  1. Sure feels nice to finally have something to play for... Keep it up!
  2. Really? I'm sitting here thinking REA could take some lessons from DU. It ain't the 80's anymore.
  3. Was tthat pickup rolled over in the median when you went by?
  4. 10 miles north of brookings. Pretty nasty out here. Decent visability but icy and snow packed roads. 40 MPH right now.
  5. Yeah we left Sioux falls about 15 min ago. Blowing snow but so far little sticking to road. Expecting it to get worse tho.
  6. And yet you think you should be credentialed.....
  7. And to me that is the biggest change in the last 1 1/2 games. The first 4 games Henrickson was able to chuck up the deep ball and our receivers used their skills to come down with it. We were gaining yards in huge chunks which led to the high scores. Against Cal Poly and from what I've seen tonight, the opposing D is focusing on stopping the deep ball and when we do get a guy open, Hendrickson either overthrows him or we drop the ball. Hanson leads a more methodical drive which will chew up clock and should be more effective as the D is playing the deep ball. I think its pretty obvious to see the Hendrickson performed above his abilities earlier this year (and thank goodness for that). But Hanson should have control from here on out...
  8. How is the D1 move restraining the top draw? If anything, one could argue the hockey program is holding back the rest of the sports by possibly ending the FCS broadcast agreement. This has absolutely nothing to do with the D1 move.
  9. I think he's talking about the nickname ammendment that they will try to get passed in November. However, I was pleased to see the wording of M1 when I went to the booth today. I feared it wouldn't pass but after seeing how it was written my fears subsided.
  10. Perhaps it only appears that way to you because they are at an intelligence level you can't even dream about reaching?
  11. For selfish reasons, I would love to see UND paired with Duluth. Absolute great town with a brand new rink thats awesome to watch a game at. And as you pointed out, travel in that scenario isn't an issue. However, I think they will pair up the Minnesota schools and pair us up with Omaha as the "I29 corridor" grouping for geographical reasons. I won't complain too hard about that pairing because the travel is equal and I hear Omaha is also a pretty nice town to visit. I don't want to see us paired up with St. Cloud again. Just not a huge fan of the city or rink, although I look forward to seeing it after they finish with the improvements.
  12. That's what I was hoping for but according to the link I posted of Duluth's preliminary schedule, they are in a pod with Omaha and Bemidji. Which is why I am guessing we will be with the Colorado Schools.
  13. Awesome. I hope their first season goes great. Despite never having played it, I'm a huge fan of lacrosse and would love to see it expand in North Dakota. Between GF and Fargo having teams, it looks like it might be moving in that direction.
  14. Well according to the Duluth blog, those are the dates they are scheduled to play in Grand Forks.
  15. Can't come out soon enough! Although the amount of local road trips may be a bit less than last year. From what I gather, either the Colorado schools or UAA and Mankato will be in our pod. Although I thought I remembered reading that this was the last year going to Anchorage in the WCHA which would leave us with the only the Colorado schools as likely pod partners. If that's the case, we should have trips to St. Cloud, Michigan Tech, Minnesota, Mankato, Omaha, Denver, and CC on the schedule. It's too bad Wisconsin and Duluth won't be on there as those were the best trips from this year in my opinion. I am looking forward to Omaha and the outdoor game, however.
  16. Unfortunately, even after we do get a national title these same clueless individuals will be the first ones calling for Hak's head the first season we miss the ncaa tourney. To them, due to our past history all other teams are inferior to us and should bow down to our supposed greatness. It's absolute nonsense.
  17. Just a minor correction. The Lacrosse final is on an irregular rotation between Baltimore, Boston, and Philadelphia. Baltimore had it the last couple of years but it will be in Boston this year. Still, it holds to your point of having the championships in the area of the country that most supports the sport. However, its been 13 years since the last warm weather frozen four so I'm going to withhold judgment on future ones until I see the attendance figures. Personally, I think having it in a football stadium (Detroit) was far more egregious.
  18. I've always thought so too. And now thinking back to the basketball tournaments this wknd, the 1 seeds generally did play in the afternoon. However, they sure didn't follow that format last year with UND playing the night game as a 1 seed.
  19. I've seen a couple of people make mention to this in the last couple of days. The Minnesota rule only changes the normal order of the games when the gophers aren't the number 1 seed. But that won't be in play this year as Minnesota is the 1 seed and will be playing the night game as the 1 seed normally does.
  20. Your forgetting about Michigan Tech. The format you described was the format used when the WCHA had 10 teams and 5 advanced to St. Paul. Since they expanded to 12 teams last year, 6 teams advance to the X. Thus, the 3 seed will always play on Thursday.
  21. Because when there was 10 teams in the WCHA, there was 5 teams that advanced to St. Paul. After they expanded to 12 teams, they wanted to keep the Final Five brand for its recognition. The 5 now refers to the number of games played at the X and not the number of teams there. Edit: Smoggy beat me to it
  22. As far as I can tell the CHA does not have an autobid because they only have 4 teams. So even though RMU won that conference, they won't make the NCAA tourney. Thus it basically all comes down to if Duluth wins tonight or not.
  23. Well I don't see how we could play Tech because they swept Wisconsin this year and would win the tie breaker with them. However, BSU is still a very real possibility.
  24. Seriously? Often times Dan is the only person posting updates on the basketball team. Your gonna call him out for speaking the truth? I like this win as well as anyone and I am very pleased with the strides that this team has made this season. But the fact of the matter is there is still room for improvement. Its the theme of this team to not close out games very well. How is stating that somehow a putdown of the team? Anybody (except you, apparently) is aware of this. It isn't breaking news. And who took a piss in everyones cheerios this week? Cripes there are alot of irrational fans posting this week....
