  1. There hasn't been much said since this appeared in the Herald in February. There are other efforts under way.
  2. It's good to know that The Gwoz and I saw the same thing at the West Regional. It's even better to know that I won't be seeing any pictures of him wearing his gardening gloves during practices prior to the Frozen Four.
  3. I've had some family and friends e-mail me about the flooding they've been hearing about in the Red River Valley. If the river crests as forecast, it shouldn't present any great problems for Grand Forks. Here's a good link from the National Weather Service that shows what's happening and what's expected to happen. Just to give people an idea of what the river looks like, I took some pictures on Sunday afternoon. They're probably already out of date by now. 4. He isn't the first student athlete taking an "easy" major that's had trouble with his studies, and he won't be the last.
  5. We'll see what Lumbergh has to say about that. Uh, yeah, I'm going to need you to come in Saturday around 7 p.m.

    Early outs

That isn't the reason the threads get locked. When the threads turn into flame fests filled with personal attacks, that's when they get locked.
  7. Where does this guy coach? Canisius?
  8. I didn't.
  9. So Stafford, Oshie, Toews and Duncan have been doing it with smoke and mirrors all season long?
  10. I don't spend much time worrying about the unpossible.
  11. Eastern bias!
  12. Which is why we hope and pray that you're never hired by The Don.
  13. Because more people are awake?

And like it or not, the price of energy is directly tied to the price of oil. When oil prices go up, all energy costs go up.
  15. About an hour before bedtime, I fired up the DVD player and watched the Sioux smoke DU 6-2 earlier in the season. I slept like a baby. EDIT: I'm not going to Milwaukee, but I am getting stressed out waiting for the puck to drop Thursday.
  16. I noticed that, too. I was quite surprised, to say the least.
  17. My guess is that our friend jumped on the Maine bandwagon after Minnesota was eliminated from the playoffs.
  18. Didn't you leave once?
  19. Especially when I've seen it used on this board a number of times.
  20. You're an absolute tiger on this, forecheck. Thanks for your efforts! Personally, I'd be happy with a replica HC version as I don't have the bucks to spare for the authentic version.
  21. Back in April 2000 when a ceremony was held in the old Ralph for the Fighting Sioux team that won the 2000 Frozen Four, former Sioux player Don Ross gave a great speech in which he referred to the significance of and attachment to the nickname. I wish I had a tape of that speech or a transcript of it because, as I recall, it was very moving. It was the kind of thing that needs to be said more often in public.
  22. I heard it was because "Hey! Sioux suck!" was the standard refrain used in that song when UND played at Minnesota. Gotta keep Myles, Walt and Bernie happy.
  23. Those are some true facts.
  24. True facts? What a concept! So who is your brother? Is he someone that Lucia tells his deepest, darkest secrets to, a confidant, a best friend or a trusted advisor? Or does he chat with The Don while pouring his mocha decaf latte at Caribou Coffee? Unless your brother is someone close to Lucia or an organization insider, my guess is that he's getting the standard answers to the questions that head coaches get asked a hundred times a week. Those anwers are generally intended to spin the situation in the best possible light for the public's benefit. I'm not saying that you're wrong about Johnson, but I am saying that with no context for your brother's association with or relationship to Lucia, your information can easily be placed in the "grain of salt" category.
