  1. I had back surgery on Thursday (and can't drive for 10 days and am not supposed to go to work for 4 weeks!) and I am still going! SUCK IT UP!!!
  2. All I can go on is last night. The over the goal angle didn't have Stapleton in the picture and it was ruled a goal and they went to the replay and ruled no goal and the only way they could have done that was by using the FOX-RM feed replay which was inconclusive. Therefore, they did (and can?) use another angle? Right or wrong... they did it!
  3. In the DU v. UMD game, they use the FOX-RM video to rule a high stick on Stapleton (I think it was Stapleton... I was drunk!). Therefore, I think they "have" to use the goal cam, but can use any angle available to them to make the call.
  4. "Miller grabs stick and drops to ice" you mean!
  5. They disable the "context menu" which is kinda like the cable company sending you 5 of 50 channels and saying "live with it." I don't know of any way to override it at this point. Better than nothin... go SIOUX!
  6. They disabled the ability to "right click" and put it at full screen earlier in the year. It pi$$es me off as I used to run my computer to my 62" LCD HDTV and watch the games and now it does no good because you can't expand it.
  7. As they say, its hard to push off from your back! We had too many short-handed situations to really play "our game" that period. That being said, I think that our PK is looking average to good and Mankato, for what it is worth, is playing offensive but not with any real spark. If that continues, I look for the Sioux to have more and more odd-man rushes as the game rolls on. Now back to your regularly scheduled program...
  8. Go to www.theralph.com and click on something like "watch the sioux" and then click on men's hockey... a new window should pop up... in that window should be a "My Account" tab... click it... enter email address and password... click on your most recent order number and then "watch" and that should do it if they took your money...
  9. So true. Even if it was a high stick, they called goal and there is NO WAY that the replay on FSNRM showed that to be played with a high stick. Although his stick appeared to hit it on the way down, "where" it hit the puck in that motion could not be determined from the replay, meaning... goal should have counted. Sandelin and company are pissed and rightfully so. Do you REALLY need to give a two-time defending champion the breaks at home?
  10. That hasn't counted UND's win tonight yet... Our record is 24-15-1 and the PWR has it listed as 23-15-1, so... not up to date yet...
  11. It seems that with the New Hampshire v. BC tie and the DU win v. CC, DU has climbed into a "natural" 11 in the PWR with UND at 13 in the PWR with DU at 9 and UND at 10 with a .003-.002-.001 bonus in the same PWR. EEEK... Looks like this UND v. Tech (and the playoff series after) is shaping up just as the USCHO experts predicted. Guess that is why they make the big bucks doing something that the rest of us do for free on a daily basis.
  12. I agree with the past rulings on this rule. However, with the reemphasis on it that they put into play at the beginning of each season, maybe next season (or for the rest of this season) they can rework the "emphasis" put on this rule and call the call that should be made. A prime example was the five minute major at the beginning of the game on Friday night. YES, it was a check "from behind." However, it was only from "behind" because the DU player saw him coming and turned toward the boards while being hit as the UND player was maintaining the status quo (i.e. not changing his line or momentum or angle of attack). In that case, you can fault the UND player for not letting up, but don't exuberate the penalty to a checking from behind because the player saw him coming and faced the boards to avoid a legit check! That is all I mean and I am sure you know that and know how difficult it is for the refs to "change now" this late in the season when that same play as been called (wrongfully IMHO) the whole year. However, as they say, better late than never!
  13. Once again, PCM, you are the balance of all harmony that is Sioux hockey!
  14. I would be happen with just a re-definition of the rule at this point. At least put something in that accounts for a "turn of the body" in a defensive (as opposed to a defenseless) position that would allow for anything from a 2 minute to a 10 minute penalty depending on the situation.
  15. Last week's officiating was about par for WCHA officials. Admit their mistakes by make-ups later in the game/series. However, the 3rd period calls were 1/2 the Sioux and 1/2 officiating. Either way, we can't let it come down to the refs against Tech. Put as many shots on goal as possible against Tech and let our "better" players bang in the rebounds or otherwise capitalize on defensive mistakes and stay out of the box. I honestly believe that if we can limit our penalties to 10 minutes or less (with no 5 minute penalites), we WILL (not just CAN) beat anyone in the country even strength with the "talent" (i.e. potential shown thus far) on this team...
  16. I know we dropped one to Tech at a Winter Carnival some years back (post-Blake and pre-Parise), but I honestly can't remember the last time we lost to Tech at home? Was Andy Sutton playing the last time they won here? EDIT: Answered my own question... Fri 10/20/2000 UND 4 Michigan Tech 5 mtu-5 Clint Way (Jarrett Weinberger, Matt Ulwelling) GWG 5x4 14:32
  17. If the weather is below freezing, I can contact the CARAG ([Lake] Calhoun Area Residents Action Group) and reserve Bryant Square Park which has both a full size outdoor rink and an outdoor boarded hockey rink. I am having back surgery on the 9th of March which is preventing me from playing. However, I would love to have everyone in the Uptown area (the park is on the corner of 31st and Bryant which is about 5 blocks from the heart of Uptown, Minneapolis i.e. the "other" downtown bar district). If you are interested, email me at harveyskees@hotmail.com and I will see what I can arrange for the game (and would be happy to do it!).
  18. I am not a season ticket holder and I ordered mine in September or October (or whenever the first weekend was?) and have had my tickets for at least three months. No kidding! I was surprised as I have three seats in like Section 103, Row C, Seats 5-7... did I get lucky or is this the norm?
  19. I agree. He is like Sasha Muleen (sp?) from St. Cloud from years back. I swear to god... he played from 1996 - 2004? He must have had a redshirt, a medical hardship, a year off, suspended, and then four regular years to get that much mileage!
  20. You, need! Punctuation, ? In that sentence to make it... make, sense;!!!
  21. Nice! That is 5 blocks from my house. I will look out for any Sioux fans in drag. And, if I see any, would give that poor soul the money for the tickets rather than having a "Crying Game" in my hood!
  22. I still say T.J. is the best player on the ice for the Sioux as of late...
  23. Yes. However, it appears that CC (the closest #2 seed) would be a lesser #2 and, at least for now, would go to another region. Of course - and it goes without saying - this can all change very quickly. Just giving the IMHO based upon todays stats.
  24. It's like this... If UND ends up a #4 seed, no WCHA team comes here. It seems improbable (if not impossible) that Wisconsin of Minnesota does not end up a #1 seed. If the above occurs, UND wil play another #1 (seemingly either Miami or Boston U or Michigan State [with CC being next in line but also having to be sent elsewhere]). That leaves us with Miami (whom we've beat) or Boston U (who we have no fear of and a pretty good recent post season record against) and Michigan State (who is on a tear and beat us early in the year and who is playing great and... who we have some payback to give!). If the above #4 seed happens for UND, I have no problem with either of the three in waiting. Not that we can't be beat by them, just that the fact that we have played them this year or often leads me to believe that: (a) we won't be intimidated by them; and (b) Hak will have enough coaching verus their skill to at least keep it close (assuming average to good goaltending by JPar or that other guy who plays every once in a while).
  25. Probably just in need of having his meds adjusted... As for the point of the post, it does appear that UND (with the Friday win at DU alone and some help from other teams?) has pretty much secured itself a spot in the tournament with average play here on out. Not that I want that (and I still say we need to win our series and win or "score a lot" in a play in game for the "Final Five" to make it), but I would OK with a 3 or 4 at home against the Goofs or anyone else at this point.
