  1. I would disagree that Jeff Panzer did not have an impact as a freshman. His freshman stats are posted below. 37 points is a good freshman season. Blais stated before the season that he thought Genoway could become a real scoring threat for the Sioux. Obviously that did not happen. Hopefully he will improve his sophmore year. We need certain guys to step up next year if the Sioux are going to challenge for the league title. The WCHA is going to be very good next year. Season Team GP G A Pts PIM 97-98 U. of North Dakota NCAA 37 14 23 37 18
  2. I think Genoway will sit, he just has not produced this year. I would suspect with a 4th line of Palmo, Marvin and Canaday that Fylling will play on the 2nd line with Massen and Lundbohm. Spiewak would then join Mcmahon and Prpich. Unless Massen joins the 3rd line and Spiewak and Fylling are Lundbohm's wingers. I am surprised Marvin is going to play forward and R. Hale defense. I know Marvin has played a little bit of forward this year but he seemed to be getting more comfortable playing D. That being said I think this gives Coach Blais more flexibility with R. Hale and Marvin able to play both forward and D. I would suspect Genoway, Connelly and Leinweber will be the scratches.
  3. I hate to say it but the way the goofs have been playing the Sioux will need to play a near perfect game to beat them on their home ice if they beat Ferris, which they should. I think the big sheet works to the goofs advantage. We need to play a game similar to the Friday night game when the Sioux were down here during the regular season. A big difference though is the Goofs are now healthy. Potulny makes a huge difference in their team. We need 1)STRONG goaltending 2) Someone unexpected to step up and score a big goal 3) clear rebounds 4) and maybe most importantly, A little PUCK LUCK!!
  4. As of now the only feed to pick up until 5:00 would be the Ferris St production. Unless Midco cable decides to air the game, that looks like the only option. I assume Woog and Mazocco will be doing the play by play for FSN, not sure what the audio would be for the Ferris St. cable production. This stinks, this has never been a problem in years past.
  5. I would trust the star-tribune article. They would have the most insight into what FSN is carrying. It will be joined in progress at 5:00. The first hour of the game will be missed unless for us Mpls. people there is a feed that can be found for Senser's.
  6. It is too bad for Connelly, but it is not an injury that will affect the outcome of any of the games. Connelly and Genoway are two guys that at the start of the season I think coach Blais would have expected more offense out of these two but they just can't seem to find the net. I suspect the fourth line will be Genoway-Fylling-Canady with Palmo as the scratch. Any comments out there as to who should be the 6th d-man assuming D. Hale plays. Do you go with the senior in Leinweber or do you go with the bigger Marvin, who does not have the experience but has played somewhat better as the season has gone on. I say you go with the senior he has earned it and deserves to play. I doubt we will see Ryan Hale playing any D this weekend.
  7. Yeah, I am gonna call the principal! The joke is on you Siouxrock
  8. Give me a break, you guys on puke on ice are the biggest homers of all. If anyone says something you guys don't agree with they get jumped all over. This is a SIOUX board so go back to goofer land if you don't like what this forums posters have to say!!
  9. I agree that this is an act that Siouxrock puts on to see what responses he can get to his 2 year old level postings. I too have seen this person make a few meaningful and understandable contributions to this board that do not make Siouxrock look like an idiot. If there was a person that had a mental handicap and wanted to be a part of this board but could not write at an adult level I would be totally fine with that. Nothing personal but I think this board would be a lot better off if Siouxrock stopped playing these games. I have read this board for a long time, but just signed up to post in the past few months.
  10. I agree with previous posters, the USCHO forum is garbage. There is rarely anything of substance or interest on there. It is just a bunch of ranting and raving.
  11. I also picked third place. I just think it is going to be awful tough to come back and play Friday at 2:00 against CC after the Duluth game ends at 10:00 Thurs. evening. I think it will help to be on the NHL ice surface though, as CC is used to the olympic surface and seems to play better on that surface. That is why they play 'em though. The Sioux have done well against CC in the playoffs in the past. I will be attending the games and am looking forward to the team coming on strong. If we can continue to get consistent goaltending the Sioux can beat anybody!!

    Sioux fan-atics

Who cares about your goofer chants, WPOS. You are the one who should "shut up" since most of us could care less about your opinion of Sioux hockey matters!!
  13. I also seem to remember that Adam Calder had quite long hair when he was a member of the Sioux as well, but nothing topped the year that Commodore wore the "fro"!
  14. I was one of many Sioux fans at Senser's in Bloomington last night. It was GREAT to see such a large turnout of Sioux fans. The place went nuts when Fuher banged home the game winning goal. Did anyone else see Woog and Mazacco (spelling?) as well as 5 members of the goofer hockey team there as well. It was a lot of fun and a big thanks to Senser's for providing the games for us. GO SIOUX!!
  15. I don't understand, could you please speak in English!!

I think it is pretty much a given that at least two of the four goalies on this year's roster will not be on the team next year. I do not believe Sofie or Siembidawill be on next year's roster. I also find it interesting that Blais did not mention Sedevie. He is the one with the scholarship for next year while Ziggy is walking on. Maybe with the serious injury to Sedevie, Blais is not going to count on him for much help next year, although it sounds as if his recovery is going well. It should be quite the competition for goaltender next year. Hopefully Marc or Jake can step up this weekend and we can go with one or the other for the final five and the NCAA's.
  17. Siouxrock- you really make yourself look like a fool with the constant errors in your grammar. You must think it is funny and do it on purpose. Here are my predicitons for this weekend: CC over AA in 2 MSU over Wisco in 3 - After watching Wisco a few games this year I don't know how they can win a game, but I think they will play with some pride this series. Minnesota over Tech in 2 Sioux over Denver in 3-hopefully the crowd is really into it. UMD over SCSU in 3
  18. I agree 100% with what Dagies has said. Let's face it, it was great to take care of business and get the 4 points out of the Wisconsin series, but Wisconsin is a BAD team. That being said Denver is a tough first round opponent and will prove to be a good test for the Sioux to see if they are playoff ready and can put some of the disappointment of the past month+ to rest. Unfortunately, I think the loss of David Hale is going to become even more apparent in the post-season where the games are tight and goals are harder to come by.
  19. That would be a good accomplishment for Notermann. He is a guy that all current Sioux hockey players can look up to his work ethic. He is not the most talented player but he always gives 110% on every shift and his hustle and strong defensive play provide a good example for the younger players on what it takes to be a complete hockey player. Hopefully the leadership of Notermann and Spiewak can help guide the team the rest of the season and especially in the post-season because those two guys have witnessed and been a contributor on a championship team!
  20. I would be very surprised if Hale played this weekend. Hopefully he can rest up and be ready for the Denver series. Besides playing Tech at home, there should be no reason not to gain 4 pts. even with Marvin in there. It will be important to have the Schneider/Hale tandem back playing together for the Denver series. That will be an important road test to get some points out there and help erase some of the CC disappointment.
  21. I would have to take Brandt. He has a tendency to give up some soft goals and juicy rebounds but lately he has picked it up a bit. He seems to give the team the best chance to win. I had high hopes for Siembida when he came in mid-season last year and played well. He has not shown the consistency needed in goal when he has played this year and other teams know he drops down too fast and they roof the puck on him. Rafranz has done Ok when he has gotten a chance. It is hard to know what he is capable of because he has not received the playing time.
