys in Denver in 08 ready to get the banner that really stands out in the rafters.
  24. I read today that the Sioux will still play SCSU. Do you think they will play that game at home or on the road? This past year the game was in Grand Forks.
  25. I am an alum and former Sioux athlete and I agree...IF we have to drop the name then just go with UND or North Dakota. Still will be wearing my Sioux gear however to everything forever regardless!
