  1. I was there too. Drove in 25 miles on ice to get there. I remember they introduced the Livingston team at the Friday night hockey game, the night before. We all kind of chuckled thinking they weren't going to be able to handle the cold the next day. But they did. I'm glad we'll be inside on Saturday
  2. Commit Zeke Ott playing right now in MN prep bowl for Caledonia. on Midco on Channel 595.

Accuweather shows high in mid 20's on 12/3 Season tailgate passes will work as normal.
  4. Talked to a parent at the game. Shanks not dressing was for missing class, he thought that might be the reason for at least some of the others also, but wasnt sure. 72-33 UND with 12 minutes to go
  5. Including a full blown Thanksgiving Day turkey dinner in the Alerus parking lot...... doesn't get much better than that
  6. Saw this in the Grand Cities Mall - South Forks Plaza on Halloween evening. Building permit in the window said Stengl Graphics. Not sure if it's open yet or not, didn't appear to be ready on Oct. 31. Their version of the Hawks logo. story from July, 2016 http://www.inforum.com/sports/4066038-noncommissioned-fighting-hawks-logo-designer-print-shop-planning-roll-out-merchandise
  7. I absolutely hear what you're saying. But, my point is that an equal amount of folks with young kids would say similar things about a 4 pm or 7 pm start. There are probably just as many folks who don't want to get their kids home too late at night and may skip the late game. I also wonder what a 4 or 7 pm start on a beautiful fall day would do for the UND student attendance. But, I'm probably in a different situation having attended my first UND football games in the early 60's. 4 pm is almost time for the early bird supper specials and 7 pm is almost bedtime.
  8. I don't think the start time will affect tailgating in any way. You could have midnight games and the same folks will be out there hours before. If you want to tailgate, you find a way to make it. I bet most folks that currently come 30 to 90 minutes before a 1 pm start will still do that for a 2:30, 4:00 or 7 pm game. Any people that can't make 1:00 pm games due to work or other conflicts will be offset by people working later in the day or having evening conflicts and being unable to make a 4 pm or 7 pm game. For 15 years, I have about a 5 hour round trip for games and I preferred the early start. I did miss an evening games over that time, not wanting to stay over or get home past midnight. I think the worst thing UND can do is have 3 different start times for the 5 or 6 home games in a season. Like Bubba, I prefer Saturday afternoon football
  9. My 2 cents on the Rudolph\play calling issues. Rudolph is just one part of the equation. The staff, especially Bubba, sets the philosophy for each game. Not throwing much early is probably a Bubba decision. He likes to slow the game down and believes in the power run game and believes in sticking with it. Bubba’s basic philosophy is defense, the run game (including runs from the QB position) and winning the turnover battle. (16-2 advantage in interceptions on the season is one result of that and outrushing our opponents 1928-884 is another) I’ve been told they do give Keaton enough freedom to check out of plays, including from a run to a pass. He might be on a little bit of a tight leash, but he is allowed to make the basic adjustments. Rudolph is executing decisions made by the overall staff. If players execute, the play succeeds. If the defense stacks the box and the good guys in green execute and get couple key blocks out of a beat up line, it makes for some nice gainers. But, I’ll take that game plan….holding an undefeated opponent to 12 yards rushing, winning the turnover battle 4-0 and rushing for 170 yards is usually going to let you come out on top.
  10. Wife and I went to Up North Pizza Pub in EGF last night. Excellent pizza... they have some unique ones. The Drunken Rooster pizza with pheasant sausage and the Duck, Duck, Goat pizza with duck, grapes, pecans and goat cheese. We played it safe with a Smoked BBQ chicken called the Saucy Hen. Only made it through 2 of the 35 or so beers on tap. Place was pretty busy, service was OK, especially for a new place. Nice addition to downtown EGF.
  11. Not yet. The Mill is one of a couple entities who are looking at the current Minnkota site, but there are no deals yet. Minnkota doesn't expect to be fully moved to the new facility until 4th quarter of 2017, with the possibility of some areas remaining at the Mill Road site into 2018.

    2016 Season

BG site shows ESPN3 for the game.... http://www.bgsufalcons.com/schedule.aspx?path=football#game_id_7749
  13. Yes, closer to kickoff you see people move in to the student section. The ushers only stop people with adult beverages in their hands, which are theoretically not allowed in the student section.
  14. I would disagree with making the west side all general seating. I've had seats on the west side for years and like knowing our seats will be there, even when tailgating runs a little long. I think most fans with assigned seats on the west side would agree. The real solution is to get more students and new fans into the seats that aren't routinely filled. I think we'll see more and more of that this fall.
  15. Agree on Baker. I talked to him in the Champions Club tent last fall and he seemed really excited to be back close to home and was looking forward to playing here. He seemed energetic and a good team guy on the bench all last season. I'll be really shocked if the speculation of him leaving is true.

Anyone know when they will announce the start times for UND football games this fall?

    2016 Season

Phil Neumann announced today that this is his last day on WDAZ, he is heading back east.
  18. I would guess 400 UND fans were there. Pockets of 2 & 4 here and there. They had up pretty spread out. Empty seats in lower level were in the club -bar - area. Most of those people spent much of the game in the bar, that you had to have tickets for. Otherwise a pretty packed arena.
  19. Did you nail down the Fargo pickup spot? KMart or StaMart?
  20. Yep, I thought the FB boys were great. The "swim" move during free throws, the thong shot, the chants, and riding the Weber bench pretty hard. The BBall players were down in the midst of them 5 minutes after the game was over, so you know they appreciated it. Fun to see the team taking turns with Loyal's flag. Good to see. Very good game to watch.
  21. Sorry, thats on Hooker. A play isn't absolutely set for Hooker to shoot no matter what. Its on him to dish when he draws multiple defenders. He tries to do too much at times.
  22. Tremendous effort. Once again we played with emotion and heart. I think our biggest issue is that Shanks isn't very good. 90% of the time his hands are down by his knees and that makes him late making plays on both ends. Avants played his heart out, but we need something out of Shanks, but its just not there. Cashman in street clothes doesn't help. So, No. 12 was the difference, overall Montana played smart and got great production out of the post and from their quality depth. I still think our team is an upgrade over last year's and it was a fun atmosphere today. Side note...late in the game the football players started a "Lets Go Hawks" chant. Thought that was interesting.
