    UND v GVSU

Are you Dale Lennon? Because if he hasn't stated all those points in his halftime address he is watching a different game. But that summary is what I have seen as well.

    UND v GVSU

Was there any game planning in place for today for the offense?? Watching the game on TV, it looks like there was "hope" that Chappel could go effectively from the first couple series but since that has not been the case the offense has looked absolutely lost. It is the playoffs and if you can't run the ball or stop the run you're done. The D line looks similar to the UNO game as well. Not saying it's over, but Brittney Spears (fat lady) is warming up...
  3. Genoway gets the game winner BOTH nights!! Sioux 3-1 and 5-2
  4. I would take the over on the French in a war vs. "those dullards" and that in itself is pathetic
  5. Great shots! Except for the one of Chappel with the boot on crutches
  6. Then we should be set to run it down their throat with Battle
  7. Obviously the coaching staff felt Chappel was well enough to play against WSU even though he was alittle banged up after the USD game. To say it was "never safe to make such assumptions" about the outcome of the WSU game is questionable at best (like Chappel will be come Sat.). If you know he is somewhat banged up going into the WSU game and if you know he is more dinged up before halftime and if you know Murray is not going to return in the second half due to a serious injury and if you have any faith in your defense, Chappel doesn't play in the 2nd half. You can make the case, as some have done about UNO a couple of years coming back, that at 20-2 the game wasn't a lock, but in all sporting events scenerios play out that dictate decisions. As a sports fan and nothing more than that, my opinion is that they could have won the game playing Battle the 2nd half without risking Chappel for GVSU. At least half of my opinion was right.
  8. Sorry...You did you use ALL but not in the way I perceived. Thought you lent me the brush?? But with the weekend over I'll return it...
  9. There in lies the difference! And were we at the same game because at no point did I have a feeling WSU was going to do anything offensively in the 2nd half after watching them in the first half. 1-SAN-QUENTIN
  10. But we are not playing Auggie at home next week!! Not saying that Battle is not capable, but Chappel is the engine that drives the bus in that offense and next weekend on the road, I don't think Battle is going to be the answer. I'm just disappointed that the team is potentially in this situation when it didn't have to be if some better judgement had been used coming out at halftime.
  11. My initial point exactly. Let me preface this by saying I'm a big Lennon supporter, but with Murray already out mid 2nd with the shoulder, why would you risk losing Chappel after he hobbeld off at halftime? Lennon was qouted as saying he didn't feel they had control at halftime. Was I at a different game?? WSU couldn't run to the toilet!! Poll the 5400 ( which in itself is an embarrassment) at the game and I would be shocked if 10 said WSU had any chance greater than ZERO to come back in the 2nd half. And essentially what happened out of necessity instead of choice is you play your 3rd string RB and get the victory. Now, at best, we have our top 2 RB banged up if they even take the field at all. I thought there were some questionable coaching decisions vs. UNO, but playing Chappel in the 2nd half with all the other circumstances is inexcusable, especially if he isn't close to 100% next Sat.
  12. Was at the game and he left the field after the injury without being able to put pressure on his right foot/leg. He spent most of the 2nd half laying flat on his back on the trainer's table with the ankle wrapped in ice. Mid 4th they put a walking boot on it. And he used crutches to exit the field with next to no pressure on that leg. If he plays effectively in a week, I would be suprised. On another note. Chappel gets dinged up a couple times late in the first half--same leg. Murray is already out with a should injury and you are up 20-2 at half and WSU can't get out of their own way offensively. Almost to a person where I was sitting people were asking why play Chappel in the 2nd half. I know you are only up 18 points, but a lot of folks were saying if Chappel gets hurt worse with Murray out already what are going to do next week...and here we are. Side note #2: PATHETIC attendence and crowd atmosphere!!
  13. Again, you paint with an extremely broad brush. Most in this thread are not judging the entire NA race by the actions/comments of a few NA. But if that is your perception, so be it. I was the one who had the conversaion with the engineering prof. The point was that there was made available 2 SCHOLARSHIP slots for NAs that they were having diffuculting filling because of academic reasons and that those 2 slots limited some "other" students from gaining enterance into the program. So if you want to read into that that all NAs can't add or subtract, again that is your perception. The NA programs should continue regardless of the logo/nickname outcome, but valid points were made prior that there might be questioning by some as to why we are continuing to support those who feel violated and disrespected by the same university they are getting an education from. Not saying that is right.
  14. Agree. He was something special during his collegiate years.
  15. There in lies the dilema. There is a small faction who think that way. As there is a small faction that thinks that there is that sentiment from most on this thread. I am not advocating cutting NA programs, but I think there will be a cry at some point from the general public as to why we are continuing to support those (NA) who feel violated/abused by us. Again, I am not saying that is the right action to take, but when there are certian percpetions, there will be some fallout by what was previously noted as getting spit in the face. Human nature? The other "H" word per PCM I am guessing is hypocritical?? Personally, the sooner all of this is resolved the better.
  16. Good points and I'm not the only who has heard/used the term "colleges" within a unversity system.
  17. I'll retract that then. Let me know what term (not college, not school, program??) they use from your 15 years on campus so that I won't make the same mistake again.
  18. What I was getting at was there is a NA school within the UND campus, i.e Engineering school at UND. Thanks for pointing that out to me and correcting my mistake. I know you are smarter than that not to know what I meant but couldn't resist the little jab.
  19. Why?? Because there is already tensions and from what you hear and read most to the tesion is being expressed by the NA students...it gets back to the "hostile and abusive" manta. Now is some of that probably valid--absolutely and is it being perpetrated by mostly white--more than likely and does that make it right--no. But who is blaming the entire NA students at UND?? Who is stating that all NAs are 2nd class citizens?? You seem to paint with a broad brush when convenient for your argument. The bottom line, whether you like it or not, is that there will be some backlash at NAs either on campus or in general society if the name/logo goes. And just in conversation with people, they are tired of the Jeanotte/His Horse Is Thunder rhetoric and seeing the protests from NA students to whom their tax dollars are going to get an education. Again do I think that is right--absolutely not but you continually are making the argument that, in essence, ALL whites are out to get ALL NAs and that is simply not that case. Those broad statements you made above lead to the "tensions" we are discussing because they are so wide-sweeping and accusational. There are bad apples in every bunch and I'm SURE there are more hard working, good citizen NAs than not, just as there are more non-serial killer whites than serial killer whites!! This issue is what it is--SOME NAs who see that they are being disrespected by the name/log and UND itself and there are some whites who strongly disagree. It is really, unless you want to make it, is not much more complicated than that. But because there are 2 different races involved we are in the situation that we ALL are in.
  20. I don't think I have read that every poster, including myself, feels that taking away programs in the event that the name/logo is changed is the answer. Some might feel that way? But again that is their opinion. I agree that Federal funds are allocated as such and are marked as they are. But why not re-prioritize what is coming to the NA school from the tax paying public and private contributions, not specifically marked for the NA college. Why keep supporting, to the highest level, the programs that are there for NAs? Jeanotte is a prime example. He is a leader of the NA college, but when was the last time you heard him say anything positive about UND or it's leadership?? Now some might find these comments in a racist tone. Not the case. Racist--no but anti-entitlement without accountability--yes. Whether you are white, green, yellow or red should not determine the "gift" you receive from the college you attend. Why are tensions high on campus?? Because to the normal 18-19 year old white student working a job or 2 to pay for an education, it is difficult to watch those who are different than them getting a "gift" and at the same time claiming to be in an "abusive and hostile" enviroment. If the logo/name is retired--fine. Federal dollars marked to the NA college--fine. But you want to help solve some of the forseeable tensions on campus, make those who want to attend UND earn their admission and education. Not to take "things" way but to be more consistent in how "things" are divided.
  21. I have read this thread without my GREEN glasses on and I find it interesting that your experiences and views seem to trump everyone elses. 1) I previously mentioned MY experience with a NA while at UND and what happened to him as he returned to the reservation--irrelevant?? 2) I have a friend who left Untied Tribes as an educator and one that left Standing Rock HS because they felt that there was too much pressure AGAINST those who wished to better themselves by those you describe as "losers" and it was a continual uphill battle--racist?? 3) I too have practiced with other NAs and in areas where I see/have seen NAs so I do know of what experiences you speak of--tinted?? Our experiences are different so our perpectives are different, and yours are respected. I just hope mine are as well. No more tit for tat. I think we are in agreement on many of these issues but again just see them from a different perspective.
  22. Please enlighten me. What do YOU see as being wrong, racist, ect... Your view/opinion is just that as is mine, but when you start throwing around RACISM because someone's view differs from yours, you might want to stay out of it. We are dealing with that mentailty from the Jeanottes and His Horse Is Thunders of the world. Please wait to reply as I'm getting my popcorn ready in anticipation as to what wisdom I am going to hear.
