    NHL Playoffs

Yeah Luongo was awesome in goal but just could not quite get 'er done. Hopefully Lemaire will continue the free-wheeling style that we witnessed from the Wild this year. Too bad they gave up Bombardir last year, he would have really made a difference on the blue line. The Wild will regret taking Thielen, he will be a stiff.

    NHL Playoffs

I thought Dallas looked pretty good last night as well. Boy Modano can really skate even at his advanced age, what a treat to watch. Guerin is a physical winger who can grind it out or play the speed game, what a combo.
  3. Hopefully Miller can be healthy when dry land starts up. I just don't see him being more than a 4th line player next year. Hopefully he can come in and surprise some people and push some of the established players and bigger name recruits. We shall see....
  4. Which is not a whole lot!! But defenseman are on the team to play defense first.
  5. I agree with you there Dagies although Greene really took a bad one in the championship game that led to Stastny's power play goal to make it 3-1. He cross checked a guy in the corner who was going no where with the puck. Not a good penalty and it really put us in a hole at that point. I think next year if he is back you are going to see even a more disciplined Matt Greene, it is OK to take a few penalties if they are good penalties that prevent a good scoring chance or intimidate an opponent but that crosscheck in the Denver game was needless and a killer.
  6. Les Reaney???
  7. Basil does not know hockey if he thinks players don't start to look over their shoulder a little bit after a big hit. The Sioux were physical with Irmen and Potulny and they were invisible in that game. As I have said before the Goofers need to hit the weights because they are a soft team.
  8. I agree with this, Parise was a great player no doubt. However, as the best player on the team last year he really did not pick up his game in the postseason the way Zajac did this past post season. Zajac could still make a play with a d-man draped all over him, Parise struggled more when things got physical. It will be great seeing these two center lines for the Devils if there is an NHL in the future.

    Fabian's non-goal

I also agree that there was not conclusive evidence to call it a goal. Boy, that would have been a huge boost for the Sioux if that would have counted. It just wasn't our night. When you have a goalie stand on his head like that it makes it tough and then they come back and bounce the puck off of a guy and it deflects in.

    Phil Kessel

No just bitterness from Goofer fans that they still have to read the "Sioux out hit, out hustle and outscore the Goofers 4-2" headline on their homepage.

That is what I meant by padding stats Dubay. Besides you have no answer for league titles or NC's two great barometers of rising to the occasion when it matters most and winning hardware. Now Skip along Skippy, go hang some more Kessel posters in your bedroom.
  12. Draft position is a very good indicator of talent level, based on the draft positions of the two players they are in the same ballpark as far as talent level.

Thanks Dubay for that, by the way both schools do not agree on those numbers. I think the Goofers are trying to pad their stats. Besides hardware is most important and the Goofs cannot match the Sioux in league titles or NC's. You did not answer the question......are your boys going to hit the weight room this summer so they don't play like a bunch of pansies out there??? I have hardly seen a softer team than this year's golden bunch.

Duey, I didn't figure you would show up here anymore after that ass whuppin you're Goofers took a few weeks back. I am guessing the Goofy players are still nursing the bruises from being pounded into submission by the Sioux. Your Goofies better hit the weight room because they looked like a bunch of wimps out there, not willing to pay the price at all, now that is a team to be proud of.

  17. Yeah you definitely can tell it is the off season, fans are already starved for some hockey. I look for Zajac to score close to 30 goals next year. Now that he has his feet wet in the WCHA I think you are going to see him have a great year next year. That was a good article on Parise thanks for the link.
  18. Who was slamming Parise? I am saying that I believe Zajac had as impressive a freshman year as Parise did and I also think he will be a better pro but time will tell. Zajac is also much better on face offs than Parise was. Zajac is quite a bit bigger than Parise and that will help him at the NHL level. Zach was a great player but during his time at UND he was not able to help the Sioux do what great players do and that is win in the postseason.
  19. I agree! As talented a player as Parise was he was not able to lead us to the promised land. If think Zajac had almost as good of a freshman season as Parise did. I really think Zajac is more of a complete player as a freshman than Parise was, plus Zach seemed to really wear down as the season went on where Zajac did not seem to wear down as much and was great in the post season.
