  1. So Golladay, Jackson and others who are no longer with the program are to blame too? You seem to be throwing some kid who isn't even playing under the bus. UND is competeing with who the have and are capable of winning with who they have. At some point to turn this ship around someone who IS playing needs to step up and make a decisive play. You play with who you have at the time...not who could be playing. No one, including me, is blaming the holder, snapper or kicker, but an opportunity Saturday was lost. Next time hopefully the outcome with the game on the line is different...as I mentioned they converted on roughly the same distance vs. RM.
  2. If I recall correctly UND converted 3 FGs vs. RM with one being from 45 yards out..........................
  3. If that is your take then this whole hypothetical discussion is pointless. Last time I checked both are D1 FB players...they don't play 9 man FB at Cavalier.
  4. This...^^^^^^^.
  5. I assume my ticket is wrong and game starts at 737.
  6. If UND wouldn't have puked away a W last Saturday this hypothetical might actually have some tread to it. Teams have to learn how to win...improvement is great but ultimately putting a check in the W column is all that counts at the end of the day. I expect a check mark in the W column this Saturday.
  7. That's because SB has the best defense in all of college FB!
  8. Ummmm...dare I say Vince and I agree on something. Extremely well said.
  9. You are being very generous and overly kind with that assessment as it relates to Kelley.
  10. Yes he does!
  11. Take the points kids...UND wins this one outright!
  12. And here lies the issue..." normal down and distance". Both SU and MT have success with play action because they use it 1st and ten, 2nd and 4 and 3rd and 1. UND likes to save play action for 3rd and 9.
  13. Both SU and MT are poor examples. They run the ball...yes but both Wentz and Johnson can drop straight back and throw it effectively and often if needed without every pass play being play action. Right now UND can't do that.
  14. This Saturday: Homecoming...a sense by UND fans the tide of the program is turning...9257 to be exact.
  15. All said above it true but if this team can not have their QB make a straight up 7 step drop and throw it with some success this offense will continue to be what it is...a below average FCS offense.
  16. Agree but did anyone else ever get the sense that watching Muss coach would be similar to watching an OB-GYN doctor trying to perform a vasectomy? He just looked completely uncomfortable all the time.
  17. I think Bubba has done wonders with what he was dealt...Muss couldn't have left this program in a bigger mess than he did. Muss was in way over his head from day 1 as head coach. He couldn't have sent packing soon enough IMO. Plus Bubba has the blessing of the GOBC!
  18. Do you really want my take on this one...................
  19. Typically playing from behind in the 2nd half so the off tackle right on first down and off tackle left on 2nd down which sets up 3rd and long isn't real conducive to getting back into the game in the 2nd half when UND is behind. Now if the play calling in the first half mirrored the play calling in the 2nd half of most games......................... At some point the offense has to score more TDs in a game than the defense I would think.
  20. To your last point and question...only slightly more consistent than OD...which again isn't saying much. I'm not a big fan of that senior line staying together but I'm sure Hak will not move any of those 3 seniors off the top 6 depth chart so then where do you go? I really like Drake with Nick, both will have huge seasons IMO...add OD to those 2 then Johnson skates with the 2 seniors? Just thinking aloud here...my wife loves that about me!
  21. No offense but OD has been extremely inconsistent thru his 3 years at UND and that is being kind and Murphy was basically a bust as a freshman last season. With that being said you then want to stick them with arguably our most gifted freshman forward recruit since TJ and Johnny. I don't see that line ever happening this season. Nick with Drake and whoever else is what I see moving forward.
  22. If Murphy can show he can stick in the lineup and score, I like him with Colton and Bryn as a very solid line that could score some goals and a line that would be a difficult match up for other team's bottom 2 lines.
  23. Friday can't come soon enough!
