  1. Little late to the party, but what a great weekend to be at the Ralph. 'Lil tDon's spear of Trupp was about as cheap as is gets. But to then jaw with Jones, get called out and offered up a chance to settle it but then goes tail between the legs is as Sally as is comes. There is a reason there is a saying involving an apple and a tree! Let's hope this is the turning point for both teams for the 2nd half of the season. A Sioux team that knows it can complete with lots of effort and dominates from here on out and a Gopher team that, once again, has the leadership from a bunch of WWF wannabes and will continue to crumble like the past few years.
  2. And that is different than MSNBC/CNN and their drooling over the Prez elect? At least Favre and Tebow have a resume!
  3. That's because he still hasn't been able to get all the ink off the inside of his hands and fingers!
  4. That's because plumbing and sunlight have to come first!! PS: Save the baby seals!
  5. Great game and awesome atmosphere. Sioux finally played with some passion and the result was a dominating performance. E still gives up too many juicy rebounds and is out of position on occasion, but at least he wasn't Kangas-like! Stoa was UM's best player all night but is alittle chirpy and chippy for wearing a "C". Was watching Ness too. Actually thought he would be better from all the hype. Got alittle concerned when Hak had them come out in the "prevent defense" to start the 3rd. I understand that philosophy, but when the boys are sticking down the Goph's throats, why take the foot off the gas? Can't say anything but each Sioux up and down the lineup was either solid or great last night. Was a real treat to be at the game!
  6. Dude, they were about 50 feet from my seats. Great entertainmnet in between play. 2 of the 4 were absolute knockouts! Hope they are back tonight! Had the game gone on a couple more period and alcohol became a bigger factor, we could have had a "Girls Gone Wild" moment!
  7. So you despise Favre and now Tebow. Are you anti-leaders? You must just like the athletes that run their mouths and then don't produce? These 2 guys are arguably 2 of the best leaders ever in their respected arenas: pro and college FB. So there is a reason they get more press and love from the media. In 3 years at UF, Tebow has 2 NC's, 2 Maxwell's and a Heisman. Not to mention he is even a better person than an athlete!!
  8. To think that the new UND Pres and AD would continue with the current nickname and logo after the timeframe set and without Tribal approval is laughable. It would be suicide for the university and that won't happen.
  9. Again what is the hang up? There is something in place to resolve the nickmane issue in accordance with the NCAA.
  10. Lack of leadership? What we do have is those who won't keep their noses out of our business. There is a PROPER arrangement to handle the nickname/logo issue as already agreed apon between UND and the NCAA. Leadership? SU has a rogue Prez who is going to ask for a bailout soon because of his poor financial management of his institution. SU is a complete mess financially and who is running that ship. And Taylor, again, is gutless and deceitful. To hide behind the nickname issues, as Taylor is, is weak. No one is placing blame, but is asking those without perspective to stay the h*** out of this.
  11. Weather looks to be good for travel for all today. Should be a great series. UND needs to play better than they have played lately to get a split. I like UND tonight, Gophs tomorrow.
  12. Am I missing something here? UND has reached an agreement with the NCAA about the nickname/logo and that situation will be resolved one way or the other by 2010. Where in any of this does a potential conference Commish get the right to now dictate action above and beyond an agreement between the 2 parties involved? Where does Taylor have any say in this other than being spiteful and continuing to hold UND under his foot for nothing more than revenge? This is getting pathetic! Chapman does nothing but put SU farther and farther in the red financially at the expense of his own glory. Taylor is a snotty little 12 year old playground bully, who is bent on nothing more that getting even with UND. Now you get some lame Commish of a mid-major D1 conference throwning his one testicle into the ring. UND will have the current nickname/logo at the 2010 or it won't and that will be in accordance with the agreement between UND and the NCAA. I'm a huge supporter of the current nickname/logo and I'll take whatever happens when a final decision is made based on the agreement between UND and the NCAA, but I'm fed up with NDSU and Taylor and their "see I told you" attitude. And now this D-bag from the Summitt conference is trying to wield a big stick. Can someone rub me down with Calamine lotion as I'm starting to breakout in a rash!!
  13. Correct. Fargo is now on the northern edge of the heavy snow band.
  14. With the winter we've had so far, we call 6" of snow a "dusting" in Fargo. No worries. I'm going to make it and I'm not leaving 'til late afternoon tomorrow.
  15. Forecast for snow storm has shifted farther south than initially thought. New snow predictions tonight thru Sat. night: GF 2.5" and Fargo 6.5". Wind not as severe as first thought either. High winds coming Sunday/Monday.
  16. I assume that is after you use Yellowbird's column to wipe your arse with!
  17. Dude that's cold! But did hear that the FPD cuts it's force by 5 due to him leaving town.
  18. We have good quality players up and down the lineup, but no "studs". And with a couple of guys underproducing from previous years, scoring goals is the biggest concern for this team. And as we all know, if you don't score, your chances to win go down dramatically!
  19. Current snow predictions for the RR Valley Thurs. pm thru Sat. pm: GF 7+" and Fargo 3".
  20. Have you seen us play this year?
  21. Correct. There will always be FA busts in any pro league, but by and large NOT spending money is generally a sure way of having a less talented roster. Was B. Berrian a great sign...not really for the money, but he was an upgrade at WR. Was Andruw Jones a great sign...hardly, but based on numbers who would have thought he would have tanked that bad? FA is a risk, but the main difference between MLB and NFL is the guarenteed contracts. And the fact that there is not an industry of more overpayed employees than MLB, so from that standpoint FA is more of a crap shoot in MLB. But when fans know ownership isn't spending $$ when they could, the fans suffer as does the rest of the players on that team as their overall talent COULD be better.
  22. Drove up from Fargo last Sat. for the game. Roads, themselves, were good up and back, but lots of blowing and drifting. And could GF county or the powers that be get a f-n plow out on I-29!! Basically was one lane traffic in and out of GF for 15+ miles because drifting was so bad. Sounds like weather going to be close to the same as last Sat. Drive smart and you'll be ok. I know we are coming regardless.
  23. You are right and wrong, but without question you are making this more complicated than it needs to be. NFL has a cap, MLB doesn't. Revenue sharing a completely different. Bottom line is money buys talent. If the Twins wanted to spend more, they would have more talent, but I realize they don't have the money like the Yankees. There are many NFL teams below the cap and are unwilling to spend. The Twins have less money than most MLB teams, but still have spent less than what they could have in a effort to save money over the years, thus getting less talent than they possibly could have. Owners willing to spend in either league provide a better talent pool for their teams and thus a better opportunity to win...period.
  24. 5 if you pencil in the 2 to GB!
  25. The best off season move for my Packers and the other NFC North teams is to have Chilly back at the helm of the Vikes. He is worth at least 2 losses a season on his own. Poor play calling, poor game planning, poor clock management. This Viking's team was exposed for what they are...an overrated defensive team, poor special team's coverage and a one-trick pony offense. Whose available out there at QB? D. Anderson, Losman, Kitna, Alex Smith??? If they finish over .500 next year, I'd be suprised. CHI and GB should be better than Minny next year.
