So we have to kiss their keisters? Sorry, I won't be doing that. Until Bison fans give us credit for our 7 NCAA hockey titles, I will not be brown-nosing them for "their recent success". This is a rivalry and that is how it is supposed to work. They should just go back to Bisonville if they want their egos stroked; this is siouxsports.com.

I really don't like NDSU football but I find it hard to talk much smack considering their recent success. They might be down a little this year compared to the last few but that was a pretty high bar.
I will definitely be ready to jump on when we catch up and pass them, and I believe we will, but can't do it now just because they have 2 losses this year.

Wow....I agree....those two TO's were horrible. I thought on the fumble they were saying that Bartels was trying to hand off but got hit before he could, but that obviously wasn't the case. He totally saw that guy coming and had some time and is no way he should have fumbled that....wow.
IIRC it was 1st and 10 and we were trying to run clock. I know we need to mix it up but it sure would have been better to run the ball and keep the clock moving.

I understand why you decided to stay home to watch the football game. There was likely more on the line for the football team last night.
Like it or not, Bemidji's hockey program is not a whole lot different than UND's football program. There are a lot of similarities if you sit back and really think about it.
and here we go again. someone says something negative about hockey playing a supposed DII Bemidji State hockey and you belittle the UND (our) football team in the process . you say that you support the football team but to make your point you run them down again.
The original post made no sense, by the way, since BSU was in the Frozen Four a few years ago.

I didn't think it was directed at me. I just see "hockey only crowd" in many posts around here. Understand hockey only bison fans, but just don't know any hockey only sioux fans .

You are lucky or run with a good crowd if you don't know any hockey only Sioux fans.
There is a guy I used to work with who was at UND at the same time I was and is a big hockey fan. He loves to tell me every so often that he never went to a fb game when he was at UND and he knows I played fb for the Sioux. Finally I called him out on it and asked if he was just trying to be an a-hole or what was his point. He has stopped now.
I follow all our teams from TC. See 4-5 fb and about the same hockey games in person each year. See a couple of men's and women's bb and a women's hockey game also. Rest I watch or listen to on TV or on line when possible. Last night watched hockey on line and listened to fb.
I do know a number of hockey only people but no fb only. I was in philly for most painful frozen four finish ever. Lots of fb alums there supporting hockey team including Ira. Never heard anyone say r post they were giving up on hockey team after that tough loss.

i'm as diehard as the next guy when it comes to the Sioux name but have absolutely no interest or tie of any kind to the Nodak name/slur. A change is coming whether we want it to or not...everyone will have to deal with it in their own way...maybe I missed a meeting where all the Sioux diehards were instructed to support the Nodak name.
Our student group is Nodak Nation. That came about long before Nodaks was a potential nickname because it makes sense and the school has some history of using it. Seems like a natural fit to me.

Two really tough losses in a row and I am irritated but am not giving up on the team or the program.

Yep, me and the others that won't show up to watch a subpar product. Unfortunately our support will be missed when the seats are empty in the Alerus.
By the way, the annual choke job does an Ok job of filling seats. Over the last 2 decades (with the exception of a couple of years) every season there is realistic hope to hang another banner in REA.
The football program is years away from being there.
You are right the football team has a ways to go. Not a reason to bail out on them in my opinion.

If we want to get this thing turned around we need to win some of these games to give some hope and help with recruiting.

The 5 hour drive to GF for the next game just got longer. Ouch. Good thing I like tailgating and will be optimistic for a victory again by then.

This team is flat out mentally weak. Schweigert needs to figure out how toughen this team up so they don't piss up a rope every week when they are challenged. Inexcusable.
I think we just don't have enough athletes yet. Can't handle injuries because backups aren't good enough
