  1. Greene, Schneider, Smaby and Matt Jones!
  2. In my opinion the notable big defensemen we've had, Greene, Smaby and Commodore, all had weak Freshman years and spotty sophomore years. It takes the big men a few years for their skill to match up with their size. There's nothing wrong with that and in fact they contributed a spots in their younger years. Let's have some reasonable expectations.
  3. I've got tickets for both games in the season ticket package!
  4. Maybe we're smart enough to be able to appreciate both the defensive minded defensemen as well as the offensive minded defenseman. We're lucky in that we have three defensemen that are at the top or close to it for scoring, Bina, Gennoway and Chorney and a top tier defensive minded defenseman (Finley). We also have three good role players, two of whom are likely to be leaders in the next year or two. I see us as being in a great situation.
  5. What's so funny that at his size he could really goon it up if he wanted to. What would they think of him then?
  6. The 1987-1988 Team went over to Russia for some kind of competition as well. Mike Lamoine (who's still around town) made the trip as I recall. This was the Team that had just lost Hrkac, Joyce (own's the boards), Kidd(went to Detroit too) and Belfour so I don't think we did that well.
  7. I know we played the 1984 US Olympic Team at the old Winter Sports Building. Brian Leetch was the big star who went on to have a great NHL career. Apparently it was another player I was thinking of, not Leetch.
  8. Get back to work!
  9. The Soviet Dynamo team or something like that. Justin Duberman was the best player for the Sioux that night if I recall.
  10. This is a huge weekend for the playoff implications. That being said the team knows it's important but we have seen some letdowns from them in the past. There's fourteen more games left to be won by my count.
  11. Strict enforcement of the no punches thrown rule would have meant that we would have missed out on a real good fight last night.
  12. So it was to her parents home he was taking her. Maybe he met them all in church this morning.
  13. Thank you, but when you're making a joke and the other folks don't realize it something's wrong with the delivery, not the recipients. I guess I'll have to start relying on smileys!
  14. Man that's the second time I screwed that up this weekend. Kyle Radke. (Brad Radke used to pitch for the Twins.) That's it I'm putting myself on a 2 hour suspension.
  15. The replay showed that Brad was pitchforking him before the slash. They didn't show what led to that.
  16. I don't think it matches up on the sweetness scale with the last goal of Lee Goren's career in 2000. Of course that one was from the blueline so technically it was a bit easier.
  17. Right it was Malone, he had tripped over a DU player (who was lying on the ice.) After the whistle the guy skated up to Malone from behind and slashed him on the back of the legs. Both Hunt and a linesman saw it and refused to call it. That set the stage of what was going to happen later in the game. Vandervelde took at least two slashes during play that was not called. Oshie was getting a beating every play. He took a slash that I heard from a long ways away. Marco Hunt is 100% responsible for the brawl that took place. Meanwhile Malone's "hooking" penalty was nothing like it. He didn't touch the DU player with the stick. The DU player fell backwards and Hunt from 10 feet away called it hooking. The replay would confirm that it wasn't hooking in that the guy fell over backwards, not towards the hooker. That "Freeman" guy from Friday night was ok, but Hunt was as worthless as they come. He was officiating for 1) a split and 2) a brawl.
  18. A. "Go get him girls." B. "That man insulted my suit." C. "Are you men or are you Pioneers?" D. Other What exactly did George say?
  19. This winning streak has done wonders for our positioning.
  20. I know that, I was more or less making fun of myself because someone pointed out to me that the "Freeman" guy last night was Marco Hunt wearing the linesman's equipment. On the other hand he didn't suck Friday night.
  21. I'm kinda thinking that Radke had the green light for this weekend if things needed to be settled down. Who's up next? Malone, Davidson or Jones?
  22. I didn't see it at the game, and it's not on the Rocky Mountain broadcast. To add to Redwing's account Tim Hennesey said Kyle Radke asked him because he was already walking off into the locker room.
  23. That's for sure, we're no Cup Cake Hockey Association by any stretch of the imagination. I liked that Freeman guy from last night. This Hunt tonight was reffing for two things, a split and a brawl. I hope that Mrs. Vossberg beats up Marco for the damage to her sons face.
  24. Win one more for the Flipper.
  25. I think he should keep the jersey. He didn't suck so much last night. (I thought that he must be another Freeman as I did recognize the Freeman linesman.)
