  1. Just got back to lovely tropical GFK after a fun (and sometimes not so fun) weekend in Boston. Here are some thougts after seeing things first hand. -Good Sioux turnout...great at the NU game. Didn't go anywhere in the city without running into one or more Sioux fans. If you take away the students at the NU game, I bet 1 out of 4 was a Sioux fan. Way to go everyone! -The BC game was insanely hot inside. I would not doubt it was 80 degrees. I had to take off my jersey leaving just a t-shirt and jeans and I was sweating profusely, and I don't sweat easy. -At the NU game...Brad Malone and Derrick Lapoint were wandering a bit. I ran into Derrick and talked to him for a minute about the BC game and he said Thursday's practice was even worse. The ice was puddling in many places and they weren't sure if the game would even be played. He said it was horrible and he couldn't even see the puck when it was in the corners. -Brad looked like he was in good spirits when in the stands at the NU game. I didn't know about his injury until after the game, but he didn't look like he was in much pain and was mostly smiling...no arm slings or anything like that. We can only hope it wasn't as bad as it sounds. -I thought that UND could have played a lot harder than they did against NU. Lammy won that one hands down for our guys. -DOF line needs to pick it up a bit. Good movement at times but aren't getting many good looks. -Too many stupid penalties. -MTU will not be a gimmie at all. In fact, we will be VERY lucky to split if we played like we did this past weekend. That's all for now. Nice meeting some of you fans in Beantown! (I had a green Watkins jersey on Friday, black Smaby on Saturday for those that were there)
  2. Tied for fourth...go Sconnie Nations Finest!
  3. I'd say Turris is a big name...
  4. Yay! I had Turris and Tech....Okposo ruined the weekend for me
  5. I haven't heard any of your Keystone comments for months! Now it's officially hockey season.
  6. Flyin' out tomorrow! Can't wait!
  7. Gregoire also said that he was going to Denver....never rule anyone out
  8. Nice, I'm from the Sheboygan area
  9. Small piece on Toews and other young 'hawks on ESPN: Click here "Jonathan Toews, the Chicago Blackhawks' first-round pick and the third overall selection in the 2006 draft, played his first NHL game last Wednesday, centering a line between 2007 No. 1 draft pick Patrick Kane and Tuomo Ruutu, who was Chicago's ninth overall selection in 2001. "
  10. Where in WI are you from?
  11. I'm getting antsy and it's only Tuesday!

Also, the name/logo on the Nike replicas are very small. I know that on the authentic swifts the name/logo were smaller than the regular ones, but this is considerable. Just very cheap looking. My mistake on the K1 thing. Either way, I think they are better than the Nike ones.

I might be wrong, but isn't K1 the same as Koronis? Also, from what I've been told, the real swift isn't made out of the same air knit material that the regular sioux replica jerseys are made of. Once you see it you know it's just a cheap Nike imitation.

I already posted a reply about the Nike Swift replicas. They are terrible, the Koronis ones are actually much better in my opinion. The only downside on the Koronis ones is they seem a little baggy for that type of jersey. The Nike ones are pretty much the same materials as the regular replica jerseys.
  15. I asked about this once on a different site (non-hockey related) and they said there were only one or two reliable sports betting websites. I can't help much with what ones they were, but I'd be careful which you choose if you do find one.
  16. He needs to step it up a notch! That a boy David
  17. The person I heard it from had direct connections to the team so one of us got lied to, haha.

I saw the Nike Swifts today at the Sioux Shop. They only had a display one, none for sale yet. They are really sh!tty and are made of the same materials as the regular replicas pretty much. Very disappointed, I've been waiting for awhile for one. Also, they will be $119.23
  19. The other recruit was also from Roseau along with Lee, however not sure on the name. Maybe some guys with some more knowledge could fill in on who it could be.
  20. What are the odds that the Swifts make their season debut this weekend? I'd say it's only a 20% chance, but you never know, they might bust them out for most games this year.
  21. That fits the Cichy bill...but he's already a commit...could have been old news passed along to you?
  22. I don't think either game will be a shutout. Traveling time zones is tougher than you think. Even though BC lost to Michigan, you have to imagine they'll be very ready to play for their home opener. The rink will be loud and crazy. It will be a good test for UND and I think the BC game will be within 2 goals the whole game. The NU game, depending on how the BC game goes, will be a good place for Grieco to start (or Walski, but I would think Grieco first). NU isn't too crazy of a place to play, especially after play BC. I expect the Sioux to get it going early and often and coast to a victory. I think Martens and Marto will get a shot in this game also. Sioux by a few.
