  1. I think Malone needed to step in because you had a larger guy attacking a smaller skilled guy. You can not allow that to happen. If anything is bush league it's that the referee rewarded that bush league behavior. Hakstol will probably be fined. I got $20 bucks to pay my share because I was doing it at home (behind my kids back). Don Adam is entirely to blame for the stuff at the end. You cannot reward the Peltier's goonism (no offense) and not expect things to get out of hand. Me too, and Eades would have killed the fem-glasses guy as well. I hadn't noticed that last night but you're right. Kneeing is the dirtiest play in hockey.
  2. Generally when a game gets ugly I think the fault lies with the officials. I had to listen to the first two periods and only watched part of the 3rd. I did see the dust up in the 2nd. I still think the way that wound up is going to make a team ready for a fight. You don't have a guy throwing punches at a much smaller skill guy when he's down and let him get away with it. Especially when the referee rewards them.
  3. The Box Score is up on College Hockey Stats. The extra game misconduct on Finley doesn't mean anything right? Leave it to Adam to miss the first cheap shot, even with video replay.
  4. And Darcy kinda likes that stuff as well. But I don't think it matters how hard he got hit. It was a cheap shot and since the officials seem to encourage that stuff by letting it go I think you have to make a statement. If I were the coach I would of greenlighted someone to go after Peltier after we wound up on the short end of the penalty calling. OF course I'm a hothead. But then Hakstol seems to be becoming more like us. So do you think the team is going to get a boost out of Hakstol's communication this weekend? I think they might.
  5. Zajac's check on Anderson wasn't any Matt Greene hit either. If it happened in front of the net you wouldn't think that much about it. Still it's the end of the game stuff that just doesn't need to get out of hand. The gofer hit being first was more egregious, not as hard, but higher...than Zajacs merely because of the time left of the game. The look on Hakstol's face says to mean he did it and he meant it.
  6. That's ok with me but someone should be asking the WCHA office why Peltier wasn't DQ'd for fighting in the 2nd period. More punches were thrown then than after the game.
  7. It's pretty boring when you don't have anyone to go back and forth with. Let's give him credit for being 100 times more aware than the Gopher broadcasting crew.
  8. I think that he took more of a whack at TJ Oshie's head but mostly missed.
  9. No, #16 threw the crosscheck and Zajac retaliated against the wrong guy.
  10. Nope, Bickel looked real tough yapping at Finley at the end of the game, standing behind the coach. Also didn't he throw a punch at the back of Finley's head when he was tied up with Wheeler after the game. If we're looking at DQ's (and I don't think we are) then that should be considered.
  11. But it's ok to cross check someone in the head from the back. Kinda goes both ways. By the way I'm sure your proud of your guy Peltier for punching a little guy while he's on the ice.
  12. There were more punches thrown in the 2nd period by Peltier and Peltier alone. If anyone were to get a fighting DQ it should go to him.
  13. How long did you coach, sir?
  14. Is he saving them for the playoff run? I say the black traditionals.
  15. Won't make any difference with Sheppard and McClown in the head office.
  16. Well then you might wind up with an all WCHA Frozen Four and that hurts some of the children's feelings. Personally I don't think that should be one of their considerations. They should have the best teams face eachother in the Frozen Four, not the West Regional. If the Cup Cake Hockey Association powerhouses can't beat a WCHA team in the regional they shouldn't be at the FF.
  17. You'd have to be a complete idiot to not give Kangas another chance after the job he did last night. Maybe.
  18. This sounds like a good time to point out that UND is second in the nation once again in attendance behind Wisconsin's 15,000 seat Kohl center averaging more than 100% of capacity.
  19. Of the nine North Dakota goals that we know Dubay saw in person the "one line" scored 2 goals. (Both in one game.) That sounds pretty much like balanced scoring to me.
  20. I was just bitching about the refs to keep in shape. I agree with you that it's just one of those things that are going to happen in hockey and hopefully even out.
  21. Not only did the video show it Doug Woog in the commentary said he got him with the butt-end of the stick.
  22. I assume it's the call with about 5 minutes left of regulation. Kaip was down on the ice after making a defensive play. The puck wound up right beside him and the Goph stabbed at the puck and got his stick between Kaips arm and his body while he was laying face down on the ice. It looked to me that Kaip clinched onto the Goph stick with the stick on the inside of his elbow. The Goph really had to pull hard to get it loose and we likely got possession of the puck because of that. I take a back seat to no man in ripping on WCHA officials, especially Adam. If he called it that way everytime I'd be happy. Speaking of bitching, WTF was with the quick whistle that cost us a goal?! Seriously Adam didn't do that bad tonight.
  23. This time it was the ugly one.
  24. Minnesota wound up with a power play due an extra call on Joe Finley for pulling Wheeler out of the scrum. Frankly if you can get by with a cheap shot to the back of the head without putting your team down a man why not do it? Another case of the WCHA officials rewarding cheap shots.
