  1. -I can't believe that Maine swept BC. You know that BC will be ready to roll by the playoffs though. -WMU sweeps Mich. I want Michigan's streak to be over, so I like to follow their losses. Former Sioux Mike Cichy had three assists in the win for WMU. -UMN rebounds for a split with MSUM. -UNO sweeps BSU with a 2-1 win. Archibald and Zombo with the two goals for UNO. -Next weeks opponent, UW, sweeps UAA at home. In the national scoring race, Walters had one assist, Leblanc had one assist, and Knight had one goal/one assist.
  2. A much needed sweep of SCSU.
  3. That pile up in front of the SCSU net in the 3rd period was ridiculous. UND had about 5 chances to put it away and it just kept bouncing off bodies and skates and sticks. Cmon. Same thing with right at the end of OT.
  4. It will be fun to see how the new lines look after a week of practice together.
  5. If they play like they did tonight, they win most games. Most of the shuffled lines looked very good, the line of Kristo/Knight/Grimaldi was always creating offense, and the PP even looked quite good at times. A few defensive miscues leaving SCSU players wide open in front of the net again, but for the most part it was a complete turnaround from Friday night. SCSU is a legit team this year...very good at blocking shots and shutting down the passing lanes. Hanowski, Leblanc, and Jensen are very, very good. And Faragher played excellent again. IF the Sioux can keep that level of intensity against UW next week, I like our chances. Time to right the ship. I think we are out of the running for the Mac (especially being that other teams have much easier remaining schedules), but that's not the end of the world. This team can play with anyone, they just have to keep the effort consistent.
  6. Watch out for the paper cuts.
  7. English, please.
  8. I like that.
  9. Yes, I was being sarcastic in my Blais post. I, for one, am quite sick of seeing all the "Bring Back Dean" posts.
  10. There is no way a Blais-coached team would lose in those situations. No way at all, he always gets his players up for big games.
  11. Must be our new coach! All hail the arrival of Hal...the coach that will bring us some titles for sure!!!
  12. Yes, I know it was a horrible loss tonight to SCSU. To help ease that just a tiny bit... BC lost to a Maine team with 2 Hockey East league wins all season. Michigan lost...yet again. Notre Dame continues to tank after the New Year, losing too. Minnesota lost on a goal with less than a minute to play.
  13. Ok, I'll bite. Who should we hire to replace Hakstol? And, do you remember how horrible the last few Gino-led Sioux teams were? The only way this is a perfect comparison to that would be if they didn't win another game this season and finished well below .500.
  14. Roe must be holding a serious grudge. This happened over a year ago, and he hasn't even been on the SCSU team for the last two years. Time to move on dude.
  15. The woofing? You obviously weren't on here after the Friday night UMN game...
  16. UMN counts the games where they played the North Dakota club/intramural team, but UND doesn't.
  17. Yep, me too. It was getting old. I used to be on USCHO for a few hours a day, especially during the season. Now...I can't even remember the last time I was on that site...maybe a year or two ago.
  18. Ben Hanowski was injured for them during our earlier series with SCSU. He is back in the lineup on their top line again now though.
  19. The "stacked one line" strategy has worked well for us in the past, I see no reason not to give it a go again. It still leaves some skill for the lower lines...guys like Parks, EasyMac, Rowney, Rodwell, and some of the frosh like Caggiula and St Clair can and will be expected to contribute. But stacking that top line would sure be fun to watch and they would rack up the goals. I seem to recall the DOT line (Duncan/Oshie/Toews), the Money Line (Bucks/Parise/Murray), and the Line of Fire (Panzer/Bayda/Lundbohm) doing some serious damage for past Sioux teams...
  20. I call shenanigans!!
  21. Good question.
  22. Wasn't it the poster Mariucci that said before the series that Wilcox had the quickest glove hand since Stauber? Didn't take much for Knight and Grimaldi to expose that a bit... I agree that you can't feel good after giving up a late 4-2 lead and settling for the tie. Two posts in OT makes it feel worse. For as much as everyone was complaining about the D and the goalies...UND showed tonight that they can certainly play with UMN. Now they need to start finishing off some of these games.
  23. Hopefully Gleason can excel on the big sheet like he did when we played at CC. That might have been his best series of the year.
  24. Haula with Rau and Bjugstad on the top line for UMN. If we can somehow contain that line...I like our chances this weekend. If not...it could get ugly. I still would like to see Grimaldi paired with some speedy/skilled forwards to see what they could do together.
  25. Whatever happened to Earl and Cepis?
