  1. I heard somewhere that it's NHL the neutral zone because the Milwaukee Admirals play at the Bradley Center and that's what they use.
  2. For those who weren't around, I did the same thing last season. You can read that blast from the past right here.
  3. I hope so. I want to start calling him Jonnny Taser because he stuns opposing goalies.
  4. Of course. The Wooger is a great source for material every season.

That can't be! It totally ruins the power play "specifics" had mapped out for next season's Gopher team.
  6. Great idea!
  7. Hey! Get your own nightmare!
  8. In my nightmare, the monkeys have a celery arm.
  9. As I was saying...
  10. It's a game, and you're taking it way too seriously.

    Red River flooding

Here are some more recent photos of flooding along the Red River in Grand Forks. They were posted on the Grand Forks Greenway Web site. I'm going to try to get some pictures of the river when it crests and I'll post links to them here.
  14. Some of these were mentioned previously, but I think they bear repeating at this time. "They came out playing the body real hard. They were in our face playing that scrummy kind of hockey. They

And where did the so-called "best freshman class in the nation" get the Gophers this season?
  16. Thanks, crosby 87. My favorite quote of the week comes from T.J. Oshie: I've only covered Sioux hockey for five years, but I have a really good feeling about this team. I've never seen a Sioux team that seemed to have such a good time together and that enjoys each other's company so much. It's like one big bunch of brothers, and I think it could very well be that bond that gets UND its eighth championship. Whatever happens from Thursday on, Dave Hakstol, Brad Berry, Cary Eades and Scott Koberinski are to be commended for the wonderful job they've done with this young group. The upperclassmen have done a great job, too. And the freshman? They're as much fun to visit with as they are to watch on the ice. We've had the pleasure of watching a great young group of players come together as a team. Let's enjoy the last few days of the season because I think they're going to be memorable.
  17. Hey, I really work up a sweat pulling the BBQ grill out of the garage. It's tough with a beer in one hand.

    Red River flooding

It would have to be a lot of rain before I started to worry about Grand Forks. Fargo, however, is another matter.
  19. I hate to throw cold water on this discussion, but all these points have been covered before in previous threads on this forum. The NCAA will rule on UND's final appeal on April 27. All we can do at this point is wait to see what the NCAA says, see what UND's response is and then go from there. Right now, the best thing UND has going for it is the Fighting Sioux hockey team's appearance in the Frozen Four. Our players will once again be on national TV wearing their "hostile and abusive" jerseys. That wasn't supposed to happen. Having Sioux references displayed at the Ralph during the NCAA West Regionals wasn't supposed to happen. Having an NCAA basketball tournament at the Betty wasn't supposed to happen. Having UND's basketball, football, soccer and cross country teams wear uniforms during the NCAA playoffs containing Sioux references wasn't supposed to happen. Every time UND has pushed back on this issue, the NCAA has retreated. What happens on April 27th should be quite interesting.
  20. And I heard that Ralph is in heaven with his finger on the REA implosion button.
  21. Did Cole ever explain that the highlights came from a student-run radio station at Holy Cross? I didn't listen to the whole thing, but in the part that I heard, Cole provided very little context for what was going on and why.
  22. Yes. I personally measured it with my ruler.
  23. Hey, maybe we should form a club or a support group. I expect to have Sunny the beagle curled up on the couch next to me while I watch the Frozen Four on the living room TV at home.

    Red River flooding

How much snow we get throughout the course of a winter doesn't always mean much. We got a lot of snow late in the winter that contained a great deal of moisture. It melted suddenly and the snowmelt was accompanied by heavy rainfall. Thus, we have flooding. There have been other winters during which we received much more snow, but because of the manner in which it melted and a lack of precipitation accompanying the snowmelt, flooding wasn't as severe as this spring. It all depends on the timing of events.
