That's not a surprise. It's no different than the Minnesota Wild selling 6,000 new season ticket packages since signing Zach Parise and Ryan Suter. There is a lot of excitement around the team and Wild fans have been waiting for something positive to happen for a while. Bison fans stuck it out through the long transition from DII and playing for/winning a National Championship created a whole new level of excitement for the program. Like the Wild, the Bison football bandwagon has grown drastically.

This news initially came out a few weeks ago around the same time that Rocco skipped the Florida Panthers Development camp. At the time, Florida's GM said that Rocco wasn't participating in camp due to college issues*, not because of his knee. *No clue what those college issues would be since Rocco was (and as far as I know still is) in California. Also, in mid-June Rocco tweeted that he was at the rink skating so it sounds like his recovery is going well. It would be nice to get an update though.

Mike Guentzel's son Jake has committed to UNO for 2013

Dean Blais announced today that goaltender Ryan Massa (former Fargo Force player) will take a year off for "personal reasons." He would have been a junior. UNO will have John Faulkner (Sr.), Dayne Belfour (So.), and Anthony Stolarz (Fr.). Massa had the best numbers last season - 7 wins, GAA 2.60, SV% .914.

Zach Parise has been named an Alternate Captain for the Wild
