  1. @UNDMHockey: UND going with same lineup as last Saturday. Panzarella in, Mattson out. Saunders starts in goal. EDIT: MacMillan-Knight-Kristo Caggiula-Rowney-Grimaldi O'Donnell-St. Clair-Gaarder Senkbeil-Pattyn-Rodwell MacWilliam-Panzarella Simpson-Gleason Forbort-Schmaltz Saunders Gothberg
  2. Sports Illustrated - University of North Dakota hockey is quite an experience
  3. I debated whether or not to post a link to that article. Judging by the author's recent twitter activity he's relishing all the attention/page views. I didn't want to feed his 'ego.'
  4. More insight on the Thompson situation With Minnesota returning seven defensemen from last year's team (including Thompson) and adding both Brady Skjei (New York Rangers) and Mike Reilly (Columbus Blue Jackets), there was little room on the depth chart for Thompson to play. The blue line situation doesn't clear up much next season either. They only have one senior and even with early departures the Gophers have 2-3 defensive recruits between Michael Brodzinksi, Jake Bischoff and Tommy Vannelli that could come in next year. I figured something would have to give. Minnesota's recruiting pipeline is quite deep at the moment. It will be interesting to see how they juggle all their committed forwards over the next couple of years.
  5. In the postgame presser Hakstol said he didn't think the d corps played very well on Friday night and that Panzarella has been working real hard in practice and they wanted to make a change. He said he thought Panzarella brought a lot of energy to the d corps Saturday night and that he was consistent and reliable throughout the game.
  6. Only lineup change for UND is Panzarella in, Mattson out Brittain gets the start for DU
  7. Joe Sensers in Bloomington is always a safe bet
  8. If I remember correctly, the Fargo Force hold Morelli's USHL rights and he tried out for the team this past summer but didn't make it.
  9. Latest update on Quentin Shore At this point he should just go, imo. Teammates, coaches, and fans know that he has been exploring his options. If he stays, will he still be completely dedicated to DU with Portland in the back of his mind?
  10. Via Ryan Kennedy of The Hockey News: Shore has 7 points in 14 games.

  14. Via MN Hockey Hub article Schools that have shown interest in Connor Hurley: Minnesota, Wisconsin, Notre Dame, Minnesota-Duluth, Michigan State, Ohio State, Denver and Nebraska-Omaha.... no UND? UND is one of the schools Shane Gersich has visted but most feel he will end up at Minnesota because he has a lot of family ties to UM. I believe his father played there and he is the nephew of Neal, Aaron and Paul Broten. With that said, I certainly won't complain if one or both surprises and picks UND.
  15. Portland Winterhawks hit hard with penalties for a series of "player benefit violations" It's nice to see the CHL cracking down on illegal recruiting tactics by some teams
  16. Via College Hockey News Edit: Official release from the CCHA: http://www.ccha.com/...eprimanded.aspx
  17. FWIW, they do have a regular ice hockey team as well. That team was the one competing in South Bend last weekend. I originally picked the other photo because you can really see the logo
  18. Wisconsin swept by Mankato at the Kohl Center. Ouch! UW's record currently stands at 1-7-2 overall, 1-5-2 WCHA
  19. Didn't know where to put this so I thought I would throw it here Via Brad Schlossman, there is a high school team in South Bend, IN using an altered version of the Sioux logo
  20. It was a frustrating game but I don't think it was that bad. They actually played better tonight than they did last night. Still a lot of pieces to pull together though...
  21. Notre Dame has gotten away with at least three Checking From Behind penalties this weekend. Ridiculous!
