  1. behind his teammate bina possibly? and defensively, i think even he would tell you he has not been his best.
  2. i agree 100%. didnt they play some other godsmack also? i stand alone? the video needs to be revamped, moreso musically, i dont mind the video... toss in a couple more highlights though.
  3. after listening to some of the old songs played at the ralph... warmups, intros, tv timeouts, whatever... i am getting kind of nostalgic for all our old music. is it just me getting older, or does our music, especially our intro video, leave something to be desired? especially during the game, they used to play some harder music to get the crowd loud and into the games, and now it is either rave dance music or the chicken dance. any thoughts... and it could very well be me just being older and not getting the dance music thing, but it sure doesn't seem to get the crown into it like the old stuff did.
  4. those tall beers are trouble either risk missing a goal or wait in line all intermission... tough choices we sioux fans have to make
  5. gopherguy, i agree that everyone is entitled to their opinion. mine is that puffy is a tool, and probably made his remarks to distract from how terrible tdon and his beloved goofers are. id be interested to hear his current view on the rodents since the sioux are so weak
  6. ill take duncs sports doc wants kozek, doesn't have cpu access today thanks again redfrog for getting this going, it's a great idea, i just hope i last through the first game this time
  7. hate to disagree back, but the only goal he allowed, he was screened and didn't see, can't really blame him when he cant see. other than that, he stopped all shots faced. i think he was solid, again, and helped us to a win. ill take one goal allowed every day of the week and twice on sunday. as to your argument on hitting the post, yeah??, the goals are the same size for everyone, and if i recall, osh put a dent in the crossbar last night. i can't argue if you want to put osh, trupp, and kozek as the stars, they played great, id even put chay up there, but to say jpl wasn't sharp and doesn't deserve some recognition is laughable.
  8. i would have gone... #1 - osh #2 - jpl #3 - kozek i agree that jpl kept us in that game last night, as he has done many time this season. lets score 7 tonight! go sioux!
  9. im pretty sure our posts on a website forum won't affect the boys this weekend... so sioux sweep!
  10. i agree for the most part, but would substitute "bad team" for at least "average team". a great team against a bad team will win against most if not all odds, however an inferior but solid team can definitely ride a hot goalie to victory. case and point... last years first round game in the state tourney against williston... rr didn't even have a lead until five minutes left in the game, and barely got the victory. williston rode a hot goalie and a physical gameplan that almost won them the game. this was the #1 team in the state against the #4 seed from the west. rr has been the cream of the crop the past few years (and many others in the history of nd hs hockey), but hockey statewide is getting better, and that is a good thing. i know alot of you here are current or recent hs alum and have on the "insert hs name/color" glasses on and only have the foresight or energy to root for your team, and that is fine. but we should all support the advancement of nd hs hockey. it is good for our state and our teams we cheer for, whoever that may be. it wasn't too long ago that a nd team taking the top mn team to overtime (and should have beat them) would never have happened. i think it is great what rr is doing this season and wish them the best, but don't give them the trophy yet, let them earn it.
  11. all right you two, one of you win it this week so we can start over, i need another shot. who would have thunk the oshie wouldn't score against the purple cows?
  12. youre going to have to pick your poison millsy. i feel for you and the bsu program, i do. i would love nothing more than to be able to add the bemidji road trip to my winter schedule, but since the wcha is extending their moritorium on expansion, its either lose the d1 program, or embrace new teams to keep the cha a vialble league, whatever that may entail. i think adding the canadian schools to the cha is a great thing for your conference and college hockey as a whole gets another full, legit conference. the travel may not be ideal, but it is what it is, as college hockey expands, so will the travel. however it works out, i hope the sioux keep scheduling you guys, it is a fun series to watch.
  13. it's nothing like a true heated playoff game, but i actually enjoy the nhl allstar weekend. i like it better than the mlb allstar game or the probowl. the contact is minimal, but the players still play hard, and it is usually a decent game to watch. i think the nhl skills competition is alot more interesting than any of the other pro sports counterparts.
  14. come on doc, noone wants to cloud this topic with facts. didn't you know that rr will go undefeated to their title this year and every other nd team is a disgrace rr IS the best team in the state this year, but that doesn't mean they are unbeatable. Malm's comments are very similar to the sentiments of the Roseau coach after they edged out rr in overtime. on most days, Roseau is better than RR, but RR outplayed them and lost in overtime. sounds very similar to the south game, very competitive but south still ended up on the losing side. it will take a hell of a game by the opposition, but believe it or not, there are teams in ND that can beat rr.
  15. the team has been starting to click. balanced scoring. great team defense. jpl may have let in a couple he wants back, but that happens, he is still playing great, look at his stats. i hope kaiper and anderson make up before the game, or did he graduate? lets see another stick salute! go sioux!
  16. my feed must be slow... damn u and your fast usb brad
  17. lets go sioux! sounds like kaiper is possesed tonight.
  18. if we get shutout (which wont happen) or scoring player(s) not picked, does it go to the next game? this would probably only be an issue towards the end, just wondering? great idea redfrog!
  19. like the idea... start with strength... ill take the osh
  20. that is an interesting question. he has missed quite a bit of time which leads me to believe it was a fairly severe concussion, and they are being cautious, as they should. if he has any lingering post-concussion problems, he may miss some extended time, which may delay him a year, but this is all speculation. wish him all the best and can't wait to see him in a sioux sweater. having lived in omaha for a while, i have to root for the omaha kid
  21. i don't think it is the sioux's year for another hobey, but that is ok, we will take #8 instead and i think gerbe is pushing porter pretty hard for the top spot, i say it goes to one of those two. i said at the begining of the year that i thought porter would be the non-sioux factor, too bad i wasn't correct on the rest of my prediction (osh, duncs, porter hobey hat trick). who knows, if duncs or osh goes off the next few weeks, they could make a case for themselves, but it would be a tough road. as for jpl, i think it is just too tough for a goalie unless they have ryan miller stats.
  22. i've always said i like genoway best on the blueline, but i think lapointe and marto both deserve to be in there, so i'll jump on the d.o.g. wagon. why not, it's better than miller up there (apologies to any miller fanatics, i like him, just not on the top line). let the d.o.g. lead us to another sweep!! keep it rolling boys, go sioux!
  23. i think sending guys out to fight just because you are getting your a$$ kicked or are up a few is classless. i think kaip's situation is different, i think the purple cows did exatly that last year, and it cost a couple of our guys a game. kaip restrained because he knew it would cost him two all important games, so ended up letting the purple cow tee off on him. i think if kaip challenges him, it will be some self policing to keep some honor in the game and fighting in particular, and i think it wouldn't hurt the teams morale and momentum either. my humble opinion on it. i do enjoy a good hockey fight once in a while, i think it can be a good thing for the game. at least it is toe to toe, face to face, not some pu$$y (pardon the language) cheap crap like slashing or cfb, that happens all the time by the way, and can seriously hurt someone. edit: the crosscheck to the osh's hip at du that had him limited for over a month... that is classless, sorry had to finish my rant
  24. is the other rr defenceman not getting any offers? i thought both ladeucer and galbreath (sp?) were potential d1 guys with a year or two more experience, possible some ushl seasoning? im not sold on the goalie as d1 material, but i don't see them play too often. meland has some skills. i would hope he wouldn't rule out the ivy league, get the best of both worlds... top education and d1 hockey, but i understand the lure of the wcha (even with our officials ) the rehak kid out of williston might be the most physical defencemen in the state and a smooth skater, i believe he is planning on ushl next season. other than that, i don't know much about possible nd college players.
  25. i don't think it will be first shift, but i don't see kaiper letting bruess off the hook for his cheapshot haymakers last season. if it is a close game, and will hurt the team, kaip won't do it. he is all about the team and is why he wears the "c". but if we are rolling over them, like i think we will, don't think hak has forgot what happened, and i am pretty sure he may put kaip's line out there against bruess' line at the appropriate time. i didn't go digging through the entire topic, so does anyone know if there is tv coverage for this weekend, or will i have to break down and get the webcast? any help without the "did you look two pages earlier" is appreciated.
