It wasn't Jack Roslovic, was it? He was playing very well in the U18 Worlds on the same line as Matthews.
-
Were Jordan, Cags, LaDue, and Stecher in the book?
-
Toews. Parise. Vanek. Just kidding. It definitely seems that lately they have gotten many of the blue chippahs. And I agree with you...I am assuming that Matthews is heading to MJ.

For as adamant as Hakstol is for upholding the gentleman's agreement, I would be surprised if he went after a committed recruit. I'm not claiming that UND has a halo over it as a program, but if was going to do that, then just oppose the agreement like other coaches have done. Not a big deal.
-
If you read the article, it made it sound like AFA and the recruit both agreed that he would be best served to go elsewhere. Perhaps he couldn't get into the academy?

Interesting. A replacement for a potential departure that we didn't anticipate?
-
That sounds really messy.

Top 10 Moments in Sioux History since 2000

They dropped the name? -
Miami lost a ton, wow. Their only remaining offensive players will be Louis and Kuraly. Ouch. As I said earlier, if they were going to win a title...this would have been their year to do it.
-
Incoming: Boeser Gersich Wilkie Janatuinen Gardner Gornall Wolanin Chartrand Shaw Tomek Departing: JSchmaltz McIntyre

I really hope Cags, LaDue, and Stecher stick around for another season. I was honestly already expecting Zane and Jordan to sign, so another season out of either of them would just be gravy.

Here's the article for those that haven't seen it: http://mayorsmanor.com/2015/04/blake-on-trip-to-north-dakota-waiting-on-ladues-decision/ From both that article and what was said on the Coaches Show, it sounds like most of the players decisions were expected within the next 1-2 weeks. So I don't think we'll be waiting around too much longer to see what Schmaltz, LaDue, Stecher, Cags, and Zane are going to do.

http://www.collegehockeynews.com/news/2015/04/14_eichel_has_advice_for_auston.php Wodon didn't do his homework for this article. Jones never committed here...he just said that it was between UND (if he went to college) and MJ, and he went MJ.

It's articles like this why I am glad that BU didn't win the title: http://www.collegehockeynews.com/news/2015/04/12_destined_for_disappointment.php Especially this quote: He must have been watching a different game than I was. UND was hardly the pretender in that game...they controlled most of the game after the first 5-8 minutes or so.

Okposo certainly wasn't a happy camper, leaving at midseason. Although I don't remember him saying anything specifically...more just the NHL club.

Next year we play UAH and UW...those are our best cupcake options for next season.

ASU announced their schedule for next season: http://pac-12.com/mens-ice-hockey/schedule/20150801-20160730 Mix of D1, club, DIII, etc teams, but some decent D1 teams like UW, UMass-Lowell, UAA, UAF, etc. They are playing both UNO and SCSU in a pair of games each. Should be interesting.

The NCAA Championship Game Dream Match-Up: BU vs. PC

No doubt. Little bit different circumstances. That gaffe essentially cost BU the title. Feel for the kid, but still happy that Providence won. -

Anyone think that Eichel won't sign? If/when he leaves BU, are they going to slip back into mediocrity like last year, as they will lose Rodrigues too? Those two combined for 132 pts. By comparison, UND's 7 graduating seniors had 137 pts combined. -

Congrats to the Providence Friars on their championship. I was glad to see them win it over BU and Eichel. -

O'Connor has been letting weak goals in all tournament. I don't recall any in the Yale game, but he had 1 or 2 terrible ones vs UMD, 1 bad one against UND, and now that championship-losing fumble. Ouch. -
No doubt. I think our strong defense will be the thing that keeps us rolling through the early season (especially if there is a new goalie back there). Hopefully by mid-season some of the talented freshmen forwards will have their legs.

University of North Dakota Hockey 2015-16 season

Tentative 15/16 Roster Graduating (7): Parks, MacMillan, O'Donnell, Mattson, Gaarder, Pattyn, Panzarella Forwards (10): Caggiula (SR), Chyzyk (SR), St. Clair (SR), Sanderson (SR), Johnson (JR), Murphy (JR), NSchmaltz (SO), Poganski (SO), Simonson (SO), Olson (SO) Defense (6): JSchmaltz (SR), LaDue (JR), Stecher (JR), Thompson (JR), Ausmus (JR), Poolman (SO) Goalies (3): McIntyre (SR), Hrynkiw (JR), Johnson (SO) Potential Early Departures (5): JSchmaltz, McIntyre, LaDue, Stecher, NSchmaltz Potential Incoming Freshmen (11): Janatuinen (F), Gersich (F), Wilkie (F), Gardner (F), Boeser (F), Matthews (F) , Chartrand (D), Wolanin (D), Shaw (D), Evers (D), Tomek (G) This looks to me like a pretty skilled potential roster here depending on early departures. I think Jordan and Zane are the most likely to leave, but if either stayed it wouldn't surprise me. I think that Defense for next season will once again be a very strong unit and one of the strengths of the team (regardless of if Schmaltz goes pro or not). That is a very talented group right there. Maybe only 2 or 3 of those potential incoming frosh come in on the D side. Obviously potentially losing Zane would hurt, but I think goalie will still be a strong position with Tomek and Johnson should Zane decide to leave. For forwards, I think our scoring will be better next year and that our overall talent level will increase. Caggiula can take a step and lead this offense, with Chyzyk and Johnson both making progression forward. If Nick stays, I could see him racking up quite a few assists with higher goal scoring ability around him. I look for the soph trio of Pogs, Simonson, and Olson to use another year of strength building and have a much better year production-wise. Our incoming forwards are very skilled...if even 1 or 2 of their USHL goal-scoring translates to the college game, we're in for a fun year. Go Sioux!!
