  1. Yes agreed. Crazy how different their OOC and conference records are. 11-6-3 overall 7-1-2 NCHC 4-5-1 OOC (St Thomas, Mankato, Alaska, Michigan, Bemidji)
  2. Updated PWR by league still has Hockey East with a good number, including the top 2 spots. I still think 1-2 of them might drop out as league play continues. HEA - 6 - BU 1, BC 2, Maine 6, Prov 9, UNH 11, UMass 14 B10 - 4 - MSU 3, UW 5, UMN 12, UM 15 ECAC - 2 - QU 4, Cornell 16 NCHC - 4 - UND 7, DU 8, WMU 10, SCSU 13 No teams from AHA or CCHA in top 16. Closest AHA team is RIT at 21 and highest CCHA team is MSUM at 28. So if the season ended today, at minimum both Cornell and Michigan would be out.
  3. So glad to see Ness, James, and Strinden all rewarded with goals this weekend. Those boys were skating and providing energy every shift. James could have had multiple goals each night with his chances, glad he finally got one.
  4. https://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/und-hockey/hobie-hedquist-gets-the-win-saturday-but-ludvig-persson-is-still-unds-no-1-goalie Persson still #1 goalie according to Berry...they wanted to give him a rest after his lingering illness last weekend. I'd expect we see Persson again on Friday night.
  5. Much better period especially at the end. Couple chances to extend the lead. Would’ve been nice if one of those had gone.
  6. That was a lot of UND icings. I don’t recall any UNO icing that period.
  7. Your whole row is empty except for Colin and I! For sure more empty seats compared to yesterday.
  8. That's what I was hoping for after the Friday night CC game. Didn't really happen though. They need to start getting some wins in NCHC play if they want a shot at the league title.
  9. What are the odds that UNO’s horrible PP found it’s way against UND? Pretty good I guess
  10. I’d go James, Strinden, and Pyke.
  11. Ha! Great sitting next to your group last night and thanks again for the tickets! Agreed on James. He was all over the ice last night. He could have had multiple goals.
  12. Dang that’s one way to go thru life.
  13. UND drops one spot to #7 in the PWR. Brutal stretch here in NCHC play. Really need the win tomorrow. Can't lose four in a row in league play to two teams that will finish in the bottom of the league.
  14. Michigan puts up 12 on Stonehill. Ouch. ASU ties Cornell late, but then actually loses in OT.
  15. Couple defensive lapses and Persson not being 100% sharp have us making UNO look better than they are. Hopefully they can win the 3rd. No OT!
  16. It’s not like Emerson was told to wait a year to make room for Albrecht though (like the Spicer situation last year). There was room for both of them and they both played limited minutes in limited games. If Albrecht showed “it” more in practice and game situations, then I understand playing him. You still have to earn your playing time regardless of if you’re a frosh or a 5th year.
  17. One more season of the option for the 5th year.
  18. UND played an exhibition against the US WJC team in the 09/10 season. UND lost that game 4-2, but outshot the US 34-26. That game featured a cool side story in that Danny Kristo (in his freshman season at UND) made the USA team and ended up scoring the 4th USA goal (ENG) against his UND teammates. Here's the boxscore: http://www.collegehockeystats.net/0910/boxes/mndku201.d19
  19. Agreed on Zellers, might be best to see how he'd do against some tougher competition before he makes the jump to NCAA. A portal forward find (another Johannes/Berg-like player would be amazing) and then bring in the five freshmen forwards that you list above.
  20. Yeah like you mentioned, some of these guys need to realize that some patience is needed in their development. Panzer and Littler might be two guys that would get a lot more playing time with one more USHL season, so if they come in you hope that they stick with it and earn their playing time. For Emerson, he hasn’t played a ton…but from what we’ve seen so far, I doubt he’d be seeing significant playing time at any NCAA program. But give him a year or two and that could be a different story. But he wasn’t willing to be patient with his development.
  21. Yeah, they're having a bad season.
  22. If Croal, Swanson, and Boisvert come in next season (that'd be my guess, minimum)...and Albrecht, Gaber, Jammer, Johannes, and Ness all depart, he'd still have had a much better chance at getting a good amount of playing time as a soph. Of course, Gaber, Jammer, and Ness could all use a 5th year if they wanted, but I'm guessing only 1-2 of them would if given the opportunity.
  23. https://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/und-hockey/freshman-michael-emerson-leaves-und-hockey-team I understand wanting more playing time, for sure. But to bail on your teammates at mid-season is pretty crappy, IMO.
  24. What the heck. Give it a year or two at least man.
