  1. are the highlights something that they out sourced to Midco? But, I agree - the basketball media presence and highlights have been lacking. I did see a nice first person video of the celebration at the end of the Saturdays game.
  2. It was a pretty rough game: Early in the game a elbow was thrown down low that caught Tyree in the jaw - they checked and said no. The TV commentator was surprised by the no call. Omot had to leave the game for a short period of time. He ended up with a couple of stitches on his eyebrow. Amar then drew a F1 at the end of the game. It looked like a clear F1 to me. But, I am a Sioux fan so I do carry some bias. I only mention the others to say it was a very physical game. And refs let them play, which I think NDSU used it to their advantage.
  3. Amar and Tyree are making all the difference with this team. They give this team grit. UND matched up with NDSU in post. And to me that is the game. UND: Amar - 4 - OReb, 9 - DReb, 2 - BLK, 11 - pts TT - 1 - OReb, 1 - DReb, 0 - BLK, 10 - pts NDSU: Morgan: 1 - OReb, 3 - DReb, 0 - BLK, 14 - pts Feddersen: 1 - OReb, 4 - DReb, 0 - BLK, 6 - pts And I don't understand how Omot did not take his defender to the cleaners. NDSU matched up a 6' guard on him. That should have been exploited all game long. Omot FG 4-12, 0 - OReb, 1 - DReb, 0 - Asst, 10 - pts
  4. Isn't Tyree a match up problem for Wheeler-Thomas. Wheeler-Thomas looked like he was under 6'. Tyree can just take him down low.
  5. The addition of Tyree and Amar have been huge. Little nervous about the players wearing down. They have basically gone to a 7 rotation with King and Brady coming off the bench. Amar with a 17 reb/ 17 pts is crazy.
  6. They are in the middle of major renovations. I think it will be finished prior to the start of next season. Back in the day it used to seat 9,000. The arena's attendance record is for the SDSU-Augustana men's game on February 11, 1989, which attracted 9,456 fans. But, they have slowly destroyed the place. It seats 6,500 right now. But, they are going to finally fix it with a big remodel project. Estimated at $50 million overall, the renovation project is expected to take two years to complete. Construction will take place in multiple phases to avoid relocation and interruption of SDSU events. Once complete, fan experience and gameday atmosphere will be taken to the next level with: new premium seating areas and suites, state-of-the-art video board and display systems, an enhanced sound system, a more spacious concourse, and improved restrooms. New and improved locker rooms and offices are also a part of the renovation design, which will have an estimated capacity of 5,500. https://www.sdstatefoundation.org/stories/first-bank-trust-commits-20-million-to-frost-arena-renovation
  7. Bruns has been heating up 3 for 3 from 3 this half. He is shooting well. They need to get out on him.
  8. 4 grabbing hit ankle - not good.
  9. UND 57 to USD 46 13 minute left
  10. Amar is killing them right now. 16 rebounds and 13 points
  11. Get back to even number of teams and get back to double headers. You would see a big improvement in gameday environment. But, that would make too much sense.
  12. But, that doesn't jive with the UND offering Danny Freund more money to stay? If that was the messaging from UND in the beginning. I am not sure that you would see the response that you have.
  13. Oh come on, having a little fun
  14. I was thinking about that yesterday. Three of the best offenses in FCS are now in the hands of ex UND OCs: 1) SDSU - Freund 2) NSDU - Landry 3) Idaho - Schleusner
  15. Dom's thoughts on the Summit League and the need to get back to 10: https://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/bison-media-zone/mens-sports/izzo-the-summit-league-needs-a-new-conference-member-and-soon I thought the team he mentioned was interesting. A D-II call that has football - Northwest Missouri State. When I think of D-II Schools with that profile, I can think of: 1) Minnesota Mankato 2) Grand Valley State 3) Colorado Pueblo - is the school that most people talk about. I think Colorado Schools of Mines would be really interesting. 4) Of course Augie, with the success start of hockey and opening of new arena. Does that put plans on hold or accelerate them seeing that D-I sports brings in the casual fans of Sioux Falls. But based on Dom's discussion with other coaches they are hoping for an established D-I program. The only thing I can think of is: Arkansas - Little Rock and the two Wisconsin schools in the Horizon or UNC from the Big Sky. Anyway, same topics as usual. It will be interesting to see how it goes. The next steps for the Summit will be interesting. Will some schools get impatient waiting for expansion and start looking again. Expansion always tests conferences but the Summit always seems survive. How about a little Summit League Trivia: Name the one Private Schools to leave the Summit League for another D-I conference? Name the other Private School to leave the Summit League to a lower level Division? How many Public schools have transition to another D-1 conference? What is the most popular destination for Summit League schools when they leave?
  16. Yes, a share and more exposure.
  17. I think this is a nice hire: U of Minnesota Player Pro - Lions and Vikings Stops at: Wisconsin La Crosse OC WR Coach, UNI WR Coach, Northern St - OC, Winona St - OC No ties to UND, fresh blood into the system. I like it. Let's GO!
  18. Some really nice games this week. UND and SDSU both playing two teams at the bottom of the conference. They just happen to be Rivals. Important for UND to win these games to stay in contact with SDSU. Thursday UND @ USD NDSU @ SDSU StT @ Omaha Denver @ KC Sat: NDSU @ UND Denver @ ORU St.T @ KC Sun: USD @ SDSU Current Standings: SDSU 5-2 St.T 4-3 Denver 4-3 UND 4-3 Omaha 4-4 ORU 4-4 KC 3-4 NDSU 2-4 USD 2-5
  19. As 94 posted, I am excited for the offense next year. But, it the defense that needs to take the next step for UND to make progress as a program.
  20. I really like was 3 Amar adds to team when he is on the court. And I was surprised to see Amar, TT, Omot, and Eaglestaff all on the court at the same time so much yesterday. That is a long line-up - 6'8", 6'9", 6'8", 6'6'. Anyway, yesterday was one of the best games that I have seen from UND is a while. I hope that they can keep it up. If they do, it could be a fun season.
  21. Hong with an Air Ball at the horn
  22. As far as, Kris and Kennedy. Things can get personal in negotiations. In the end many times both parties regret their actions. I can see your point about public airing of differences. It was in bad form. But I certainly don't think anyone has the full story that led to that action. Dealing with political creatures can be exhausting.
  23. I am not an insider, but I don't get the distain here at all for Kris, Hockey or/and the Ralph. If anything, football leadership starting with RT and Lennon need to own much of the current state of the program. They did it to themselves. Hockey did not stop the transition, Hockey didn't tell RT to quit at critical point when starting the move, Hockey tell Dale to leave, Hockey didn't hire Bubba.. The football guys have been fumbling for several years now.
  24. The backup for SDSU has a higher upside than Gronowski.. He has a better arm and is a better athlete.
  25. One other thing the department has been working on is endowed football scholarships. I believe in the press release their have been I believe 12 or 13 scholarship endowments in the last 3 years. Great job those that have step forward. It is a great way to support the football program.
