  1. UND's home schedule is very nice: Sep 7th - Montana (3) Sep 14th - Idaho St. Sep 21st - San Diego Sep 28th - Murray St. Oct 19th - UNI Nov 9th - SDSU (1) Nov 16th - USD (8) Road Games include: Iowa St, NDSU (3), YSU (14), Indiana St. and Illinois St.
  2. Game against NDSU will be interesting. NDSU got away with a guard on Omot last game and they won the match-up. I have to think Omot might be looking forward to that match-up again.
  3. This really feel like a race to 11 wins. UM-KC last four: USD, UNO, DU and ORU. They can make to 10-6. UNO last three: ORU, UMKC, StT. I had UNO at 8-8 previously. I am thinking that it might be 7-9. StT last four: NDSU, SDSU, UNO, DU. This looks like 3-2 for final record of 9-7. Still sitting at 9-7 because they have xDSU on the road. SDSU last four: DU, StT, UND, NDSU. They play the top 3 schools and a tough UNO. So, do they go on a streak. - 11-5. They lose to UND or NDSU. No change, but they got lucky with the win on the road in OT against UNO. UNO handed the game over. NDSU last four: StT, UND, USD, SDSU. The schedule is a little better for NDSU. They lose to UND or SDSU. 10-6. I am shocked that NDSU lost of DU. That lose hurts and I think 9-7 is more realistic. UND last four: NDSU, SDSU, USD. I for sure see 2-2 but I am calling 3-1 with a lose to NDSU or SDSU. 11-5. Big road sweep this weekend for UND. NDSU is a huge game. UND will need to be ready to play next Saturday. UND and SDSU share the title. St. Thomas is the wild card. Can they beat SDSU or NDSU? Not much of a change. The last two weeks is going to be fun to watch. So, many games between the top 4 schools.
  4. If I am reading this correctly, there is a document that refers to "Facility Usage Fee" in multiple locations. I assume that the REA includes both the Ralph and Betty. So, this FU Fee is used to support the teams that are tenants in those facilities or use those facilities for game day. So, it is supporting the following programs: Men Hockey Mens and Womens Basketball Womens volleyball Womens soccer.
  5. As it currently stands both SDSU and NDSU have clear advantages with football facilities. The facilities UND is in progress with are to simply close that gap. It certainly will not give UND a clear advantage that both SDSU and NDSU have today. So, am I saying that all the sudden UND is pouching recruits from xDSU - NO. But I can see UND in more recruiting battles head to head with both schools. Other areas that I have seen UND work on recently includes endowed scholarships for the football program. UND recently created 10/15 endowed scholarships. This is going to make money available for other needs. And it is going to take these types of changes over the long term to get there, unless there is a Denny Sanford waiting to help UND. Again, coaching salaries and NIL are two areas that UND will need to monitor and improve on. I look forward to improvements in this area. It is clear Bubba knows about the coaching salaries and he is doing everything he can to improve them. As far as your comments about SDSU, it will be interesting to see if they can continue to reload. Much of there success was based on keeping a CORE group of players for 6 years. That 6 year advantage will be going away. And can they continue to keep the next round of players. You have started to see NDSU have problems with that (a good problem to have IMO). We will see. Plus, I am not sure SDSU can generate the NIL money that NDSU does. The next 4/5 years will be very interesting.
  6. I agree with you. UND will have some of the best facilities in the MVFC later this year.
  7. The reality is that nobody on this message board can state exactly what the 52% is used for.. is that money exclusive to Hockey which many here assume. I don't know, but I think that is a silly notion.
  8. To be honest, I have no problem with UND's approach - student focused first: 1) Facilities - Fritz (Indoor Practice Facility) - Open - Memorial I (Coaches Offices, Other areas) - Open Fall 2024 - Fritz II (Locker rooms, new outdoor track and outdoor field turf) - Open Fall 2024 2) Cost of attendance, Alstom ($1 million annually) - (starting spring of 24). 3) Then coaching salaries Next up coaching salaries. People need to remember SDSU and USD still have mortgages to pay for their facilities. If the North Dakota schools were able to use State Bonding for athletic facilities it would be helpful. So, you don't have an apples to apple comparison.
  9. This really feel like a race to 11 wins. UM-KC last four: USD, UNO, DU and ORU. They can make to 10-6. UNO last four: SDSU, ORU, UMKC, StT. It feels like UNO ends up 8-8. StT last five: USD, NDSU, SDSU, UNO, DU. This looks like 3-2 for final record of 9-7 SDSU last five: UNO, DU, StT, UND, NDSU. They play the top 3 schools and a tough UNO. So, they do they go on a streak to win it - 11-5. They lose to UND or NDSU. NDSU last five: DU, StT, UND, USD, SDSU. The schedule is a little better for NDSU. They lose to UND or SDSU. 10-6. UND last four: ORU, NDSU, SDSU, USD. I for sure see 2-2 but I am calling 3-1 with a lose to NDSU or SDSU. 11-5. UND and SDSU share the title. St. Thomas is the wild card. Can they beat SDSU or NDSU?
  10. Congrats to Tyree - all the best for your new family.
  11. I really enjoyed watching Tank play. But, I think that Griffin really played well this year also. I really hope that he has another year on the roster.
  12. Is there a link to the UND OC press conference?
  13. Hire makes sense given his connection to the new OC.
  14. are the highlights something that they out sourced to Midco? But, I agree - the basketball media presence and highlights have been lacking. I did see a nice first person video of the celebration at the end of the Saturdays game.
  15. It was a pretty rough game: Early in the game a elbow was thrown down low that caught Tyree in the jaw - they checked and said no. The TV commentator was surprised by the no call. Omot had to leave the game for a short period of time. He ended up with a couple of stitches on his eyebrow. Amar then drew a F1 at the end of the game. It looked like a clear F1 to me. But, I am a Sioux fan so I do carry some bias. I only mention the others to say it was a very physical game. And refs let them play, which I think NDSU used it to their advantage.
  16. Amar and Tyree are making all the difference with this team. They give this team grit. UND matched up with NDSU in post. And to me that is the game. UND: Amar - 4 - OReb, 9 - DReb, 2 - BLK, 11 - pts TT - 1 - OReb, 1 - DReb, 0 - BLK, 10 - pts NDSU: Morgan: 1 - OReb, 3 - DReb, 0 - BLK, 14 - pts Feddersen: 1 - OReb, 4 - DReb, 0 - BLK, 6 - pts And I don't understand how Omot did not take his defender to the cleaners. NDSU matched up a 6' guard on him. That should have been exploited all game long. Omot FG 4-12, 0 - OReb, 1 - DReb, 0 - Asst, 10 - pts
  17. Isn't Tyree a match up problem for Wheeler-Thomas. Wheeler-Thomas looked like he was under 6'. Tyree can just take him down low.
  18. The addition of Tyree and Amar have been huge. Little nervous about the players wearing down. They have basically gone to a 7 rotation with King and Brady coming off the bench. Amar with a 17 reb/ 17 pts is crazy.
  19. They are in the middle of major renovations. I think it will be finished prior to the start of next season. Back in the day it used to seat 9,000. The arena's attendance record is for the SDSU-Augustana men's game on February 11, 1989, which attracted 9,456 fans. But, they have slowly destroyed the place. It seats 6,500 right now. But, they are going to finally fix it with a big remodel project. Estimated at $50 million overall, the renovation project is expected to take two years to complete. Construction will take place in multiple phases to avoid relocation and interruption of SDSU events. Once complete, fan experience and gameday atmosphere will be taken to the next level with: new premium seating areas and suites, state-of-the-art video board and display systems, an enhanced sound system, a more spacious concourse, and improved restrooms. New and improved locker rooms and offices are also a part of the renovation design, which will have an estimated capacity of 5,500. https://www.sdstatefoundation.org/stories/first-bank-trust-commits-20-million-to-frost-arena-renovation
  20. Bruns has been heating up 3 for 3 from 3 this half. He is shooting well. They need to get out on him.
  21. 4 grabbing hit ankle - not good.
  22. UND 57 to USD 46 13 minute left
  23. Amar is killing them right now. 16 rebounds and 13 points
  24. Get back to even number of teams and get back to double headers. You would see a big improvement in gameday environment. But, that would make too much sense.
  25. But, that doesn't jive with the UND offering Danny Freund more money to stay? If that was the messaging from UND in the beginning. I am not sure that you would see the response that you have.
