  1. Bravest Gopher.
  2. minus thirteen. Does he bother skating back to the center line when the other team's got the puck?
  3. We can give him some cast offs from the womens team. Won't be so roomy up front.
  4. I was looking at the TUC against New Hampshire over the weekend. It looked to me that if we won one more TUC game or if they lost one more we'd flip the comparison with them. If I understand it right we'd be #4 in the pairwise on the inside looking out. That's how important the TUC is.
  5. Most of them are tied for last place!
  6. I edited your post in the interest of honesty for you. It's going to be a standing joke for years, but aside from that Hakstol made a mistake in the heat of the moment, apologized and is willingly facing the serious consequences of the matter. I'm not going to hold it against him one bit.
  7. Is George Gwozdecky from there?
  8. I just said something smart azzed about my wife in front of her and some friends. On of the friends said that she was going to Hakstol me over that one.
  9. According to Inside College Hockey Randy Schmidt has been suspended for at least the season. So let's see screw over a division two school and you get another chance. Screw over a Big Ten school and lose your job perhaps permanently: Certainly screwing up after a warning is a bigger deal. But I think they went from a slap on the wrist to the death penalty because of who it was rather than what he did. Maybe if they would have treated it as a serious matter after the first time the second time wouldn't have happened.
  10. Exactly because I have never ever given money to a player.
  11. That wasn't Adam, it was one of the linesmen or assistant referee's as they are called.
  12. The linesman should have been on Peltier's back immediately, well before Malone was in the neighborhood. He only went in when the linesmen declined to do their job.
  13. Wrong, he got a power play for his team. Not only did Don Adam NOT apply the rules with a 5 minute fighting and a game DQ he rewarded it. Wonder if Peltier learned a lesson? As far as the barribal check, nobody's complaining about the check Peltier threw. It was sitting on him throwing punches that was out of line and out of the rules. That's actually one thing that bothers me with the NHL. They'll start a fight over a clean, but hard check.
  14. Well he certainly deserved it, but it's not a good thing for the school. On the other hand I'll bet the players LOVE it and will play all the harder because of it!
  15. Wow, you must have high def!
  16. I believe the Sioux players felt that Gordon had embellished it. As far as I'm concerned you don't complain about that when you had your stick up around his chest. Nice work by Wheeler to negate the power play. Not only did #16 (Carmen?) try to cross check Oshie, Anderson tried to knee him and Oshie ducked. Dirtiest play in hockey. The game was going to get out of hand when Adam rewarded the Gophers for having one of their larger guys attack our smallest guy with no provocation. Now the players are responsible for their own actions but in my opinion when the officials don't protect your players the team has to, any way they have to.
  17. If Hakstol gets fined I'm sending in a few bucks because I flipped off Adam from home. Was the WCHA official swearing as well? If so why would he be not fined the same as the coach? Furthermore there still is the question of why the WCHA official there did not follow the rules and kick Peltier out for throwing punches. It's unfortunate that Hakstol's action is overshadowing the utterly unprofessional job the official did.
  18. I agree with the first and disagree with the second. If it's not ok for a player to grab the face mask it's not ok for an official. The whole scrum at the end is the fault of bad officiating. If they would have properly called a five minute fighting on Peltier for throwing punches then the game would have settled down.
  19. The only thing that is bad for the team was Hakstol's non verbal communication with the official. As far as I'm concerned the Gophers were running at the mouth and unwilling to back it up on the ice. (We know that about Bickel for sure). Joe was ready to settle it then. I'd rather be on our side than the Gophers. Secondly Malone didn't throw any punches. If you've got a guy who's what 150 pounds being attacked by one of their larger guys you step in to break it up. The worthless linesman wasn't ready to stop Peltier but could facemask Malone. I also doubt that they'll suspend Joe for a number of reasons. 1) Pretty much sends the message to start swinging in that situation does it not? 2) There must be a precedent. 3)If they're going to drop their "decision on the ice stands" we're going to wonder why Denver got awarded two bogus wins and really wonder why Peltier doens't get a retroactive fighting major.
  20. One TUC win for us or loss for New Hampshire means we're a #1 seed in a regional. If I've got my math right of course.
  21. Because Oshie ducked it. Anderson had his knee out there to knee him and DID NOT PULL BACK. I appreciate the rest of your comment.
  22. Hate to say it, but I'd sure like to see the Gofers sweep Denver this weekend.
  23. Good time for a week off.
  24. One thing Sagard said last night was that he respects the Sioux for going face to face. I don't disagree with your characterization of Zajac as non-cowardly but putting it into context with that it does make a difference. It was a retaliation for a cheap shot (2 in as many seconds) directed towards our best player who's playing injured.
