Since when did stating facts about what has transpired so far this year become "negativity"? I root for the guys wearing the UND sweaters as much as the next guy, but this team is sitting SIXTH in the league. They are playing a lower seeded team in the league at home this weekend. UND needs 4 points this weekend...period. The team's injuries are what they are. If, if , if...tired of hearing that! Genoway is out "indefinitely"...right now there is no "if" there. Hextall is out a minimum of 4 weeks...there is no "if" there either. This team needs to do something NOW...with the talented players they currently have. The talent is there to win with who will put on the ice this weekend. I expect both Chay and Hexy to be back at some point, but if they come back and we are still 6th, still a handful game over .500 and it's mid Febuary, is there going to be enough time for all the "if"s Goon, brianvf, ect... talk about?

In your scenerio, they would be set up pretty well. I look at things as how they have played, not how they might play. They can't protect 2 goal lead at all, they have not won a single 1 goal game yet this season, they don't have a goalie that will give a 40+ save outing and steal you a game or you. And we don't score alot of goals. Not saying they can't put together a second 1/2 run, but going on the road to UM, SCSU and CC will not be as easy as you seem to think IMO.
-
Ok then, let's say we see a split this weekend. Where on the schedule do you see another potenital 3-4 point league weekend...minus the last weekend vs. MI. Tech? At Minny...doubtful. DU at home...doubtful. At SCSU...doubtful. UMD at home...maybe. At CC...doubtful. But you're right...we'll have to see.
-
I thinks it's safe to say if we don't get 4 points this weekend, the prospects of even getting home ice for the WCHA playoffs will take a big hit.
-
Potentially...that's why they probably gave the "4-6" weeks scenerio. Generally speaking a Grade 1 MCL tear is 1-2 weeks recovery. Grade 2 tear...3-4 weeks. Grade 3 tear...6 weeks. This is, again, if the MCL is his only issue in the knee.
-
IF reports are true that it's his knee and it's 4-6 weeks with no surgery....MCL sprain or parital tear is my call.

At some point, some people need to understand this team is what it is and stop sugar-coating things. This is a solid college hockey team...not great. They lack snipers and finishers. Goaltending is solid, but you're not gonna get a 40+ save, steal agame from anyone in net. Injuries are part of the game. Enough of "if Chay was back", "if...". Maybe at some point UND will have a full squad, but right now they don't. They can't play with a 2 goal lead. They can't win a 1 goal game. When you add all this up at the current stage of this season, we have a good college hockey team that has some glaring issues that are consistanly evident almost every time out. Time to give up...no, but also time to take this team for what it is at this point and put away the green tinted glasses and stop with the what ifs!

I like the look of those 3 lines! Have to keep Trupp and Malone together. Kristo with those 2...wow! No offense to anyone playing for UND so far this year, but I just thought (prior to his issues) that Frattin would be one of, if not, the best returning players coming into this season.
-
We shot 29% for the game! And when you give up 80+ playing a zone defense... 1-12 and on our way to 1 and...
-
So what you are saying is he doesn't have the "dog and pony show" up and running like Joe did???
-
Not going to happen with Hanson bringing a little respect back to the SU presidency...even if he is only on a interim basis. Now if "Ponzi" Joe was still there, he'd swindle whatever he could get from the state!
-
I get that, but they haven't spent EVERY day together since late Sept.
-
I was thinking the same thing after watching the game. Our PP play, minus the Trupp PP goal, was awful. And our passing not much better. Was suprised at how good Team USA looked for only a couple of practices.
-
He's a SU alum and is probably a lilttle shocked by mess Joe left behind. Kudos to Hanson for trying to institute some accountability and reponsibility. He seems to be the anti-Joe from what you see and read here in Fargo.

Which officially starts in 12 days.

Well...at least we didn't lose by 1 goal like we did in our first 6 losses!?

Is the U of M in a $2 mil budget deficit? Your explanation doesn't get to the fact that it is not fiscally prudent to give away free tution to whoever in a time of a budget deficit. You comment about white American undergrads is pathetic...even for an ass like yourself!
-
Spin it however you want, but the numbers are what they are. When you are giving away $ 11 mil in tuition and you have a budget deficit, maybe you shouldn't be giving so much away for free! Sounds like Peloso is at the helm at NDSU!
-
If you are bringing in high numbers of foreign students for research and grad programs at no cost for their education, how valuable can it be when you are running a budget deficit and have a hiring freeze? Theses tuition waivers aren't for the C+ high school grads from Hawley, MN.
-
I'd be curious to the backdown of gender, race and nationality. I bet you would be suprised to see who's getting a tuition waiver! One of my buddies is an upper level class undergrad and grad school prof.

Hak summed it up best about this team...it's IMMATURE! Problem is you are 18 games into the season. Is he expecting to just flip a switch? This team struggles with the game from a mental standpoint as is evident by it's 1-6 record in games decided by 1 goal and it's inability to hold a 2 goal lead . But enough with the excuses...this team is what it is: A 9-6-3 talented hockey team that is inconsistant, immature and without consistant leadership from it's upper classman, IMO. My concern is Zajac has been one of, if not, our best forward night in and night out and now he's gone for a month plus? Who knows if Genoway will be back. VV looked like has was playing at 70% this weekend and he has been disappointing when totally healthy. Other than Kristo, our freshman forwards have been late to join the party. And Kriso will be leaving to for the WJC. Gregoire, Trupp, Malone and Lammy have been up and down as well. Hextall has been more consistant as of late. And now Eidsness looks to be struggling. The D-men have been doing ok overall, but have moments as well. This team because if it's immaturity has squander 3-4 potential wins. Now with all the guys out and playing inconsistantly, they need to focus on getting home ice for the first round of the WCHA and go from there. Another second half surge??? We'll see I guess.
-
Leaving Fargo for the game in an hour. If UND is going to sweep, they need to get the first one. 5-3 UND. Kristo has a huge game and the Malone line dominates.
-
Ummmmm....no! Ask almost anyone, even here in Fargo...even my SU friends, and they, almost to a person, think Joe's activities bordered on criminal. Selfishness personal gain is at a minimum. BTW...the only real hardon in Joe's situation was the one he gave SU when he bent over the university in which he was in charge of, not to mention that Foundation!

Does that include any contact, non-physical of course, with the cheerleaders?!
