Typical Hak excuses in the postgame comments with Hennesy. "Alaska is a good team" blah blah blah.....This team will have a hell of a time making the NCAA tournament. This team is just not getting it done. Hak sounds like he is in la la land in the postgame. He may be a decent coach in time but he is not ready for this.

Lets pullout a sweep tonight and get some momentum for next weekend against those dirty BADgers. We owe them big time, hopefully there will be some real energy in the building next weekend, afternoon start times are a bummer though. Sparky is very quietly putting together a very good freshman season. I never thought he would have more points than Zajac at this point of the season.

Please....let's not get ahead of ourselves. With the track record of the team so far this year we will be lucky to get 2 points at UAA. They know how to frusturate an opponent and score opportunistic goals. Finishing third at this point would require a small miracle. It is now or never for this group of seniors and this team....no more excuses, time to salvage the season and make a run.

I watched the entire game, very entertaining game. Canada took the lead 4-0 in the first. It was a whole different game after that, the Planet USA team really had the upper hand the last 2 periods. Parise and Bochenski were on a line together for most of the game with Dustin Brown on the other wing. I believe Brown was on the world junior team that won gold. That line was very good in the 2nd and 3rd period. They created some good scoring chances and more than held their own. Bo will score some goals in the NHL, he looked very good to me and looks like he has improved his skating even from last year. Roche played for the Canadian team though an all star game is probably not the best forum for a defenseman to shine, though I saw he did jump into the play a few times.

This is a great outlet to follow the Sioux, I would be lost without it. Thanks to those who make it happen, it is much appreciated. In reading POI there were a few that really annoyed me, however it was a good resource to follow college hockey and the WCHA.

I chose Panzer he was really fun to watch fly up and down the ice. Plus he stayed the full four years.

Despite the losses this team has underachieved this year. There is no question about that. Most of the seniors on this team peaked in their sophmore year (Schneider and Massen) especially. Genoway and maybe McMahon are the only players that have shown improvement from year to year. The loss of Blais was the biggest blow to this team, there is leadership missing and it starts at the top. Hakstol has been average at best in his role this year. I will reserve judgement on him this year however since he is new at the job and may take more than one year to get fully acclimated.

I really wouldn't say he is the "real deal". I have not been too impressed with him so far granted he has been injured for a while now. As I recall from a coaches show last year Blais said when speaking of him as a recruit that he "was a lot like McMahon but with more of a scoring touch". I wouldn't call 0 goals and 4 assists in 22 games much of a scoring touch. He is a freshman and hopefully he can recover from this and contribute to the team in the future.

I hope I am wrong but I certainly am not holding my breath that any of those three are going to start scoring this season. I just don't think it is going happen.

I'd take the Yankees.......
-
I would take the Dogs anytime over the Goofies. That is one team I never root for no matter what the situation. The Yankees and Goofy hockey are two teams that I wish the worst of luck.

WHOAAA! That's about as serious as jaywalking!!

No Sh*t, He's gone duh! just stating a fact

The way some have reacted on this board you would think the guy had killed someone. Has anybody heard of innocent until proven guilty? Even if he is found guilty it is a misdemeanor. Unfortunately a decent percentage of our population has been faced with the same charge Greene is facing. It is not the end of the world, the key is to learn something from the mistake.

The punks on POI are already running with this, of course a GOOFER player does no wrong.

people...people...people... We don't even know the facts of the case. If he broke the law he will be punished just like any other citizen, no judge is going to care that he plays hockey for the Sioux when determining his punishment. Drinking is a huge part of the college culture at UND as I can attest to as a graduate of the institution and negative consequences and poor choices sometimes result. Let's face it there is not much else to do in GF in the middle of winter when it is 30 below outside. If you drive while impaired you will have to be prepared to face the consequences if caught.

Man would Bo have made a big difference for the Sioux this year.

Great post.....maybe the whole lavish atmosphere of the new REA has an effect on the play of these guys. I know in the past Blais complained about some of the guys out watching movies on the jumboton instead of getting focused for the game before a game. The new Ralph was necessary but it sure does not seem to strike fear in the opponents like the old barn did.

Bottom line, this team cannot put the puck in the net, that is what the game is all about scoring more goals than the other team. Shots on goal do not earn you any points, part of the Sioux's problem from the games I have seen is too often they shoot the puck right into the goalies chest instead of trying to pick the corners. In my opinion this is a very average Sioux team.
-
This would be a big boost for next year's team if he actually signs which based on the information I have read he will. He is going to be a big time player and we will have some very good forwards next year. Remember the regional is in GF next year so assuming the Sioux get in they will play at home to get to the frozen four just like the Goofers will this year. My biggest worry next year is on D, we will be awfully raw back there.
-
We do not have anyone who is close to even being considerd at this point. One of the few years in recent memory where a Sioux player was not mentioned as a possible candidate for the award. Zajac has arguably been the best player for the Sioux this year as a freshman and that is not a good sign considering the large senior class we have. Hence, the average first half of the season. In my opinion Genoway and McMahon are the only seniors who have stepped up their games this year. Without increased production from some of the other seniors we will be lucky to sneak into the tournament. Hopefully the break will re-energize the team for the second half of the season and we can cut down on penalties and start scoring some more goals.

Even though all the tickets were sold, most if not all of those were sold before the match up was known. I think there will be plenty of empty seats. Even the US Russia semifinal had quite a few empty seats.

I am sure there will be plenty of empty seats. I would think it would be pretty easy to get a cheap ticket.
