I agree that this team has shown that they can score against Duluth. The Fri night game at the DECC could have been worse than 5-1 if UMD's goalie hadn't made some really nice saves. The Sioux were essentially toying with UMD on offense. I would like to see that UND offense again against UMD this weekend.
If not for a few mental defensive breakdowns in the Sat game (including one with 30 sec left ), the Sioux would have walked away with 4 points.
Is Chorney playing in a tourney somewhere, or is he injured? I thought I saw his name on the list of a U17/18 team that was playing currently.
Either way, he hasn't suited up for the Sabres in a few weeks.
Also good to see Toews catch Gergen in points with 4 less games played.
I am amazed at the movement of Minnesota. Two weeks ago they were ranked #12. They sweep SCSU (9th place team) and move up to #9. This week they sweep MTU (10th place team) and move up to #6. That is crazy.
By contrast, the Sioux get three of four against both Wisconsin (#6 at the time they played the Sioux) and SCSU, and barely even move back into the poll?
It's stuff like that why I am very glad that there is no human element to PWR.

It's official, he's a Gopher.
Now we can all resume our lives.
Oshie scores 6 sec into the 2nd period to put Warroad up 2-0. Nice snipe from TJ to beat the goalie.
The physical Warroad dmen are doing a good job of neutralizing the smaller STA forwards (including that little 8th grader Schroeder).
Warroad now scores again after a nice rush.
3-0 War
Good game going here between WBL and Duluth East. DE takes a penalty with a few min left in game, WBL pulls goalie for a 6x4 adv.
WBL can't capitalize though...
Game over.
DE wins 3-2. First tight game of the tourney.
Oshie looked good. Great move to get a beauty of an assist on their 5th goal.
He looks big, and looks to have good hands. It will be fun seeing him in a Sioux uni in the future.
Was he wearing a "don't hit me" jersey? (I forget which color they are )
I would think that Brady could wait until the end of the season to get the surgery (if needed) and still be back to play for next year. If he got the surgery in April, with the 4-6 months of rehab, he would be back to full health at latest by Sept.
That said, I hope that he can make it back into the lineup this year...
St Thomas walks all over Virginia in the first game, 8-2. Niskanen (UMD) scores one of the two Virginia goals. An 8th grader, Schroeder, for St Thomas gets 4 points (2g, 2a).
Up next is Warroad vs Albert Lea.
Dmen scoring 3 of the 4 goals. Good to see them stepping up into the play.
Jones' goal was key, following the shot, bangs in the rebound. Good to see players crashing the net.
