If we played so many "good" games, maybe our team just isn't good enough this year.
-
It IS only November, but it IS a month and half of average hockey we still need to make up.
-
MEg looks like Pioux...

We shouldn't have to rely so heavily on a better second half. We need to have a good season start to finish. It's so hard to do it 3 years in a row, much less 4.
-
All you gotta do is watch the games... 1) He forces too many shots/passes offensively 2) Gets caught out of position too many times defensively for a player of his caliber 3) Has been transitioning poorly I've been watching him closely because since everyone said he was likely to leave, and then he came back, I've really watched him, among other defensive guys. He does tons of good still, but I don't think he's found his rhythm yet. When he plays his best, he's easily one of the best, if not the best defenseman in the NCAA. I just haven't seen it yet this year on a consistent basis. All you gotta do is watch. It may change starting next week, I'm just calling it like I've seen it so far. Just because someone is labeled as a great player doesn't mean they play great all the time.

I like that Taylor shoots, I just think sometimes he needs to pick better times to pull the trigger. I definitely didn't think last night was Taylor's worst game either. He's struggled all season with the exception of a couple games.

Moss just didn't want to be in Oakland, he didn't care. That's his personality issue, but definitely not a talent issue. The whole system has helped him produce in NE. My opinion is, if you take away Moss on that team, they'll still be awesome. If you take away Brady instead of Moss, they'll still be amazing. However, if you took away Brett Favre, they'd be a .500 team at best. I'd say Brett Favre is the MVP. He's putting up really gaudy stats, his team is still 10-1 (only one loss difference), and he's doing way more for his team.

LaPoint has been nothing but the real deal. He's been a top 2 defenseman on our team defensively, and now that he's starting to contribute on offense a bit, it's really helping the team. Marto is solid, but nowhere near LaPoint. He, again, has been out of position a few times and was lucky not to have Duluth put one in on him. I think Chorney has more than struggled defensively. He gets caught on the transition too many times...however he's stopped his fair share as well. I also think Taylor has forced too many shots from the point offensively.

Before reading this, I was going to say the same thing. Walski definitely needs to give Lammy a breather. I do, however, disagree with your screenname.
-
To stay in the goaltending subject, but off the Lammy topic...any word on our #3 yet?

Anyone disagree with splitting Duncan and Oshie as an experiment after watching that game? They're just not clicking.
-
Like I said, as a line, they haven't clicked as a unit. Most of their points have come from each of them creating individually. If Duncan can bring something to another line, and then our first line not missing a beat by putting Kozek there, why wouldn't you want to take advantage of it. I'm not expecting something like last year at all, I'm just saying the puck movement is less than ideal for a line that's supposed to still be one of the best in the country. (See threads that said Duncan--Oshie--Whoever-You-Put-Here would be best in the country).
-
Is it time to split up Oshie and Duncan? I think Hak should just to see what happens. Both have produce a fair amount of points, but virtually none have come from great puck movement with pass after pass like last year. The opposing defense heads aren't spinning like they used to and maybe a change of pace would be good. How bout: Vande-Oshie-Kozek (Oshie can do it all, Kozek's a shooter, and vande's a passer...all are great defensively) Kaip-Duncan-Frattin (hard workers with good mix of passing and shooting) Trupp-Miller-Malone (good mix of speed and size) Zajac-Watkins-Forney (let's see what forney can continue to do) I think that would be a pretty dynamic lineup.

I must have lost too many brain cells this semester, I went off the top of my head. It will change.

AZSIOUX told me to make this for his site and whatnot, so anyone else that wants to use it or post it anywhere to help spread the word, feel free to use it.

I'm guessing I don't want to know.

That's funny, I ordered two pepperoni pizzas from Slapshot today.

I don't think Scheel's in GF has those, but I think other Scheel's do.

Those 1959 jerseys are sweet. I love mine. I can't believe you got so few of them Ryan, these should sell like hotcakes. I wish I had money for the Hrkac too, it's hard to believe that is still for sale.

Students are basically considered GP for this series (and other holiday break games). They get reserved seats, but only have to pay the $7/game. For the most part, there isn't a student crowd for these games, just students mixed into the public. It doesn't create much of an atmosphere in an already stale REA.

UAA DOES have horrible puck handling skills. That's really degrading to the Gophs that they gave up 4 goals (3 in one period) to a team like that. I love AA's grit though and how they seem to play UM tough.
-
Hey, I'm not so sure you should be the one to criticize on fan attire there diggler, haha.
-
UMD is only 1-3 on the road this year, so let's get some stability going here in our schedule and kill them now, and by the time we play them at their place, we'll be rolling straight to the playoffs.
