  1. This university is still a proud institution that respresents the entire state and it's history. With what has transpired, UND still needs to honor it's ND hertitage and legacy...Rough Riders is my first choice. If the NAs feel dishonored by the Sioux name, then give the new nickname to a group of people who truly helped forge this state from the beginning. Teddy R would approve and I would too.
  2. So your take on this issue is "golden"? Give me a frickin' break! Your woody for the Summit League overshadows any other reasoning or logic in this whole ordeal...sad!
  3. So the ND Supreme Court deems the voice of this state's NAs "unnecessary" and "without merit"? Another proud day for Leigh Jeanotte and his ilk in advancing the rights and voice of his own people!
  4. Honestly, I'm still waiting for Fasion to do something pro-UND. He, along with Kelley, is anti-nickname (I don't think that's a stretch) and he wants it his way with the NDSU/UND FB game/rivalry and is shooting himself in the foot on that issue as well. He's like a politician acting on his own or following party lines regardless of their constituent's thoughts (insert any of our 3 ND congressmen here).
  5. I hope that was said tongue in cheek!? After being led around like a collared dog by Whiskey Joe, I wouldn't say that "leadership" is a trait of the SBoHE!!
  6. I'm in total agreement with your analysis on this.
  7. Nice...I'm sure it was just an extra reason for you to get the Blatz flowing at sunrise again today!
  8. Didn't know I was "making meaningless sounds suggestive of chatter" (I asume you know that's what prattling means) by respondong to another ridiculous post. MplsBison fan? I'd advise you to stop taking shots while you have the chance...I've read a number, too many to count, of your "prattling" posts in the past!!
  9. So are you implying that the $$$ each school in the Summit receives from the NCAA MBB tourney on a yearly basis could be a bigger financial gain than the sales of the UND current nickname/logo on a yearly basis?? Ridiculous!
  10. So your son is...Joe Mauer! Looks like him in that pic.
  11. Hypothetically, you put Fienhage next to Marto for the whole year and I'd say he comes out looking as good as LaPoint. Not a knock on LaPoint, but Marto made him look better than his skill set.
  12. I get what you want! But to a vast majority of UND fans/alumni and boosters like myself...I want UND to get a fair shake in the nickname process. Period! The Summit, as I said before, is not the crown jewel for this university and the athletic dept. as you make it out to be. IMO the potential retention of the nickname/logo, if given a fair process under the timeline laid out by the NC$$, is a much bigger potential gain overall in the long term than cutting it loose for the sake of gaining enterance into the Summit. I know we'll disagree on this, but from purely a long term financial, PR, marketing, ect...the nickname retention will have much bigger benefits that racing over to the Summit.
  13. Right now and in the foreseeable future UND hockey and football drive the athletic dept.'s engine...from an attendance standpoint and more importantly from a revenue/financial standpoint. Not "throwing away" schedules from the other sports wouldn't change the revenue already generated so why not hang in there on the nickname issue? IMO, UND has more to gain overall by keeping the nickname vs. dumping it just to get into the Summit a year or two sooner.
  14. Just read over the noon hour, Obama wants more offshore drilling. Says it will create jobs and enhance nation's security. How old are you, MplsBison??? "Give it 20 years."
  15. Not disagreeing with anything you posted, but it still gets back to the fact that this kid is getting squeezed. And as to who or what caused the squeezing??? I think stickboy nailed it in his last post. Your last statement is somewhat disingenuous though. This is a Calapari-type move IMO if he is forced out.
  16. I'm glad someone else posted this...I was going to but feared the "Rick" might show his wrath again (see "Is it time to fire Hak?" thread starter). When an athlete is recruited, they assume they are being recruited for the FULL eligibilty of the college career, not until a better "option" comes along and then only to be kicked to the curb. I totally agree Finehage has done nothing to bring this situation apon himself. It is difficult for all parties involved, especially if Genoway returns.
  17. It is and once again you haven't put forth any valid points...just polyanna speculation. And since when did a Bison tool like yourself become a moderator as what can be posted in a thread?
  18. So with that rational, I can only guess which side of the healthcare issue your on!
  19. Gregiore is not a center IMO. Lammy is next year's Zajac. What really needs to happen is for Toews to step up as our 4th centerman.
  20. Easy now you hater! Think of the potential seed and being at the X for this year's NCAA if we could of held on to another game or two???
  21. Get back to me at the end of next year on this one... When Frattin gets the whole year under his belt...wow! I like the two guys you mentioned alot, but what we saw from Frattin in the last 6 weeks was something that UND fans have seen in awhile.
  22. More importantly, I think Frattin is extremely grateful to Hak for the opprtunity to play again...no way he leaves IMO. I think he will be UND's best forward next year and I don't think it'll be close.
  23. Toews plays if he's consistant...when he's good, he's good. Bruno is a grinder. Cichy??? Don't know what to make of him. Rowney is solid. He'll play next year. Feel bad for Davidson. He is probably going to get jammed up next year.
  24. Hill won't probably be back. Early departures...Fienhage if Genoway comes back. After Gregiore's performance today , he won't want that to be his last game in a UND sweater and I don't think he's ready to move on. Props to Davidson for his end of year play. Cichy was less than advertised...he better get to work.
  25. We are down 3-0...why? Yale is out working us, out skating us. Making most of their chances. We, sans the penalty shot, have generated maybe 5 decent scoring chances in 40 minutes and now we need to bury 3? We looked unprepared and not ready to play from the get go.
