From all indications since this mess started, it has become crystal clear the SBoHE could care less about what the tribes want or think. Not to mention, IMO, that the UND administration(s) has had the SBoHE bent over from day 1 on this issue as well!
-
That's good news! A couple of points on the current SL lawsuit: First, the Assistant AG says it would be "unconstitutional" to take away the SBoHE's authority if this lawsuit was upheld...really? Someone with some law background explain that one to me please. Second, find it interesting that a SL elder gave testimony and the Assistant AG dismissed it as "not relevant to the legal issue". So again it come down to the NA people of the 2 tribes are irrelevant? and have no say on this issues? Third, I find it ironic that the SBoHE, a board of EDUCATION, is hanging it's so called authority, on the fact that this issue could delay whether UND gets in a conference and how it is going to effect it's transition to D1. Again, a board formed and based on the state's EDUCATIONAL system has it's top priority as this? This just smell, which it has from the begiining, of collusion between UND's administration and the SBoHE to end this issue at all costs regardless of what the 2 tribes say or feel.

We're not...so it is!

Found that very ironic as well, and just heard Tiger was going to speak on family values and relationships at the next national NAACP convention...

Oh, the carnage!

Another liberal faculty member, Linda Neuerburg, trying to pull on the heart strings of the general public..."We're taliking tears and heartbreak for our students." I'm also sure her license plate cover reads..."Save our manatees"

Truly disheartening , and this "mentality" is starting to strangle this country!!!
-
They not only lost, but were completely outplayed by MAYVILLE ST.!!! Take off the green tinted glasses! I know it's getting close to Christmas, but there is no way anyone can sugarcoat this!
-
My last game I've seen live was last year when we won on the buzzer beater to beat VCSU. I'm not planning on seeing another one until we don't lose to a NAIA school in a season...that might be awhile! Where's lil' Rich when you need him!
-
Clarify...us or them?? I assume you mean UW, which I would agree with.
-
My good buddy is a season ticketholder for the UM Griz. He said SFA was absolutely brutal. Was keeping me updated and SFA had 9 TOs mid way thru the 3rd. He asked how in the world did they hang 60+ on UND?!
-
So besides the fact we have trouble holding a 2 goal lead, we are also 0-5 when we score less than 3 goals and we are 1-5 in 1 goal outcome games with 2 ties. You can call it how you see it I guess...
-
Trust me he's not a bandwagon type of guy. What he is is someone who understands that a 3 goal lead is safer than a 1 goal lead...statistically speaking. Your math lesson for the day: 2-1=1 2+1=3 3>1

In my angst last night, I forgot about the UMN, UAA, MTU games...my bad. Merrimack does count towards my point as UND did give up the initial 2 goal lead. The SCSU game you mention, you are correct to a certain point. We pushed lead from 2 to 3, then gave up a 3 goal lead, then gave up a 2 goal lead...at home! So UND has given up a 2 goal lead in 9 of 12 games so far this season. I appreciate that brianvf corrected me. I feel a WHOLE lot better about how we play with a 2 goal lead now! But at least it's not 100% of the time so I do stand corrected.
-
I get back to the FACT that UND has been the team to first gain a 2 goal lead in 9...NINE games so far this year and in NONE...zero of those games have they been able to push the lead to 3 goals...they have lost the 2 goal lead EVERY time. These are facts laid out by this team's play with a 2 goal lead. Not smoke and mirrors. This is not a nine game "coincidence", but a very strong trend! Not one time after establishing an early 2 goal lead has this team increased that lead...not once! So you can come with they're young, they're getting bent over by the refs, yadda yadda yadda. Not once! Time for my warm milk and "Leave it to Beaver" re-runs.
-
Ever hear about creating your own breaks!! You don't give it up like this team does if you are playing smart, disciplined hockey.
-
Ok...once, twice...but 9 times in 16 games!? Com'n now! You are sounding like Hak!
-
Instead of trying to protect a 2 goal lead, which is obvious we can't do, how about playing aggressive and pushing the lead to 3!?!? The strategy Hak and Co. is using with leads isn't working.
-
So what is his gripe for puking up 2 goal leads in 8 other games??!! This issue is going to continue to kill this team if they don't get it figured out soon!
-
This team has had a 2 goal lead that they have not been able to hold, I believe, in 9 or 10 games this year. 4 of those games, we have given the whole lead back with 2 of those games becoming loses! Good teams bury their opponents when they get the chance. This team coughs it up! Pathetic!!!
-
Agree. This year's team is one of the worst in memory when playing with or protecting a 2 goal lead.
-
So based on what you are saying, my guess is there are either some issues with the talent on the court or the coaching or both!
-
Was going to get to your original question...NO! These recent UND teams are on par with the late era Glas teams. Definitely not any better. FIRE HAKSTOL!! Oops...wrong thread.
-
When I was in school during the late 80's-90's, there was plenty of lower tier D1 talent...i.e. Gulseth, Vonesh, ect... This team/program is nowhere near the talent level back in that Glas era.
-
The Princeton offense ws designed for 2 reasons: 1) To try to help cover up the lack of athleticism and talent of a team 2) while trying to shorten the possesions of the other team in essence trying to keep the game close with the deliberate style of play. This team is really talent poor for D1 and subsequently the system being run is trying to compensate for that.
