  1. We've had a few blow-outs this year - then the fourth quarter happened. It's all about Sack City and Dback play. History shows this will probably be the lowest attended game of the year with lots of students disguised as empty seats.

damn. I'm gonna miss my first home game of year. In Beijing and don't get to MSP til Saturday afternoon.  Couldn't tell my boss I need to bail out early and all the  expense that goes with that to go to a football game

My three kids should be there and my son says he is bringing our Sack City sign so I am contributing what I can.  My wife says she will have game on I-heart radio when she picks me up.  Go Sioux

  2. I think field goal calls should use the honor system for in or missed.

Not saying that but if Taubenheim was arguing about it he knows he made it and that was proven correct by the game pics.

  3. Exactly, take the best free throw shooter on each team and it's atleast even. I should of clarified myself. Also, whats your guys field goal percentage (basketball or football). My main point here is lay off the guy. If he actually made the PAT and the ref f"d the call up it's on the ref to make the call. Tight game it's not easy to nail those ones.

If Taubenheim says he made the kick I believe him.  He would know.  He has kicked thousands of footballs in practice and in games and it is easy to know if you made it or not after watching so many kicks.

  4. Roughriders.  The Cowboys and Indians mix (with the Sioux apparel taking an entire generation to phase out) is why. Won't vote Nodaks since I grew up hearing it as a derogatory term for North Dakotans in suburban MSP. Hawks isn't worth addressing. Ryde or die!

I voted Nodaks and think we can turn it from derogatory to positive if we embrace it.  Very much like Wisconsin people did with the Cheesehead name.  It used to be very derogatory but now I wish I had invented the cheese wedge hat.

  5. That  supposed incomplete pass call has to go down as one of top 5 wtf moments in und football.  Forgetting about replay, I screamed all 6 shades of red out of my face. When I couldn't scream anymore the only thing I could was to laugh hysterically at those bafoons!  I thought , "here we go"!  They did not show the replay until the "refs " indicated they weren't really refs, just the fact that they slept at holiday inn express!

I lost my voice on Sunday and still don't have it back.  I wonder if screaming at the refs after that play is what happened to me.

  6. The officials need to do their job correctly. Call it as it is. Yes, the kick could've been better, but they need to call it correctly. End of story.

100% agree. If he made it he made it.

Nobody says we should have gotten that fumble out earlier so ref couldn't screw that up.  Thankfully there was replay on that one.

  7. I suppose things look different from the field than the couch.

wasn't on the couch.  Made the 5 hour drive to be at the game.  We don't have a couch in our tailgating area and there aren't any in the Alerus as far as I know.

Hope you were there too.  It was a lot of fun.

Maybe MSU hadn't run any of those trick plays this year but if they had we should have been at least a little prepared.  The throw back to the QB was a bad toss or they would have scored there too.

  8. Gophers were inept at end of game.  Down 3 with 19 seconds left and a time out left. 1st and goal at 1/2 yd line.  After 1st play - 2 seconds left.  Failed on sneak on last play.

  9. Agree.......2 decent teams with some really good talent but also some not so good talent.

Again was a terrific game to watch. Just ask one of the 18 students who was there.

hey....my kid (UND student) was there til the end.  It can be done

  10. is it a problem? Devils advocate but what if he doesn't fit the culture? What if he's living a non FCS-football productive lifestyle?

Not based on what I have heard.  I have heard nothing but good about his attitude and lifestyle.

  11. of the with only 20 percent or so people voting it might show how far out of touch UND/kelly is with the alumni...looks like a strong student turnout but the alumni had a chance to step up but they didn't.  and now i don't blame them and und might have lost them forever?

This is a reach at best.

  12. Can anyone honestly say that knowing ahead of time that there could be a third candidate in the event of a statistical dead heat between 2nd and 3rd place would have changed their vote or changed their view of the process?

If not, please give it a rest about "rules" and "integrity".  You sound ridiculous.

Also - this isn't the US Constitution that was amended.  It was someones plan for a runoff for a new nickname.

  13. It is really hard to believe that anybody is trying to rig the vote by adding a third choice.  I'm sure the conversation was:  there is no statistical difference between 2 and 3 so let's include both.  Not - I bet we can swing the final vote to __________  if we include three options.

I guess this kills the talk that the fix was in for North Stars.

  14. So now the "Nodaks" folks are b*tching because the rules were changed to INCLUDE their choice in a run-off vote?

    Unbelievable.

I'm with you on this one.  People looking for a conspiracy where nothing exists, especially when adding Nodaks gives their choice (and mine) a chance.

  15. There is nothing wrong with Mollberg, his family physician told me yesterday that he is healthy and ready to go.The irony is that, arguably, the most athletic quarterback on the team sits on the bench. I don't think they're mad at him, he's a terrific young man who hasn't complained a bit. It could be his style is geared more toward a wide open passing game instead of the conservative offense that Bubba wants.

I don't think they are mad at him either.  I said they must be mad at him as a back door way to say that there is no reason he shouldn't be given a shot.  I have heard great things about him as a person and have watched him on the sidelines this year.  He has been very into the games and appears genuinely exited for the team when the other QBs have done good things.

  16. We knew games like this would happen.  We are pretty thin in many spots.  Which is why we needed to hang on the last two weeks and get wins when we had the chance.  Even with a blowout like this 6-2 would look pretty good for recruiting and attitude for the rest of the year.

  17. If Mollberg isn't hurt - As a coaching staff they must be really mad at him that he can't see the field in a blowout like this.  He was the starting QB a year ago at this time when he got hurt and was playing well when he went down.

  18. Hate to be pessimistic, but settling for 3 points there will probably lose us the game. Same situation as last three weeks  ...

maybe but last week we got nothing from there.
