SCSU has little to play for other than retaining their #1 rank...not sure how far they can fall if they lose. Of course, Miami had absolutely nothing to play for this past weekend and they took 5 of 6 points. I'm guessing we see some domination from SCSU, I'm hoping that UND can sneak out a couple points but it's not likely with how they're playing.

UND somehow still in 4th, but a bad weekend next week could see them slip all the way to 7th. Geez. One win against last place Miami would have really been a nice help. Avoiding traveling to Denver or Cloud for the first round would be ideal, but with how this team is playing it probably doesn't matter who/where they play for the first round.

I want to say sweep, but this team hasn't won two straight games in over a month...and hasn't won three straight games since October.

I'd say that for the most part, UND is better than most at retaining players an extra year (or two). Jost leaving after one season was unexpected, but the fact that he was the first player to leave after one season since Belfour says a lot. The year of the "The Pact" comes to mind when Oshie, Chorney, Duncan, etc all stayed another season after all received offers to leave early. Only Toews left that season, but there was no way he was going to stick around for a Jr season.

Sad to say, but I think the team has one more win and one more tie left in them this regular season. The way I see it going down is: Loss tonight, split w/ Miami, then a loss & tie (play up to the level we expect) vs SCSU. On the road for the 1st round and lose in 3 games to miss the NCHC tourney for the first time and miss the NCAA's. I'd love for them to prove me wrong, but this team hasn't shown much during the 2nd half so I'm not expecting to be surprised.

How freakin empty is the Xcel going to be this year when UND doesn't make it? Ouch. SCSU and UMD will bring their small group of fans, but it's going to look marginally better than the B10 tourney with all those empty seats.
