I am on hear to talk sports.......stuff like this......If NDSU played the Sioux this year we would kick their ASS....sports talk.....

Southern University is a part of the SWAC conference that is composed of HBCUs. they elect to not participate in the playoff system and instead play in a game called the Bayou Classic.

Being a Healthcare Administrator in Wyoming, I can say that this is true.........Our students finish at Washington.

It sounds to me like this is just a fishing trip to see if you can get any UND fans to bite.....

Thanks for the cudos......the bad thing coming out of Ball State is a couple significant injuries. Tyler Jangula (fullback) is out for the deason with a torn ACL. Plus, Harrington (center) is injured as well.

We need to play a level higher than we did this past weekend......No turnovers and we need the passing game to get opened up more.

NDSU will play UND when, and only when, they count as a DI-AA opponent. Given that NDSU has to battle for an at large bid to the playoffs (when eligible in 2008), I suspect the strength of schedule will be a very important determinant. I am quite sure that NDSU will never play a D2 UND. There would be no up side to such a game.

Cap'n Cat is a great fan.........I had the privilege of fishing with him here in Wyoming! And.....as a former UNI football player, he knows his stuff better than most of us.

I certaintly don't dismiss it. It was a truely historic win and a win that says UND really needs to be in DI-AA. No question that the Sioux are ready to move up. I think most of us feel that way. There are always a few nay sayers on either side, but the bulk of the fans realize what a great day that was for you team and your fans. We have had our similar days with Montana and Wisconsin.

I guess each board has its collection of people that aren't big enough to shake hands once in a while......

After the UNI game you need to pack your stadium for your team.....they deserve a full house....

I just got back from a Scout campout and check the scores......Damn impressive. UNI was surely your Montana! It would appear the ranks teams need to look out for the North Dakota schools! Great Job and a hearty Congrats on a hell of a game!

No smack here. I hope you give UNI a run. I suspect it will be a whacking ...... as will our game with the Gophers. However.....on any given saturday any team can win.

It is probably a little foolhardy to stake your DI future on an invite from the Big Sky ....... The Sky is tough to read and it is very clear that the current bunch of presidents don't see anything east of the State of Montana. That has been made eminently clear to NDSU. UND would obviously be a much better peer institution for the Sky than would SUU, but you will never solve the geography problem. It seems crazy, but that is Big Sky thinking.............

I would suspect the distribution of UND alums is similar. It always seems to me that it is the students and alums from MN that have the toughest time understanding that the majority of alums (outside of MN and ND) reside in the Western 1/2 of the US. North Dakota is much more of a Western state than it is Midwestern.

I have to say I was starting to get a little apathetic about Basketball, then last year Tim Miles woke me up! I suspect a lot of Bison fans were in the same boat as me! If UND makes the jump to DI and has some BB success as the Bison have I would suspect the number of Sioux fans following BB will climb. It is the nature of the beast.......

I still think the Big Sky is more attractive. I just think the BSC has a better peer group of institutions for us. On the other hand there is something to be said for the fact that the MidCon does nicely cover some important recruiting area for NDSU. But I still like the Sky. But.....the Sky isn't going to happen. Kind of like I would love to f#ck Faith Hill, but it ain't gonna happen......

Yes, it seems to me a strange way to handle this too. I also think we will get in along with SDSU. It has been interesting watching the reaction on Bisonville. People seem to get paranoid pretty fast and forget that the MidCon probably needs the SUs worse than the SUs need a conference........but, who knows. Until the invite is out anything is a possibility. A little suspense makes this thing more exciting....that is for damn sure!

The Bison game in Minneapolis is cheap when looking at expenses......a charter bus rather than the usual Northwest jet....one night in a hotel.....and a check from the U of M (likely a loss and hopefully no injuries). The Ball State game is a totally different deal. Not a huge payday, but a good shot at a DI-A win.

I would suspect some type of exit fee could be in the making and it would not be entirely unreasonable.
