  1. From what I heard (reliable source), St. Clair contacted UND, not the other way around. Evidently he had been rethinking his commitment to CC during last year in Fargo, and decided to change it.
  2. I could see Bruneteau being like Mario, but I think Rowney is more offensively gifted than either of them. No offense, lil Lam.
  3. Wow, that is huge. Hate to steal a kid from CC, as they are a like-able school for the most part (I didn't mind getting Gregoire from DU... ), but this kid is the real deal. Now that he is a year older in the USHL, he will have a much better year. http://www.areavoices.com/force/?blog=59068
  4. Wow, I didn't realize how small Van Voorhis is...5-7, 150lb according to that roster. Of course, he still has a few years left to grow. Is he more of an offensive dman like Genoway?
  5. Throw Genoway in there as well. Those three can skate. I'm excited to see Kristo play for the Sioux. All I keep hearing about is how fast he is on the ice. When was the last time we had a true speedster forward at UND? Spiewak? We've had some fast skaters since Spiewak...but none as fast as him that I recall.
  6. Maybe one of them could change their name to appease you? What about the fact that next year there are going to be two Mattson's and a Matson in the WCHA...two of which will play for us? Not only will that confuse the heck out of Wooger, but evidently it will also annoy you.
  7. I believe he would only have one year of eligibility left with BSU, which seems weird to transfer instead of sign. But if he likes the college game instead of going to play in the ECHL/AHL for the time being, it could be better for him. He just needs to keep up with his studies a bit better...if he fails out of SCSU, I'm not sure he has much hope elsewhere.
  8. Other WCHA news: SCSU is probably now counting on Lee a bit earlier than expected: http://www.sctimes.com/apps/pbcs.dll/secti...ife.sctimes.com Weslosky is academically ineligible (again) and could be transferring to BSU for next season. Dunn is now the only goalie on SCSU's roster with any NCAA minutes.
  9. INCH A-Z with Marto: http://insidecollegehockey.com/inch/2009/08/23/marto/
  10. Great news. Welcome aboard...a year early.
  11. In other WCHA team news: http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/blogs/2009/...rphy_schroeder/ Rumors floating around that Vancouver wants to sign Schroeder and have him go the CHL route for a season. Not exactly a glowing endorsement of the UMN coaching staff/program. But to be fair, this is written by a Canadian journalist, so he will of course be slanted towards the CHL vs NCAA. I really don't see this happening, but I guess we'll see what happens. Should be interesting.
  12. The USA killed Russia 8-1 in their National Junior Evaluation Camp game. Kristo chipped in with two goals, one on on the PP. http://hfboards.com/showpost.php?p=2073885...p;postcount=164 Good to see him becoming a point leader during the tryouts. Hopefully he can continue that for the Sioux this year and for the WJC.
  13. Who was he? That's the first I've heard of him.
  14. Good luck in the pros Michael. I wish we could have seen more of your potential at UND...

    Ryan Hill

I believe UW is over 30 players on their roster. I don't know the actual number, but it's got to be close to that...

I would go with either B or C. Maybe Hakstol doesn't view Forney as a "new" face.
  17. Scored a goal against BC in the playoffs?

  19. It was all just a dream. It never actually happened.
  20. I think the 07 MSU title team proves that you don't need a blue chip recruit to win the national champs. That was a team that wasn't even expected to get out of their regional, let alone win the title. And while Abdelkader and Lerg were both very good players, they were hardly considered blue chip prospects when entering college. That said, I agree that having a couple "chippahs" certainly helps out. Parise knows that Oshie and Toews led the Sioux the past couple years when playoff time came. But I also think that Genoway and VV are going to be the studs for the Sioux this upcoming season. Both of them are poised to have monster years, possibly All-American type years for each of them.
  21. Regardless of him not being drafted...Mattson is still going to be a special player for the Sioux.
