If UND could only draw 8600 vs #9 Montana St. doubt a move to the MVC vs. the likes of Mo. St., WIU, Indiana St., SIU and the like will help with attendance. NDSU, USD and SDU.....yes but that's probably it.
We will disagree on "waning". Like with FB I don't think that last 2 hockey seasons helped spark interest with any demographic but kids still have lined up before the doors open at the Ralph for the marquee rivalries of Canisius and BSU so far.
As far as FB......the students need just 2 sections....not 3 and they need to be 211 and 212 IMO. Throw in 210 if they need 3 sections. In 3 sections Saturday there might have been 300 students and that's a generous estimate.
How many members that were on the nickname committee are now on the Presidential search committee? I see lots of similarities with how this process is going.
On that note.......VB at 11. FB at noon. Who is in charge of scheduling. VB was empty. The VB team isn't very good but those ladies deserved better attendance especially on a big UND sports weekend.......then those in charge schedule soccer and VB at 1 pm on Sunday.
I'm swinging the other way......first time I've said this but the students need to go from their current sections. Yesterday was just pathetic. My daughter hasn't missed a game and stays to the end but it's her and just 37 other students. Find a different section for them.
ISU most likely will finish 4-8.......the UND loss to them is glaring and was flat out embarrassing. That said UND has 3 decent wins. SHSU will probably be 8-4. Beat Weber and it's a no brainier even if they finish 7-4. 8-3 obviously is ideal.
Interesting stat would be completion % inside the tackle box vs outside. WHEN Kett sets his feet he generally delivers a very good and accurate ball. If he has to move off his drop in any way it gets dicey.
I thought he had a very solid game yesterday. Hope he can build off that.
Scheel didn't need to make a lot of saves but he made a number of really big ones. He was outstanding.
Didn't see any passengers tonight from the 19 skaters. Everyone contributed, chipped in and kept it simple. Wasn't always exciting hockey but was a solid quality team win.
