I heard that I am mad becuase you still havent learned how to spell!!! But on another note the CCHA is a weaker conference than the WCHA. Ferris State is not historically a power house even though that could be changing, but the only other historically great hockey programs in the CCHA are Michigan, Michigan State, Northern Michigan is an up and down team year by year. Ohio State has been decent since about 5 years ago but before that they were nothing to speak of. Lake Superior was a powerful program in the early to mid 90s but are nothing much to speak of now. It seems that the WCHA and HE have more teams every year that could win it. The WCHA has UND, UM, CC, DU, MSU-MANK, SCSU, and UMD that could really beat on most teams in a given night. HE has 4 teams that could do a lot of damage as well (BU, BC, Maine, and New Hampshire, Providence and UMASS also have their moments) But I may partial to WCHA hockey but I really think a WCHA team will take it all the way CC and the Gophers have a great shot. I wouldn't mind seeing the Sioux making a run for the money as well though. LETS GO SIOUX

Granted- Kunitz is a huge threat for UND with 74pts (33g-41a) but Ferris also has 2 other scorers in the Top 20. Jeff League (C, So) 23g-35a-59pts is #8 and Derek Nesbitt (So, LW) 18g-32a-50pts is tied for number for 15th. Thier netminder is 29-9-1 with a .926 save % and a 2.23 gaa. There are some threats there, and the Sioux would be well served by not looking foreward to the Gophers or they will never get to play them.

looks like MIDCO cable has the authorization for the games in ND and SD if you dont have MIDCO you may be a little out of luck.

AMEN Diggler... After 2 years at the Ralph I still feel it is missing something. I think it is too nice, the building needs to age a little and get grungy and a little nasty... Then it will be a true college building!!!

I may be mistaken but wasnt Grant Potulny the only player on the Gophers last year? I see the Lucia has really cut all of Wooger's team and gotten 25 year old canucks to win championships!!!

And I dont mind if they hear it from us, but their parents do, and instead of not putting the kids in that situation they try to modifiy the 2000 students around them. Sorry guys it ain't happening.

No question on that one. Maybe the overtime winner on Saturday night, but the "Game 7" mentality where both teams are in a do or die situation that makes it all special.

OK....I tend to take exception to all the student bashing going on at hockey games. The students make that arena what it is. If it werent for the students the place would be as quiet as a movie theater showing a Charlie Chaplin movie. I think something odd happens to people when they graduate college, they forget all the crazy $h!t that went on when they were still in school. And they forget that they did the same things that those before them did, and thats what goes on now... People were saying "Who's he, he sucks poop" long before I ever got to UND. Think about that Philly and Boston. I have been going to UND for the last 4 hockey seasons and I have seen 2 seasons in the old ralph and the new "improved" ralph. I have seen things that stuck me as both intimidating and entertaining. I have seen couchs set on fire (outside the old ralph- 2000/2001 season- Saturday game vs the dirty gophers) and dead gophers being tossed on to the ice. I know that sounds pretty bad, but I heard stories of dead badgers (you heard that right BADGERS) being hung from the rafters of the old ralph and swung over the ice, NOW THATS CREATIVE!!! Kinda makes us look like rookies. I also tend to hear a lot of complaints from parents who think it is a good idea to buy tickets for a Sioux Hockey game for their 10 year old son, they always forget that the child will be sitting in the student section around a bunch of rowdy and possibly semi-inebreated college students. Its funny in the old building I never once saw any small children in the student section. The folks at the Ralph have done many things to silence the student section, they have moved many students to the upper deck and they are now going to take the lower deck seats behind the penalty boxes and move them to one of the corners behind the net, further splitting up the students. You all forget that those players on the ice are STUDENTS at UND and that is our team, our tuition pays for those scholarships. I apologize to the Sioux fans who remember what it was like to be a student but many have forgetten whats its like to be a student. When we moved over to the new arena capicity was doubled that meant that half of the building had not had sioux tickets for years if at all. Maybe they had forgotten what college hockey is all about. If you don't like the atmosphere at the games I suggest that you stay home and watch the game on TV or over the internet. Each attempt to control or silence the students only makes them angrier and louder. Maybe we should just be left alone and a little common sence should be used, if you dont like the way the students act, get tickets somewhere else, or stay home. Oh yeah.... I do remeber the fact that the students used to like to stand for the whole game, and we were asked to stop due to other peoples inability so see. OK after a little controversy the students are now sitting for most of the game with the exception of power plays and other critical times. Even now I hear people yelling at us to sit down, and my responce during those times is "Why are you not standing" Hopefully you are there to support the team so just remember its OK to vocalize that. If you dont want the swear--dont, and maybe things will change over time but as for now its what it is so live with it. ---Northstar would agree with me too---

Now someone just has to tell Blais that Brant is the #1 guy and dont play any one else!!!

I think the Ice Excuse is BS... Both teams have to play on the same crappy ice. Some how I tned (sorry I had a siouxrock moment) to believe that there is something else there, not just the ice.

Siouxrock--- #1 It is the year 2003 why are you proud of a mullet? #2 FOR THE LOVE OF GOD PLEASE LEARN TO SPELL #3 Its not cool to lie about playing hockey for Red River, I have serious doubts of the fact that you are either old enough or smart enough to play for RR. I know this is a public forum and what not and I don't think its fair to deny someone the ability to commicate on this board, but I think you really need to take some care in what you say. If not for your self do it for everybody that is stuck reading your unintellible drivel!!!

Thanks Jim You See Siouxrock... 10000 visitors per month on this site if only 10 percent browse the forums that means that 1000 people read the things you say. I guess you should be glad that you can hide behind a screen name and no one has to know who you really are. I have read some things from other topics on this site and somethings that you have said have bordered on the offensive. Please think before you speak and instead of trying to create arguements and conflict (which is good sometimes ) maybe you should try to add something to the conversation. If you don't have anything productive to say why don't you just sit there and read whats here and wait until you have something interesting to say before you chime in.

Well thats a step in the right direction. Now you have to work on the punctiation and capitalization! Dude, I am just saying this because it sucks having to read something 3 times to figure out what you mean to say. There a lot of people that read these boards.

Dude--- I have problems buying the fact that the good folks over at Red River HS would allow someone to play hockey for them that can't SPELL THE WORD HOCKEY!!! I have refrained from saying anything, but the grammar gods are crying!! Please take the time to type out what you want to say, and then proof-read it.

Overall I think that Mike had a pretty good year, played solid hockey consistently. My guess is that he will have a solid carrer with the Sioux as a physical forward. Maybe similar to Ryan Hale(?) with a little more scoring in a few years.
