You are talking about a ball control offense that gets first downs to sustain drives which takes time off the clock and keeps the D off the field. Reality alert.........UND has shown zero ability to do that to date. Maybe this Saturday will be different but UND went 3 and out how many times last Saturday? That didn't protect the D one bit. I get you are the eternal optimist but seriously?!?! If UND goes 3 and out 8 times Saturday they will lose by 30+...plain and simple.
-
With all due respect what does this accomplish? At some point the offense has to put a drive together, which will require getting multilpe first downs, to score some points. "Draining the clock" as you state does nothing other than stick the D back on the field quickly. If you want to drain the clock and possibly get points, first downs are must. We might hit a big play on occasion but at some point you can't continually go 3 and out.

Kind of sounds like a similar scenario with my s*x life so far this month. Drop the puck! -

I like this too. Cue MM for a picture of the old NHL Kansas City Scouts hockey sweaters from back in the day. They are awesome.

Nope...too offensive to those between 3'6" and 7'6". Appreciate the effort though.

Not a math wizard but 2 TDs equates to 14 points which is still less than 16...correct? So 2 TDs wouldn't be a step in the right direction because 16 is greater that 14. Just saying...............

The Cats scored 60 on UND last year...I don't think we'll have to wait 2 weeks for the defensive "measuring stick".
-
How about the Colts?
-
We can talk about the O-line, the QB play, the running game, the play calling, ect...........bottom line is UND's highest scoring output to date in a game is 16 points which came vs RM. IMO scoring 16 points will not allow UND to win a single game in the BSC.
-
Early week prediction which is subject to change...MSU 38 UND 10 I think the defense plays very well for a half but TOP favors MSU 2:1 in the 2nd half and the D gets worn out.
-
UND heads to Bozeman to take on the 'Cats. Defensively UND is much improved. Offensively UND is really struggling. Looks like MSU is once again a very solid upper tier BSC team. #notgonnaget60hungonusthisyear Converse......................

"The problem isn't Joe"...to a UND insider and real FB mind like youself he isn't but to the the knuckle dragging beer bonging arm chair Madden playing coach like Irish, Joe at least seems to be part of the problem. The O line is brutal...I agree but there have been many opportunities for Joe to make plays but................ My point is IF the offense continues to be inept at moving the ball they won't beat WSU, NC or PSU. Basically 75 yards minus 1 big play and 8 punts which were mostly 3 and outs isn't going to win a BSC game even with a D that is better and pretty good.
-
You are spot on. 42 plays averaging less than 2 yards per should suggest what Rudolph is calling isn't working. If part of that play calling is his lack of trust in Joe to do anything...switch QBs. UND will not win a BSC game with the offense they are running regardless of how much this D has improved.
-
The defense is better than last year but reality will rear its head w the MT schools the next couple weeks. Problem is offensively not sure UND will score 14 points... in 2 games combined.
-
I'm guessing 9K show up for the Griz game... after that one getting 7K to show up for any remaining game will be a stretch.
-
The defense is vastly improved. Holding SB to 3 dropped the ppg average from 31 to 24. Unfortunately they won't hold the Cats to 24 next week. With the play of our offense next weeks game will have a similar look to MSU.
