  1. The law mandates that all are "innocent until proven guilty." As such, we MUST (so long as you agree with the Constitution) assume that they did nothing wrong unless and until the State proves their guilt beyond a reasonable doubt. Mistake is a defense under the law. Meaning, hypothetically, it the boys were merely "in" the bar and they thought or were told that they could be there (i.e. kids allowed after X p.m.) and they believed it or they were told that by a reasonable means, then they have the defense. However, if they were drinking under age, then they are screwed. As for Bina, see above. What a police office "says" happened and what really happened are often (and by often I mean more times than not) different, than this may play out much different than the public at large will know. Just hope Bina can afford a good lawyer. Say... like me! Either way, this is not the 1st or 100th time this has happened in the time that this program has existed... and it won't be the last. So... and in the meanwhile... just follow Sioux hockey and what will be will be.
  2. Amen. And, remember, the Goofs only sweep us in OUR building, not theres.
  3. Ditto...
  4. Video is working now...
  5. It is called "adding insult to injury" and although one goal does not a game make, it sure does inhibit flow and momentum when you allow a BS running the goalie goal and then have a linesman make a behind the play call that the ref didn't call that turns into a PP goal. True. UND should kill that PP. Also true. UND should not have been in a position where they HAD to kill that PP. Nevertheless, UND is playing not to lose (and not well) and not taking ANY chances. I would rather lose 10-2 with numerous chances for not than play tight and lose 5-2 and blame the refs. UND needs to chance everything - for at least one period - if we are to have a chance. JMHO.
  6. Since when did UAA become the land of homer-ish calls in the WCHA. It ain't like we are playing Minnesota AT Minnesota! That call (even if legit) was BS since Shep was WATCHING the play and decided to NOT make the call. The line call should only happen when Shep was out of position and didn't see the call. And now UAA score on that penalty. The ref plan plays out perfectly. Maybe we should hire them as consultants to design our PP?
  7. Why can't we just shoot on the power play and not try and have a friggin "highlight" goal on every PP? Talent should prevail on the PP and we are not showing it...
  8. As a 1998 grad of UND and long-time resident of Minneapolis, I can honestly say that there was something very special about the "scene" in GF in that 1993-1997 era. The bars were fun, the hockey was good and the people were nice. Sure, not your typical "small town" that may be the point of this thread (and I too grew up in Burlington, ND), but I sure miss The Antique!
  9. I read through all of the posts and maybe missed it directly, but the game IS on at Joe Senser's in Bloomington, right? Also, I agree 100%, but for the Sioux, the best program hands down is Maine... and my mom is from there, so... As good as Maine appears to be, I still think the Sioux get a sweep at home as I honestly think that this may be the best team "on the ice" (i.e. read not just talent pool, rather, but the way they actually play together) since the then unknown guys from 1997.
  10. Yep. Have the FTA as well as the Dish fox pack with ESPNU and CSTV and all that. However, would prefer to forego all that to just turn on a channel upon my move. Thanks for the info everyone. Much appreciated!!!
  11. I take back the "I LOVE YOU, MAN" thing as I just checked midco channel 33 and that is FSN (i.e. Fox Sports - North) not the Fighting Sioux Sports Network. Did I make a mistake or are people just messing with my emotions. Now I have to tape back together my divorce papers (just kidding).
  12. I LOVE YOU, MAN!!!! Whew... now I don't have to get divorced and stay in Minneapolis.
  13. Moving from Minneapolis back to North Dakota (Bismarck) and wondering if the FSSN is on regular TV in Bismarck like it seems to be in Grand Forks, Fargo and Minot? Please say it is!!!!
  14. Since when does loyalty have anything to do with time? For example, and on a unrelated note, if you moved to a place and loved it but you were offered a better paying job doing the same thing somewhere else and you left... would that make you "unloyal" to the place you once and still do love? Time and dedication sometimes have nothing to do with each other. UND hockey players are not here to amuse and satisfy the gratifications of us fans. If they come to UND and give us even one moment to remember them by and then must move on due to better fortunes, it is not our job to begrudge them, but to thank them and simply wish that the time they spent here could have been longer. They are students, yes. But we all know that... for the lucky ones anyway... their dreams and futures lie in the NHL and we should in no way degrade them for following their dreams as opposed to staying to merely keep alive the well-wishing and viewing desires of the UND hockey following. My rant is done...
  15. I have a 62 inch HD TV in the Uptown area of Minneapolis that is wide open to any sioux fan who wants to watch the game with two other HUGE (by fan support, not size) Sioux fans. Email me at harveyskees@hotmail.com and I will give you directions. Will be watching both games so join in if you are in the Minneapolis area.
  16. That would be great. Email it to me if you have time. Can you also send it to harvey@mnduiguy.com too.

    Prohibition

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IT makes IT that much more enjoyable? Goal scored by UND sober = awesome! Goal scoreed by UND on Captain and Coke #7 = ecstasy (the feeling, not the drug)!
  19. Like I said in earlier posts, I have had all the Fox channels all year on Dishnetwork and have watched a lot of college hockey in all parts of the country this year. In MY experience, I will say this in general... WCHA = inconsistent calling of penalites HEA/ECAC/Everyone else = consistent calling of penalties and by the book (i.e. checking from behind is checking from behind whether the person gets hurt or not and cross-checking near the boards is cross-checking and not checking from behind) All in all, and with UND's style of play, I think that we will get more penalties for interference and hooking and calls like that rather than our normal checking from behind and slashing and others that have seemed to haunt us. That being said, I think our D will be more able to play D whereas our smaller forwards had better use their legs more and their sticks less... less they be in the box!
  20. I love the "I'd love to cut Toews some slack, and I will, but I just can't believe he is the 2nd best undrafted player in the world at this point" line. It IS hard to believe that he is the 2nd best... because I would now put him in 1st above Kessel... and word has it that I am not the only one.
  21. In all honesty (and after having watched about 30 hours of hockey in the past few days) I would say that the best teams (potential in toto, not just recent play) are as follows: 1) Minnesota 2) Boston U. 3T) Wisconsin 3T) Michigan State 3T) UND 6) New Hampshire 7) Boston College 8) Michigan Miami, despite having a good record against some good teams, does not impress me (insert "Anyone can beat anyone on any given night" quote here) as much as the others. And, I waffled a bit on putting Minnesota ahead of Boston U. Does anyone else remember that last time Boston U. and UND won their conference championships in the same year? 1997 baby!!!
  22. Me three!!! And, IMHO, I think USCHO will get it exactly right. The only ? is whether Minnesota gets Holy Cross or Bemidji. And, if we do play Michigan, we friggin owe them as I still have tickets to the Frozen Four in Boston that I didn't get to use in 1998!
  23. I can only assume Bonzer's would be the best for a "meeting" place since they have great beer, a back/side room that can be reserved, is heaviliy involved with UND athletics and is the after-game place to be on most nights, so... I would give Bonzer's my vote and go BW-3 second. I am sure if you called John Bonzer and asked to set something up for $$$ he would listen very carefully.
  24. Someone see who has a shuttle to the game (i.e. maybe Dagwood's or Buffalo Wild Wings) and plan from there. I am in and I am bringing my whole clan of cavebearers with me...

    Final 5

Yes. I would love a little UMD smack down on U of M at the X! And, the way UMD handled themselves at DU, I don't even think I would consider it much of an upset at this point...
