  1. it is if it is your second game dq, which couldn't be possible in the same game, but i see what you're saying. he is not getting off anything. hunt f-ed up the radke/testwide altercation (which they both should have been tossed for after a few good punches would have been exchanged). the fact that he kept both of them in the game allowed radke to fight, again, and finally get tossed like he should have earlier. and radke wouldn't have had to kick the sh#t out of vossberg if the dumbass du players would have just gone to the locker room instead of acting tough having the entire bench try to intimidate finley, genoway and our goalie. 15 on 3, i guess that one slipped out of gwoz' rules of combat conduct edit: gwoz is hands down my favorite nancy boy in college hockey now, what a tool!
  2. i love the idea... im partial to this, this song reminds me of sioux hockey... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sAmuzdGYGlo also, the final two and a half minutes of this would be badass... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nDjKNvRCX0Q speaking of MAN-tages, this is damn funny... not on topic, but still funny... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JvltzwkUEEA
  3. mr. hockey finalists named... eric meland, fwd, rr ryan ladoucer, def, rr colby rehak, def, whs jared labere, def, bhs i think ladoucer wins it, but four deserving finalists. oh no, two out of the four are from the west, what has the state come to
  4. is willeston near grond ferks? ill give you 5-1 odds none of your scores are even close... bhs beats north, and whs/south will be a close game
  5. we usually won't get a full schedule until mid-summer, but once non-conference games are scheduled, i know they usually release those dates. haven't heard anything about cornell, but would be a good series, we could see sioux defector in nash (whose brother plays there also i believe). i've heard he is quite talented. i know we play in the mich., mich. state tourney next year, but that is all i have heard.
  6. my respect for you is now renewed mike (i know you have been anxiously waiting ) i'm with you 100%. if the officiating crews are going to let this s@#t go, then it gets settled by the teams. the rest of the wcha is just pissed because not only do the sioux beat you on the scoreboard, we stick up for teammates and beat you physically if it comes to it. i couldn't care less if nancy gwozdecky or the rest of the wcha call us goons, we play to win, and right now, this is how it is done. im all for a more free flowing game where the skilled players can show their skill, it sucks we have to wait until the nhl to really see what parise, toews, osh, etc. can do... thanks again wcha officiating!
  7. i find the east side arrogance tiring. i am born and raised north dakota, and have lived many years on both sides of the state. noone is going to argue that grand forks, and once in a while fargo, is at the top of the ladder when it comes to hockey, but that is one sport and one aspect of a school and town. i am a hockey nut, i played and i follow it as much as i can (not as much high school as i would like, but i still keep up) but because grand forks has dominated that sport, doesn't mean the rest of the state isn't advancing and growing that program. i have actually been impressed with some of the west schools lately, and that is a good thing for nd. by your reasoning, then the west should drop playing all east teams in basketball or wrestling, and only play south in football? someday you may realize, if you care about your state as a whole like i do, that what is good for the state is advancement in all areas of all our schools. that being said, rr is the team to beat this year hands down, i don't think many will argue that, but last time i checked bismarck is the only nd school to not have lost to any other nd team (and yes i know they haven't played rr or gpr), so don't write them off just yet... should be a fun tourney. and don't be surprised to see williston knock off south thursday night.
  8. i would say we could install a "cant sign a pro contract until you can grow a beard rule" that would work out ok for us, except i think watkins could have signed after his sophmore year of high school now that is a playoff beard!
  9. according to the jerseys thread, the lady bid herself up from $6500 to $7000 for no reason i was not there, but the same lady who bought both apparently was not being very pleasant to her fellow bidders. oh well, she paid over $9000 with taxes that goes to the hockey program, so lets just hope this is her one and only appearance at the bidding table. now i really feel like i got a steal on my kaip jersey
  10. we've had some mid-season departures recently... grieco and bishop. it is a little different because neither went pro (don't know if either will make that level) and neither were getting any real playing time. grieco has been very unimpressive this season when he has played, and bishop is the second leading scorer in the bchl. we will have to see how bishop fares in the ncaa again next season, i have a feeling he could be a decent college player, but im still not sold on grieco, has never shown any consistency. all in all, this is a bad thing for all of college hockey. a very ugly trend, and i hope that college hockey and the nhl can figure something out to prevent this in the future.
  11. kessler should keep his head up. greene had his elbow up, but not a dirty hit. should have been a 2 min elbow, the five minute was for the scrum in the corner afterwards.
  12. we've got a great problem with 7 legit wcha defensemen, but moving chay to forward is not the solution. he is our best puck moving defenseman, and we cannot sacrafice that. times when we have struggled, we have struggled breaking out of our own end, shifts get too long, and bad things happen. i think marto and lapoint rotate like they have been, and be ready to step up as first or second pair dmen next season.
  13. too many days without sioux hockey... and i found my way to this thread. you're entitled to your opinion here dave, but i think you are way off. yes he was a junkie, and i have never and never will condone that, but that does not take away from who he was as a musician. i think curt was a visionary and an excellent songwriter, although rough and not for everyone. it is sad how many of our times musical geniuses were led astray because of drugs. can you imagine if jimi hendrix or janis joplin or brad nowell or kurt cobain had stayed sober and stayed around to mature musically? those musical minds are few and FAR between, and too many are wasted on smack, but i am begining to sound like and anti-drug PSA nirvana was never one of my top bands, but this was one of my favorites... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sUUHNf0S5cA...feature=related
  14. i think we should get an ss.com grudgematch forum that can be specifically for those "special" ss.com posters who have selective animosity towards others. i have noticed dean has a special affinity for goon, and there are some others. we could do it "your mama style" like in the nhl.com commercial where ryan miller pulls out the japanese your mama ...your mama's so ugly, they renamed halloween, yourmamaween. sorry, i just saw that commercial, and it seemed fitting
  15. ill take the over, i think the sioux have a solid team effort offensively and defensively both nights... 4-1 friday, 4-2 saturday. and frattin will score friday so i can make past the first day of sioux survivor
  16. so he has had a few moments of clarity still an east coast tool
  17. im also probaly still bitter about hall and bob "give me another doughnut" norton doing their hobey baker "analysis" last year that consisted of talking about three players from.... surprise, surprise, the east, including two goalies, who weren't even in the hobey hat trick the best is norton rambling on about how hensick... or the bu goalie... or the nd goalie... were definitely going to win it (way to stick your neck out and make a choice ) i wish they would have had a camera on norton when duncs won it!
  18. i agree mozsucko is brutal... i was just using woog as an example of what i wish all hockey sportscasters were like. knowledgeable and fairly objective in their analysis of the game. woog has his homer moments, as all do. i still stand by my other point... mike hall is the worst, and yes he is employed due to a reality show that lasted one season.
  19. a few of our fellow posters here on ss.com, especially the ones who post on this forum, tend to show themselves for who they really are in alot of their posts... high school age (or close to it) kids who like to stir the pot. they have specific alegiences that they stick to in reguards to their respective nd hs hockey team, and tend to bash anyone who dares disagree with them. i think the best solution to this nuisance is to just ignore them, it seems to work with my kids, ignore the bad behavior, thus invalidating it . i don't know enough about the kids in question to know how they will fare in the ushl, but if the coaching staffs feel they deserve a chance, then i guess they will get that chance. back on topic, what time is the rr/gpr game tonight? also, anyone who has seen bismarck, can they keep up with these two? i see they are undefeated against all nd competition this season. i'm sure i will get a stern reprimand from our posters in question now, but i guess i can take it
  20. i had a feeling they just picked up their feed. i think the cstv guys were even worse last night. noone is as good as the sioux homers i guess we all have our homers, i just prefer that they are knowledgeable about the game. i actually think wooger is one of the best around. i think that hands down the worst "hockey expert/analyst" of all time (yes even worse than puffy) is mike hall from espn. as big of company as espn is, you think they could find a legit college hockey guy for their national coverage. hall is completely and utterly brutal!
  21. i think the way he handled this bad situation will only help him in the future for recruiting purposes. every coach in the wcha, and probably college hockey, has mumbled, whispered or even shouted an obscenity at or to an official at some time, most are not caught on tape for the world to see, but believe me it happens all the time. hey we even have coaches who try to start fights with opposing coaches on the ice following a game or follow officials to their dressing room to continue to berate them. our team, including coaching staff, are no angels, but coach hakstol is a stand up person. he is regretful for the way he expressed his disgust with don adam (although his feelings toward his officiating most likely have not changed) and has stated so publicly. he is a husband, father and coach of twenty some young men, and prides himself on being a proud example on and off the ice. he recruits quality kids, from quality families who appreciate all of this about him, and this will continue for many years to come. sioux nation stands behind its coach and team, GO SIOUX!
  22. so 0 for 10 on the season for the goofs in ot... that isn't a good stat.
  23. 1-1 end of ot... we need the goofs to pull it off tomorrow.
  24. overtime for the goofs and du... the goofs have not won in ot in nine tries this season.
