You absolutely, 100% don't want one of the team captains hitting on other teammates girlfriends. That is for sure a way to fracture some team solidarity. Also you probably don't want the HC to play the lesser skilled upperclassmen in more prominent roles that could be given to higher skilled underclassmen. That can cause some division, especially if the team is under-performing. Just spitballin' here.

It'll be really interesting to see how productive some of these CHLers are in NCAA. You look at a guy like Noah Powell (also an ASU newcomer). Puts up 5 points in half a season at OSU, then moves to the OHL where he puts up almost a pt/gm there. Now back to the NCAA. It honestly wouldn't shock me if most of these guys only score like 10-12 pts as freshmen. Going up against much more defensive, and older, and stronger opponents...it's gonna be an eye-opener for the vast majority of them.

Anyone heard any more rumblings about McMorrow & Smaby being a package deal? Kid would be a great pickup. This goal was all him...his hustle to win the puck battle, then being in the right place to bang it home.
