  1. I would assume that NDBison40 's Ist post will also be his last post. He will never get his foot out of his mouth.
  2. I see where Texas Tech is ranked 8TH in the new Sports Illustrated Magazine. That is very good and also a little scary or I mean a lot scary. By the time next years game comes around they might be number 1. We will definitely get national exposure in the game. It will definitely be exciting leading up to the game. After the game starts ....................we'll see.
  3. It would appear that it is going to be a fairly high profile game. Texas Tech is ranked 14 in the country on the first poll. They did beat Oklahoma last year. They just simply are a lot better team than Ball State, Cent. Michigan and the Gophers. Depending on what Texas Tech does again this year they could have a real high profile. An example would be if they are playing on New Years Day again or if they are in the hunt for a national title. Judging by the remarks by Bison fans it is very apparent there is no jealousy.
  4. Actually there is about a 150% chance that we will get beat and beat quite badly. What the heck, it is a big payday, we are in transition, and it will still be quite an experience. We will definitely get a lot of exposure. Beleive it or not it can't hurt to tell recruits they can go along to Lubbock, Texas. Bison fans will ridicule everything we do anyway no matter what we do. It is always fine when they do something, but if UND does the same thing they laugh at it. It is just hitting a nerve with Bison fans that UND is already going to have high profile game on our schedule. UND will be playing by far a lot better team than NDSU has played so far in the Division I experience. NDSU better watch out. We're coming!!!
  5. I had heard too that is the reason why the press conference is when it is. I believe UND is just trying to be a good partner to everyone else. Kudos to UND. It real is no big deal.
  6. Did I miss something or has UND not announced the media situation for next year? Who are their contracts with and what stations are going to be carrying Sioux sports locally and statewide this year. What is going to be the broadcast team for football? Is Hammer back? Football is not all that far away now. I had gotten the impression they were going to announce this a while ago. Does anybody know?
  7. Apparently you think that NDSU is a lot better than they used to be. You also must think they are a lot better than all DII or UND. UND and NDSU did have a common opponent last year. They both played Southern Utah. The scores of the games were similar but from the start of the game to the end UND dominated their game much more so than NDSU. Are you saying that that was just a fluke? UND played them on the road and NDSU had a home game too.
  8. On the news at 5 they said the new athletic director had to get certain positions filled and media contracts put behind them. What is the situation with radio contracts for the various sports? Are they up for renewal next year or do we have another year left on them? If they are up for renewal what is likely to happen with them?
  9. I saw the game when the USD men played against UND in Grand Forks. It was the men against the boys that night. In my wildest dreams I would never have thought the Sioux could of beat USD at any time on any court. Huge props to the players and coaches for the Sioux men. Way to go.
  10. Actually the overall schedule is quite good. Unfortuanately the home schedule isn't going to be as good as were led to believe by Dale. Obviously some teams backed out on us. I wonder if the fact that Dale left had any effect on teams backing off. If Dale would of stayed maybe they wouldn't of backed out because of a feeling of commitment to Dale. Dale's leaving probably opened the door for them backing off. This is the ONE year where Sioux fans are going to have to bite their lip and suck it up for the team. Maybe we can luck out and get one more decent home game for next year. Maybe we should just get a bunch of busses heading to Southern Illinois for the game.
  11. Did Duraney White, the Canadian receiver previously mentioned on this site, ever commit to us like certain websites had listed he had?
  12. I am basing my statements on the hope that there haven't been any more decommittments. I sure hope we haven't lost any more kids than we are aware off.
  13. I have heard from sources that this is still going to be considered a very very good class. It really would of been something special if we hadn't had some late decomittments. Considering where we are in our transition it will be a great class. They still have their fingers crossed on some possible impact players. Time will tell.
  14. I have to admit that if he hadn't even taken a recruiting visit to Fargo the fact that he now commits to NDSU does make the whole thing look a little suspicous. It seems odd that he would give a verbal to one school and then a few days later switch to another school that he hadn't even taken a visit to. Are you sure he hadn't taken his visit to NDSU?
  15. If a kid verbals to a school , do other schools still recruit him or is it hands off? What is the norm?
  16. I hope when they have the Meet the Sioux basketball teams this year they maybe put just a little bit of effort into it. I think if it is does right they could help create a little bit of excitement for the programs. The women are going to be great and the men should be a lot better this year.
  17. Doesn't Mercyhurst play Grand Valley this weekend? Are they any good?
  18. I talked to a guy from USD last night and he made a few comments about their game against McNeese State last week. Mc Neese is ranked #6 in Division I-AA. He said they played them very tough. The score is a little misleading(31-7) The runningback for USD ran for 170 yards. USD fumbled inside their own 2 on two different occasions. McNees St. had a couple of really short drives. He said a USD receiver dropped a wide open touchdown pass. USD also fumbled when they were going in for a touchdown at the McNeese goaline. USD must be a pretty good football team to play McNeese that tough. Turnovers really distorted the score quite dramatically.
  19. Jeff Kolpack from the Fargo Forum said that if the Sioux and the Bison played twice that the Sioux would probably win in Grand Forks and the Bison would win in Fargo. Most Bison fans and Fargo media say that the Bison have raised the level of their play by a lot in the 4 years of DI transition. Ironically since the Sioux who are just starting their transition to DI and apparently would be capable of beating the Bison according to Kolpack, just think about at what level the Sioux could be at in 4 years.
  20. There were definitely empty seats at both games but the big difference is that NDSU's game was called a sellout and UND's was not. I wonder who buys all those tickets for NDSU games and never shows up. NDSU's administration must buy up the tickets so they can say they have a sellout.
  21. I just watched the Sioux Football show on WDAZ. Was the show on WDAY in Fargo this tonight? Is WDAY giving us the cold shoulder this year like they did last year when we tried to put a Sioux football game on statewide TV.
  22. Extremely impressive win for the Sioux. Utah scored their points at mop up time of the game when they were basically playing against the 3rd and 4th stringers. We fumbled at the goal line too. The score could of been 60 to 0 if we left our Ist or 2nd stringers in their. Considering Montana (the number 2 team in DIAA) didn't put Utah away till the end of the game, it really is very impressive. And Montana was playing at home and we were on the road. The Sioux have a hell of a team this year. We just simply have a lot of weapons. Just think what we could do in DIAA this year.
  23. It is to bad that we don't play Southern Utah at home like the bison do though. It would be a lot easier to compare the strengths of the two teams then. The Sioux are clearly a much better team at the Alerus.
  24. Both schools do play Southern Utah but the big difference is the Sioux play them on the road and the bison play them at home. Also the Sioux seem to be a better turf team and the game will be on the grass at Utah. But still all in all the games will give us a better idea how the two teams compare.
  25. The Gophers are just getting smoked by Bowling Green. The Gophers must be absolutely awful this year. They probably won't win a game this year.
